They all got to the receiving hall. There stood a young girl with a scratch on her hand, and near her was Louise.
"What happened here?" asked Director K, hurrying toward them, followed by other people.
"Someone grabed her near the parkinlot, she managed to run away but got hurt," explained Louise, concerned.
"Miss, did you see who it was?" asked hopefully the Director.
"I'm sorry but that man come from nowhere and i got scared," said the woman, sobbing; she was in shock after having experienced something like that.
"Alright," Director K was furious. Who could be that psycho? From behind her, Stephan stepped ahead, surprising everyone.
"Louise, accompany her to the hospital. We will take care of every expense," she gulped. Then she looked up and nodded, "Yes, sir, I'll do that right away." She was submissive, more than usual.
The two women left with a company chauffeur while others stood there, trying to understand what had happened.
"Director K, let's call a meeting with all Directors present," said Stephan, turning toward her.
"Alright, let me schedule in ASAP," said Kilee, signing Maria to follow her back to their office.
Later that afternoon.
"Do you all hear me?" asked Kilee, facing her laptop.
She had called all the directors for a video call meeting because they were away for business, and the CEO was also present.
"What is this meeting for? im busy," growled Michael. He was the second son and the Director of Human affairs; at the moment, we were in France, and it was already midnight; jet lag was quite something.
"Shut up Michael, this meeting was my idea," said Stephan, sighing.
"Stephan, are you into her office?" asked him, confused.
"Stop being stupid.."
"Ah.. come on.."
They were always like that. The only one who disrespected them was Kilee, who was invisible to their eyes, especially to Michael.
"AHEM!" Kilee took the lead. "Good to see you, Father." The room went instantly silent. "How's things going?" asked he back.
"There have been some problems lately. I'm thinking of increasing security." Kilee was calm as usual; she knew that if she lost her calmness, she would be swallowed up instantly.
Maria did not dare open her mouth for any reason during that meeting. She stood there and worked silently on her projects until Stephen called her.
"Can you bring me an Ice Americano?" Stephan informed everyone that another person was standing in that room.
"Yes, sir," she answered, getting up. "Would you like one too, Director?" she asked Kilee, who nodded in approval.
Once Maria got outside, things got more fierce in that office.
"Who was that?" asked Michael, curious. "So who was...? " he continued without a break.
"She is my secretary," Kilee said grumpily. "Let's try to solve the main problem. " She couldn't even finish her sentence, and Michael laughed. "Aren't you supposed to take care of the building in our absence? " That sentence made Kilee grit her teeth.
"As Kilee said, the priority is to increase security; we should try to find out who the Psiko is," said Stephan, getting the situation back on track.
The CEO stayed silent for most of the meeting.
"What do you say, Father?" asked Kilee, leaving her brothers speechless. She had only taken the lead in the last few years; before that, she had never talked up in front of their father. Her new change still shocked everyone.
At that moment, Maria got back with the coffee. She gave Stephan his Ice Americano, and he bowed his head in a sign of thanks, and then she gave Kilee her's. She smiled at Maria, thanking her, and she returned to her seat, blushing a little. Stephan noticed that strange feeling between the two, and if he did not know that Kilee was a woman, he would think that there was more. Still, he also understood Maria's reaction because Director K was genuinely handsome.
"I will leave everything in your hands as scheduled from the start," said the CEO. Then, update me regularly," he continued before logging out without greeting his sons.
Once alone, the three brothers returned to their usual dispute, which was getting on Kilee's nerves. That went from a business meeting to a long, long meeting, discussing everything from every schedule they had.
Michael suddenly started to yawn. It was already past midnight, and he was beginning to feel the jet lag.
"I'll have to go now. Call me if there are other oddities," said Michael, yawning. He was not busted or burned out from tiredness. Bye, miss secretary!! " he continued laughing while Kilee shut up her laptop.
"Hey, you know, right? Stephan is still there, huh?? How dare yooouuu?? Kilee..." continued him, but Kilee got up and walked toward Stephan, and with a jest, she just closed up his laptop as well, amusing him.
The day ended, and they were now at home. Kilee was compiling documents reporting what had happened while Maria was showering.
"What are you working on?" asked her, seeing Kilee so concentrated.
"Today, rapport on the incident." Both were reared at the hospital examination, got a dreadful idea, and blanched suddenly.
Everything was strange. She took all the documents and started to review them, searching for something that would contradict her theory, but she did not find anything. Her concern made her stomach clench.
"Are you okay?" Kilee asked, noticing her sudden change. But Maria bit her lip and suddenly turned toward her.
"That secretary viewed from behing look like.. Helena." Kilee froze up. The first person who got assaulted was Helena, and now someone who was mistaken for her? Is that Psicko targeting her? Why?
"I think Helena is in danger." Maria was right; Helena was in danger, and everything made sense. But it creeped them out like never before.
"Call her; she shouldn't get out alone for the time being," suggested Maria while taking Kilee's hand. Maria was genuinely concerned for her friend. That was the person she was—a kind woman—that's the woman she fell in love with. Kilee was relieved to have her by her side.
After discovering that her boyfriend was cheating, Maria was offered a job at B-Corp, the company of her dreams. However, she was surprised to be hired as the secretary for the workaholic director, Kyle. The only hope remains that they will understand each other over time and eventually learn to communicate. Or will there be more?
