Kai began to breathe heavily as he knelt as he’d been running for nearly 15 miles, he looked up and saw a gate with guards standing in front, Kai took a deep breath and stood, “I wish to enter the capital.” the guards looked at each other and back at Kai “Normally we’d say were closed til morning but since you have a child we’ll make an exception.” the two guards slammed their hands on the gate causing it to slightly open. Kai and Don ran in, welcomed by a not-so-busy street.  They walked the streets and found a tavern rather quickly, walking in with eyes on them. He heads over to the counter with a tired expression, “I’d like a room, please, for two.” 

The next day

Kai sat up on his bed, stood up, and stretched “Huh?” he looked next to him and saw Sybil “Sorry it took me long.”  she said with a smile, Kai pointed at the little goblin behind her confused “I think you missed one.” Sybil shook her head “Every god or demon king has a chosen follower that they take with them once they ascend, this one is mine, anyhow what's next?” Kai turned around and looked at Don who had still been asleep, “I’m going to meet with the leaders of this place I need you to see, where one can get a carriage back.” Sybil nodded. Kai walked out of the room and quickly walked back onto the street to lonheeh found himself in front of another gate with soldiers wearing different colors, they took their blades out that had strange magical carvings “No one is to enter the castle!” They yelled Kai raised his hand “I’m here as a representative of Yelile a small village in the west.” the guards looked at Kai sternly “Unfortunately the Republic is no longer helping lower land, at the moment.” Kai looked at the guard shocked, “Please let me talk to them!” Kai yelled, “My people will starve by winter if we have no aid!” the guard was going to speak but was interrupted by the gates opening, they all looked behind and saw 6 figures a Gnome, a human, an elf, a demon, and beast folk, and a dwarf the gnome stepped forward with a caring nature “Come with us if you wish to speak.” the gnome said turning around, and walking closer to the building Kai quickly followed after them. The gnome looked back and smiled at Kai “Hello traveler I'm Lorel, the religious head of this place, and in case of emergencies the ultimate power here, the demonkin is Orn he leads our military, as well as generals, Fern the beast, is head of politics, Astra food and farmland, Cole the dwarf head of all mines and all architecture, Michael the forest and sea, your issue is supplies related so you’ll only have to deal with Astra, Michael, Cole, and Fern I will attend in case we have any conditions, related to religious as well as Orn.” They walked as far as the doors of the castle, the doors opened slowly and Kai entered.

They gathered in a room with them all sitting next to each other facing Kai, “Tell me, why should the republic help out a small village such as Yelile?” Fern said Kai looked at the ground, unsure of what to answer he touched his laid a hand on his sword, causing him to realize what to say “I believe even if it's small at first we should be given a chance, a chance to grow and for our people to experience life without the worry of being attacked, I mean we already have the numbers all we need is the resources to build bigger and better cities.” Orn smirked, her head laid on her hand, “And what do you call this Kingdom?” Kai smiled “Eldoria.” he said Lorel smiled “If we help you we have one condition.” Kai nodded happily as soon everything would become easier for them, “Anything!” He yelled with a happy smile, but suddenly the air began to change and time stopped with only Kai aware everything began to twist and mishappen, as everything went into bits and pieces even ribbons he suddenly found himself at home his eyes widened as he looked around, confused on what had happened, he stepped out of his home and looked around his very world was left in shambles with men, women, and children all panicking, suddenly someone touched his shoulder causing Kai to turn, he saw it was Corpus with a worried expression “What the hell happened?” Kai shrugged, but something else felt off, that is when he realized something Don hadn’t followed him he would have guessed he would have, but he didn’t. Kai ran back into the house and began to search Corpus, followed soon after and tried to look as well but no luck, Kai began to shake “What the hell is going on!” Kai yelled, suddenly the door to the house was taken down and swarms of people with guns walked in, pushing Kai to the ground as well as Corpus.

Kai paced around the cell while Corpus sat down his hands together, when the door opened revealing a semi-better Bruce, he pulled on the collar of his shirt and sighed “I would first like to say I’m sorry for the separation between you and your son, but I require your help in other matters.” Kai closed his hand into a fist, tight enough that it nearly drew blood, ‘Why should I help a bastard like you?” Brice stopped his foot on the ground “Be thoughtful there are more important things than just your son!” he yelled Kai raised his arm a flame-like ball began to form “Oh like what else?” Brice walked toward a wall and blew a hole into it once the dust settled, revealing a decomposing world “That barrier is increasing, every day this world and its people disappear, some fear the worst some fear it can’t even be stopped, but I think it can!” Kai looked on in shock but looked at Brice, “Even if you’ve stopped it, there wouldn’t be much of a world left would there.” Brice scoffed at his reply “Yes but in time we may find a new wo-” Brice was cut off by Kai slamming his foot, “I don’t want a new world, while we're talking my son is in that world alone!” he yelled.

Suddenly in his mind, a second shadow appeared, telling him of things of ways he could do to return to that world his sword quickly appeared from smoke and the dark thoughts turned his sword's blade from blue to red partially, but quickly he stopped those thoughts, before they took over “What do you have in mind?” Brice turned and walked forward, gesturing for them to follow, Kai followed without issue, but Corpus stayed and looked out at the window.

First-hand perspective of the destruction

A teenager around the age of 14 ran across the streets, he looked back and saw the barrier moving along, absorbing anything that it touched, he turned his head forward and saw his father who wasn't too far, he tried to keep up the pace, but his entire body had begun to cramp due to all the running he had done, a warm liquid poured from his ears he briefly stopped to inspect it shocked to see a warm red liquid, he looked at his father who hadn’t noticed he stopped, he reached out and tried to speak, but it was too late. In a bright light, all senses had shut down.

Back to Kai

Kai looked around many people stood waiting with different magical items, Brice got up onto a podium, “What's the plan Brice!?” someone yelled Brice nervously adjusted the microphone “The plan is to use all magical items on that barrier, we have a theory that the barrier itself is some kind of anti-magic barrier hence the reason why no one saw the barrier in the other world. But I did meet a traveling, merchant from an island known as the Magic Isles, from people who are well versed in portals tell us there is one that grows in a non-magic area and appears in random instances of times of lowered area magic. Now if we infuse all our ability into one blast we could stop it and close it, long enough for us to make a machine to generate magic.” The group of people nodded at his oh-grand Idea, but Kai gripped harder at his blade and the bits of red grew a little more.

They all began to leave the building as one of the more powerful ones led them through the streets. Kai followed, once they were a safe distance they began one by one blasting the portals with Kai being last, he looked at it regretting his choices as it slowly began to stop its color changed in small spots signaling it was beginning to close. Suddenly the dark voices became louder, so loud it began to forma humanoid form with mice covering it, “You sure you want to do this Kai?” it said with several smiles, soon and it transformed into an adult form of his son “Do this dad, and I’ll never see you.” once it stopped talking for a second it took the form of the elderly version of corpus’s son “You’ll never see that world that you found so fun.” the red on the sword grew at a faster rate “You found slaying evil to be fun, yet once you do this, the magic in this world will be all gone, as we both know how they’ll stop it permanently.” The red stopped close to the hilt as Kai held up hope, suddenly he heard the rattling of a machine he looked back and saw a machine with many holes all fitted to different magical items “Without you this world may fall but at least you’ll see him, again.” it said once more turning into a child version of a hi son with a bright smile. Kai let the red finish growing and stopped forcing the magic out, another noticed and moved a little closer “What are you doing dude if we don’t all do this, we’ll all die!” he yelled the creature grabbed his sword carrying arm, and lifted it “Just let me take….” Kai fell into a deep sleep “Control.” a sleep deep enough he couldn’t willingly wake from but could still hear all that went on, with screams and a feeling of warm liquid spraying on him. The feelings didn’t last long as soon maybe hours or maybe even weeks later he awaked on a beach, he looked around shocked by the sights. He felt a stinging sensation on his left hand, quickly he looked at saw it wasn't any amputation as he thought, it was a marking that had glowed red but began to dim down, he walked forward into the forest and began to search for the village.

Entering through the forest things had changed certain trees which were saplings had either grown and still been up or chopped down and only their trunks showed as proof of being there, through he walked the forest for only a second he quickly found a stone wall. He placed his hand on it and began to walk around, and around what seemed like an hour later he found the gate protected by two guards in silver armor, they looked at him in shock the left guard quickly opened the stone gate revealing a busy city, something that takes years to do. He ran and began to search but saw too many new faces, he stopped, and his heart began to race the marking on his hand began to glow, but suddenly he felt someone grab his hand he looked behind him, and his eyes slowly began to dim from the red marking as he saw the face of his son who had been barely 10, “Dad, it's been some time!” Don yelled with tears down his face, Kai hugged his son Sybil came out from nowhere with a changed and aged face, “Kai, it's been too long.” Kai looked around confused, “how did you get this all done, within such a short time?” Sybil shrugged, “without the republic's help, we couldn’t have. But they never let down their conditions, that was the only downside.” Kai looked at her confused as they never got to discuss conditions, “I don’t remember getting the time to discuss conditions?” Sybil shrugged, “Well, originally I was going to discuss with you having me as your patronage deity, as every new kingdom has one. I’m a Patreon of Valdoria, and a little amount of people worship me at Canth, but the people in the republic say I may end up with too much power, as more worshipers mean more power so they selected the 3rd as your Patreon, my brother Ryriel.” Kai looked at Sybil, confused even more by her words “what did he create for him to be a god, and to be ranked 3rd, actually what are the rankings?” Sybil groaned at Kai’s words but snapped her fingers revealing a type of diagram “In this world, Gods are ranked by accomplishments, and their importance to the world, my father is first having made the world, universe,e and all gods, my oldest brother Talus is second having made the sun and sky as well as the seasons, Ryriel is 3rd for making non-magical creatures and humans, I’m 4th for making magic and magical thing, my twin brother who just goes by arcane is the archivist of all knowledge, Andrea created fairies and the fairy realm but not without my help for the most part, but I let her take credit. Valor is war, and recently death and some ritualistic stuff, Rylor mostly underground stuff like dwarves and their relatives gnomes, Mavis is the creator of the moon and the night sky and the first vampire.” Sybil sighed, “just be careful, for Valor's followers.”

Kai nodded away at her information, listening to a majority of it but after some time he ignored it, Sybil stopped talking herself after a bit of sensing his ignoring ears but then began to remember another subject in mind “I feel as if I should bring this to your mind, lately people potentially from your world have been dropping by recently, not over here but in other places.” Kai’s eyes widened once he heard her words and for a second he heard the dark voice again but this time he couldn’t fully understand it, Sybil looked down at his hand shocked by the marking “When did you get that?” Kai looked at his hand, quickly covering the marking, “Just a drunken tattoo I got in the other world, as time passed longer over there.” Kai said Sybil shrugged his excuses off and tried to look at it once more, “It's just a coincidence, that 400 years ago another person from your world appeared with that same mark, or tattoo as you call it.”
