Kai looked at Sybil curious, “Oh, and what exactly happened?” Sybil looked at him with a stern expression “He had become overwhelmed with insanity and wiped out a village and a half, but since he was partially still conscious of his decision he ended himself, and in a massive explosion he had gotten rid of the other half of the village as well, so he destroyed two villages.” Kai began to feel uncomfortable at her words, “Anyhow, besides that, we should probably get going.” Sybil said standing up she snapped her fingers and quickly a traveling merchant with a familiar face appeared Don stood in front with a smile “Dad this is Mixie a fairy from the magic isles.” The man stood up revealing his previously hidden pointed ears and markings closer up his neck, he bowed with a slight smile “It’s great to meet such a famous person again, now might I ask what’s our destination?” Sybil looked at Kai then at Don, “We’re going to the city of Wolfshielde.”
Sybil began hopping onto the wagon throwing on her stuff, Don did the same but with Kai, he hesitated the thought of something dark inside him began to sicken him, but he jumped onto the wagon and after some time it began to move once more, Kai looked at Sybil curiously “So why are we heading to Wolfshielde, after al,l isn’t that city in the Kingdom of Aurelian?” Sybil nodded, “Yes, but they’re holding some resources for Yelile, and we have to hire some adventurers from their tavertoto to deal with getting to the far east of these lands, as there’s been no letter or anything letting us know of their stance on joining us.” the road felt rough, as the years of being on the road made the feels hardly ride worthy but knowing the man behind it made it worthy.
They all traveled into the Black Forest, with creatures of night and day rearing their ugly heads and attacking. Kai reached for his sword but just as quick as they came they were cut down by Don who had wielded a book of sorts. Kai's eyes reddened, and his markings glowed red and began to grow up to his arm, and the dark creature returned, “You’ve missed so much, what's left for you here? Now that he's all grown?” Kai’s eyes dimmed and his mark unexpanded, after some time of looking through the bodies they continued on their trip. After a few days of stopping traveling and switching drivers, they arrived at a small village, their people looked happy in their small part of the world seeming with no issues, quickly they were greeted by an older elf maybe as old as the current era.
She seemed upset by something that had happened, “You must be the keeper of this village?” The woman nodded slowly her sorrow showed “Two elven children had recently been kidnapped by a group of vampires, it’s been around two weeks since we’ve last sent our trained knights, and one has returned, we’ve just done a bodyless funeral which was nearly impossible due to our beliefs.” Kai looked at them curious about what what their beliefs are on death the lady understood and slightly despite all the sorrow smiled “It’s nice to see a nonelf so interested in beliefs. After a majority of their life are practically immortal, though we do die from aging and do show it, we aren’t able to get sick easily, and we heal quickly due to us having a connection to magic itself, second to the fairies. Since elves are ineffectively immortal our souls stay in our bodies until we are buried near the tree that was planted upon our birth, with the potential that the children were turned to vampires, we fear that their souls will forever wander the earth.”
Kai sternly looked at the lady, “I will help you, to put your people at ease. But may you tell me where the vampires went?” the old woman smiled at the possibility of help, she pointed towards a mountain with trees growing on the edge, “There on the mountain of Harr, lies a cave entrance to a crypt of course the person is named after, originally it was filled with flowers, and beauty, but then the vampires took over.” Kai nodded with a slight smile, he looked at Sybil and Don, “You two sit back, I got this one.” Don looked at his dad worried, “You sure Dad, Vampires even if lower are pretty strong?” Kai nodded, turned around, and extended his hand, “I only just need to borrow a spell you might have.” Don nodded opened his strange book and handed it to his father, Kai looked through the pages and after several turns, he found the spell, he smiled and handed the book back, he turned away and held his sword close to his face, his sword glowed due to the magical use and after only a second he appeared in front of the cave, he began walking towards the entrance but stopped once he entered, as two vampires stood in front of him, quickly he saw corpses of armored men right next to them causing his heart to sink and him to aim his sword at the two angered “I was going to give you a chance but not anymore, say your final words.” He said angrily the two vampires smiled “Why should we say our final words if anything, you should say yours!” The vampire yelled, spawning multiple spears made from blood, they soon began launching.
Kai looked all around as they seemed to have a specific aim for different parts of his body, he made sure to charge his weapons and quickly deflected each spear, the vampires looked at him in terror the one who had thrown the blood spears looked at his buddy, quickly he held his hands up and the spear vampire did the same, the spears came back out from the rocks and began to head toward Kai with more spears appearing out of thin air, Kai began to jump back trying to dodge the spears he looked at each of them trying to devise whether they were real or some kind of illusion, Kai tried slashing through one, but it quickly went through it, and the spear had cut him, he tried slashing a different spear, but the same thing happened like the spear can turn from solid to liquid instantly, he slashed randomly but failed at blocking or destroying the spears, then he thought of an idea, he activated his blade and slammed his hand onto the floor “Piercing strike.” He said causing the ground to freeze and for spikes to form all around piercing the vampire's body, while the vampires were immobilized he walked over placing his hands on each of them “Holy flame.” He said forming a sort of blinding flame, covering the vampires, setting their evil-filled hearts ablaze and a magical flame dispersed their ashes, Kai looked at it in the works, yet he was still shocked, “Ahhh!!” A yell could be heard echoing through the cave, Kai looked over and began to run, enhancing his speed.
Suddenly he felt a nullifying effect and his speed was slowed to normal levels, he stopped and saw two vampires both were from years ago but seemed to have given themselves new clothes, with them now appearing as nobles, the brother walked forward with black armor and a black sword “Pass us human without heading our words, and you’ll learn to regret it.” He said his eyes glowing a shade of black Kai looked at his sword as it seemed to be losing its magical properties, the vampire duo grinned with an unforgettable expression “Like you, we come from a world different from this, like you, we too have a mark that destroyed our world, but there ends the similarity, as you have tried to silence the deafening voice of the shadow figure, we chose to embrace in his glory.” The woman said, raising her arm, several blood spears formed as well as a storm within the cave. Kai prepared turned around and ran hiding behind a rock, Kai looked at his sword his heart pounded when he saw something was happening to it, it was melting, as if something was taking away its magic, he looked over and saw the brother's eyes “He has to be doing this.” Kai said he stepped out from behind the rock, preparing his attack, but before he could do anything the vampiric vampire appeared before him placing his hand on his chest, a strange glow came from it, and it disabled Kai's movement, “You should have stayed away, after our last encounter. The vampire stepped closer to Kai biting into his neck, Kai although paralyzed he still felt the stinging sensation and the warm blood, dripping down his neck and down to the floor, pooling on the ground, he could feel the magic slip from him, as his sword faded away.
The sister walked closer “The difference between us, and you is we can survive without magic in this world, your people can’t.” the marking left Kai’s hand as it expanded fully throughout his body, pushing his magic out “I’ll let your magic finish your prophecy with that girl whilst I inhabit your body, the last thing Kai saw was his magical sword as it laid next to someone who looked like him, the shadow creature appeared “Don’t even try to stop me.” the male vampire stopped drinking and stepped back, Kai could barely move as the spirit took over and Kai suddenly began to fade as he lost control of his body, the spirit lifted his hand “All the gods will ascend and complete their prophecy, starting with Sybil.”
