Lavender walked toward the group of fairy children, and each of them had a unique marking that glowed due to magic use, as they practiced healing an injured animal Lavender looked at her test a bird with a broken wing “Come along Lavender, heal the bird.” Lavender walked toward the creatures and raised her hand over the creature, she began to concentrate magic over her palm, and unlike the others, she had no glowing markings like tattoos, all she had was a dark blue glow “Teacher, Lavender is using external magic!” someone reported, the teacher quickly headed over with a mad expression “Come on Lavender it isn't hard to use the magic inside you.” Lavender kept trying to use internal magic but failed no markings appeared on her skin like any other, the bird began to chirp but slowly it stopped moving, losing confidence she stopped using magic and the teacher looked even madder than before “You see why using internal magic is important, with external its unpredictable, when it's used by a fairy, humans and all other races can use it because they have no internal magic, and the way they use magic is different they sing spells, draw circles and symbols, and on a rare occasion like fairies they are silent at casting.” The teacher said one of the students stood up “it can’t it be helped teacher, everyone knows Lavender isn't a true fairy.” Lavender looked at the boy a child with markings like the pattern of a leopard, she then looked back at the bird and closed her eyes concentrating again, she opened her eyes and suddenly she could see hints of blue in her vision, the teacher looked at her shocked, suddenly the blue went from a dark green as the creature began to heal and come back from death, once it healed completely its eyes glowed green and it flew onto lavenders shoulder, in a sign of companionship.
The teacher in disgust cast a spell that flung fire at the creature and then grabbed Lavender's hand, pulling her to a tent with 3 others inside one was a woman with silver blonde hair and a baby in her arms, and next to her was an older man who seemed to bald. Then an unknown member, a man with some kind of blank mask showcasing the unknown nature of him, “What is the matter, Miss Cosnir?” The teacher in a fit of rage through Lavender to the ground the woman with the child seemed to care but not enough to stop what had happened “I’ve witnessed as well as some others seen Lavender Greene performing necromancy!” She yelled, Cosnir looked at the woman with the child and she looked back with a disappointed face “And what would you have us do Cosnir the Greene family is a respected family among our tribe having made a grand majority of our unique cleric spells, and her mother lady greyscale is the women who made our tribes barriers?” Cosnir looked somewhat confused about what to do anything to happened to Lavender would surely have blowback, suddenly the woman the child stood “Please Cosnir let me be the one to deal with the consequences of my daughter's actions, if we inform the gods she won’t be welcomed with the rest of her family.” Cosnir smirked, lavender clenched her teeth as she hated the women, she was a power-hungry woman first then a teacher last, for years she’d been trying to get lavenders mom off the commodity as after her it Cosnir in the line died to Lavender age.
“Let me take your place on the leadership and I’ll forget this.” The masked fellow slammed his hand “Consider you're being unreasonable for centuries the Black Forest tribe has always had either a Greyscale or a Greene on the leader group, as their family powers the barrier that surrounds and protects us.” CCorsairdidn’t seem to care as she reached out, frowned, and began to remove her leadership symbol, before she could give it to her, a lightning strike could be heard from not too far, the masked man began to stand as well and looked at Lavender with a terrified expression “Something has entered the barrier.” Mom looked at Lavender, lavender understood so she quickly stood up, she threw her sibling “Run!” She yelled lavender quickly caught her brother and turned and ran out of the camp, not long after a spell flew onto the tent and it exploded vaporizing everything inside, lavender saw the chaos that ensured that undead were everywhere killing as they went from tent to tent, she looked above and saw a semi decayed dragon breathing lightning, she began to run toward the entrance, seeing so many of her friends dying but she kept running til her arm was grabbed and she was stopped, she looked over with tears in her eyes thinking she and her brother had been done for but to her surprised it was her father. He looked at her with caring eyes “Lavender where’s your mom?” Instantly he knew as he looked at her face with tears falling “Go to the chapel, you remember the offensive and defensive spells We’ve taught you?” Lavender nodded but looked at her father concerned “I thought you said I shouldn’t use them!?” Dad smiled and patted Lavender's head “Times have changed, now go I’ll be behind you.” Lavender nodded she hugged her dad for a second then turned and ran.
Skeletons began to appear more on her path so she raised her only useable arm leaving it open like she was gonna grasp at something “Lightning arrows!” Her hands glowed and balls of lightning shot out, taking down 5 of the skeletons with the other five preparing to shoot arrows “Holy barrier.” She yelled slamming her hand in the air, the skeletons shot out their arrows but before they could reach them, a blue barrier formed.
She was gonna cast another spell when a lightning-fast sword user decapitated them, it was a boy their age who just seemed to be a little bit shorter than her, lavender smiled at his arrival “Markus!” The boy turned and sheathed his sword, lavender stopped running and he walked toward her “What’s happening?” Lavender asked Markus kept his hand on his sword as he looked up at the dragon which seemed to stop its attack, “That dragon attacked the barrier randomly, first weakening it then shattering it with its claws, then sometime after hordes of the skeleton appeared out in the forest, anyhow we must head to the chapel.” Markus said quickly, beginning to run, lavender followed. Not long after they arrived at a giant wooden tree it having been carved out and a door built, the chapel leader opened the door welcoming others, lavender and Markus were the last two to enter after that she entered as well and closed the door barricading it, lavender and Markus sat in a group full of other kids sitting and waiting “Lavender Greene!” She yelled Lavender looked up and stood up “Yes, Keeper?” The keeper held her back at the door as it was being attacked by the undead “Please cast a protection barrier on the door!” She yelled lavender began to walk over but Markus grabbed her hand and she looked over “Do you even remember the barrier spell?” Lavender looked over at the door as it slowly began to fall apart “No but I have to do something.” She walked over holding her hand up toward the gate, “Remember interior magic.” Markus yelled, lavender nodded closing her eyes, she felt a lightness as she began to concentrate, she slowly opened her eyes, shocked to see a barrier.
The keeper stood forward with a smile “We’re safe, everyone let us pray for this nightmare to be over.” She said placing her hand on her medallion a symbol of a book, stars, and runes before she could say much a speaker was thrown shattering the barrier and impaling the preacher through the chest, blood began to puddle around her as she looked at lLavenderscared, and at a loss, she fell to the floor and slowly began to die. Before anyone can mourn the banging at the door starts up again causing everyone to panic “The Keeper is dead what should we do?” One person said, “Why isn’t her barrier able to protect us.” Another said lavender looked at the corpse shocked, her vision was red due to the blood getting on her face, but she didn’t wipe it off all due to fear, she raised her hand the same as before preparing for an attack “Earth wall.” She said the floor began to shift and grow as it boarded up the door, she lifted her other hand to use the same spell as before, “Electrical arrow.” She said forming electrical bolts on each fingertip, the door broke and soon they began to attack the stone not long after though it began to get quiet, lavender powered down the spell, and he used her magic to take down the stone wall and that’s when she saw piles of the undead corpse some of them were people she used to know, a man walked inside with black armor and two black short swords “Are you all alright?” He said everyone looked at the man confused, he wasn’t an elf or fa airy instead he was a human, he sighed “I’m sorry for arriving so late… your people's sufferings are on my hands.” An older man stood up from the crowd “Who are you, Knight.” The man had said, the knight bowed and sheathed his sword “Galen Red-Scale from the great Empire of Eldoria, son of the lord of the village Tenin, and the 2nd of the three shields of Ryriel.” The same man slammed his foot “Impossible Eldorias capital is 21 days away from here!” He yelled
Galen chuckled softly “I know a shortcut or two, plus I had prior engagement with your leader specifically Miss Grayscale.” Lavender looked at him with an expression that showed she was a bit confused “What did you want to talk about with my mom?” Lavender said Galen looked around “This, your leaders saw this coming but they didn’t think it would happen so soon.”
Galen turned “Anyhow with half your population we should get going back to the closest village in Eldoria.” Lavender stepped forward but the others didn’t she looked back “Mister Galen is likely right no stranger could find their way easily in the Black Forest, my mom likely sent him a map of our location before everything.” The older man shrugged and walked forward as well causing everyone else to as well, they walked the streets and headed into the forest but suddenly not hours later the dragon from before slammed into the ground, when the smoke cleared everyone began to feel a sense of terror “An undead lightning dragon, let me deal with it.” Galen said he grabbed at his sword and began to cut away at the dragon but it didn’t seem to affect it, as it swatted him away like a fly soon after. It began to gather energy for its breath, lavender with fear tried to back back but stumbled upon Markus who felt no fear in the face of the dragon, and grabbed her shoulder “If you have to use necromancy use it while I get everyone out.”
Lavender turned toward him nodding, she held her hand out and began to attempt a spell of her own making, the area around the dragon's head glowed blue then her eyes glowed, lavender felt some putting limit but quickly began to attempt to break it but as she did her magic began to darken and turn a dark shade of cyan, the dragon tried to fight back, but failed a dark creature covered in clothing appeared from the mind of the creature “How can someone like you be this powerful?” It said slowly it disappeared and caused lavender to fully take over the mind of the dragon. A voice lingered in the air as if giving something up, lavender didn’t understand until blood began to come out from her mouth and she began to lose consciousness.
