We were walking slowly along the streets of the town.
"I still have a hard time understanding today's events. Hmm... How could fate have changed so much. It's not our doing, so in that case it's Altair's fault." Ethen expressed his thoughts.
"Apart from that fact, there is always one more mystery."
"Hm?" I mumbled.
"In this past that we experienced, Altair wasn't the only being that came to life. Of course, they weren't exacly like Altair, but these inhabitants also... are immigrants from other planets."
"How did you figure that out?"
Ethen touches his chin with his hand and observes each step he takes.
A moment of silence passes.
"...That's not important anymore..." He answers Lytia's question.
I looked at Ethen's side profile with a grimace. I folded my hands behind my back.
He hides a lot of things from me, and I don't know how to ask him a specific question so that he answers me in the way I expect. He's a suspicious guy.
I returned to my previous position while walking.
"Alexandria isn't as far from our home as it may seem. Before, when we wanted to get here, we'd circled the same areas in the forest many times." I spoke up.
(Ethena thinks:)
Where did this creature get such an important artifact? I thought it was just one of the smarter beasts, but still... hmm...
I kept watching Ethen walk around lost in thought. For a moment, I myself began to wonder about the idea that the people around us here aren't human. This world has interesting things to offer.
"Getting back to what you mentioned earlier. Did you mean that these people around us aren't really human, but aliens?"
"Exactly."
When I heard the confirmation of this thesis, something suddenly started to bother me. So who are these people? And who was I talking to earlier? After all, that woman looked like an innocent and ordinary adult woman.
Ethen put his hand forward, and five small black objects appeared on his palm. They were the size of a tea bag... I mean, it doesn't matter. I can't think of a better comparison. Their structure was quite interesting.
Wow, he can do such magic?
I was fascinated by it.
"What are these?"
"Small bugs to monitor the area and a teleporter."
Ethen clenches his fist and 5 bugs disappear from his hand.
"Wait, where did you get such things. I thought this planet didn't have such advanced technology to offer?!" I stood in front of Ethen blocking his path, I was too frustrated.
Ethen gave me a firm look.
I can never figure out this man's thoughts and intentions.
The expression on his face was enough to inform me that he had no intention of answering my question.
"I told you I'm a scientist."
That was the only answer I got. The answer, which was also considered its correct form, but it didn't justify my doubts.
"For now, we have to go back. Because of this research, I have a lot of work to do."
When we got home, it was already late evening.
The whole way I wondered about aliens and the fact that we couldn't just teleport.
I opened the door to the modest cottage.
The first thing my eyes noticed was Sydia, who was lying on the couch across and reading a book. Laen was sitting next to her, who wanted to see what Sydia was so fascinated with at all costs. The elf was sitting in such a position so as not to show the boy the novel on purpose. Laen didn't give up, despite everything.
Watching them, I felt nice. It wasn't until about five seconds after opening the door that both of them realized that we had returned.
Ethen didn't exchange a single word between them. The first thing he did after entering the building was to immediately go to his lab.
This place must be like his quiet and comfortable corner for him.
"Oh! Hello Lytia! You're back late." Sydia shouted when she noticed me. She was still in a position to not show the contents of the book to Laen under any circumstances.
The world can be divided into "two hemispheres of the same planet". The first is ordinary people living on planets.
And what about the second part?
Some beings in the universe do not have their own place, so they live with people on the same planet. There would be no problem with that, but a being with the power of God among mortals? Fortunately, no one in society knows about "these beings", so they live in peace, and these beings do not reveal their identity. Sometimes, however, this can involve serious problems.
Lytia, woke up in the "forest of the Beasts". She does not remember anything from her adventure so far, but she knows one thing, that she has lost her magic and must regain it. She only remembers the man with white hair who brought her to this place. Why did he decide to leave her completely alone in such a place?
