Waking her up, were the loud knocks on her apartment’s metallic door.
“Hm..!?”
Groaned Ilinca, quickly waking up from her bed, facing her eyes towards the door, even though she couldn’t see, while she put her bandage over her eyes.
“What’s the time? It feels weird… not knowing when it is day and when it’s night. It really confuses me sometimes”
Sighted Ilinca, yawning and fixing her hair from all angles with both of her hands, fixing her springy fine hair.
The knocks were faster and louder
“I’m coming–”
Ilinca interrupted herself and quickly reached for the toque with her sword in it, which was supported by the entrance of the bathroom’s door. Ilinca slowly took the sword halfway, placed it behind her. She was ready for some action.
Breaking the door open for a few inches, Ilinca heard the loud voices of her friends, which all had pale-yellow imaginary necklaces which only Ilinca could see.
“Haaaapy Birthdaaaaay Tooo–!”
All shouted with their joyful voices. Four boys and one girl, all around her age.
Ilinca was so confused that she didn’t know on what part of the world she was, that’s how sleepy she was, but when she heard them be at “toooo-”, she came back to reality and gave out a joyful expression on her face
Her friends continued singing the jolly Birthday song, and the scene transitions to them sitting in the main living room, with the other girl filming all of them, but mostly her unpacking the presents.
They all sat; some on the couch and some on the carpet situated on the parquate cold floor.
Monologues start appearing, and while they do, the events of Ilinca’s Birthday are happening, but the laughter and dialogues are muffled at that time.
*I’m so happy whenever I think about them. My friends from the clan*
Monologues Ilinca
“Ahahah… look at her face, I can!”
Exclaimed one of the boys, pointing at her and laughing uncontrollably, after Ilinca placed a present, which was an item that you place on your head, and for this context, it was an item with cat ears.
The boys were laughing loudly when Ilinca placed the item with cat ears, on her head, and the girl chuckled, trying not to laugh too
Ilinca had a grumpy look on her face, staying like a scolded daughter of a parent on a Christmas night after she didn’t like the present.
*They help me get through everything, just like being hunted daily by bounty hunters and people that can’t stop staring at a college girl, which sadness me so really hard, making me feel uncomfortable inside*
*This right here should be daily life I am living, a normal life, this is all I wanted… but instead it’s this–”
The scene changes to the jumping faces of a few people screaming, each of them switching after one second after they were shown. Switching between different genders, and looks.
“ILINCA ADAM-
“ILINCA ADAM-
“ILINCA ADAM-
“I CHALLENGE YOU-
“I CHALLENGE YOU-
“TO A BATTLE
The scene now changes to a more grim setting, and in a more closed location/
The scene changes to a different vibe. It was directed on Demo, a man standing in red-colored water which got up to his knees. There were also a lot of soulless injured bodies floating on the red-water, but a lot of them were also just thrown around. The soulless bodies had white outfits damaged with the heavy and long cuts, and also dyed to a dark red and soaked up with the red-water.
The robotic voice of a woman talked in the background of the two large and endless looking walls, which also echoed towards the endless roof. The was also barely lighted up by a few lamps giving out the color bright red, protected by a metal cage. Nothing in the back, front and up could not be seen because of a black color transitioning itself, hiding itself from the eyes of him.
“Demo. Kill count 1559”
“May I speak, “High Guide?”
Said Demo with a deep and intimidating voice. His eyes focused and zoned out. His outfit couldn’t really be mentioned as an outfit, it was more of a fit so that he wouldn’t be fully naked.
No shoes. Long and skinny white pants. No shirt. His left arm and faced, all bandaged up and his left arm missing. His hair is long and fine and he is well formed. Skinny but athletic looking.
“You may, Demo”
Continued High Guide
“Why am I sending all of these people to Heaven? Please answer me… I have to know”
Said Demo with a more soft voice, prepared to cry at any moment.
The High Guide laughed and told him that he will know the truth to everything soon enough.
The place was filled with soulless injured bodies, and a river of blood filled the ground, all the way to Demo’s knees.
That joyful and laughing voice, now suddenly turned dark and dangerous
“Now back in THE EXTENSION!”
Shouted the voice, bugging with delays of voice while the two words, “The” and ‘Extension” were mentioned.
“No! Don’t go! I don’t like it there! PLEASE!”
Shouted a desperate voice inside Demo’s mind.
Demo looked towards the rusty iron door that just opened on the pure white wall.
He stared at his sword, focusing all his vision on it. A sword that was thin and one meter long, and which didn’t had a normal handle, so the entire item was just one material. Sharp from the middle up, in both sides.
“This weapon is my soul, and the soul is my weapon. Living is a myth, and I live to serve and nothing more”
Repeated Demo, zoning off from his sword. While sweat mixed with the scent of blood, was covering his entire body, soaking his powers and skin, combination with him wheezing, being totally out of breath.
A bright flash covered his sight, unwillingly sending himself inside his mind, where a flashback was redacted.
There was almost no noise, only the sound of the sea gulls singing, flying in different angles and directions, the sound of the sea waves sliding up and down in the fine and warm sand.
It was a sunny day. Demo was passing the ball with his mother
“Riiight, that’s it, Keron!”
Joyfully and squeakily said his mother in a high pitched voice, at young Demo.
While his father waited for them under the umbrella that played as protection from the sun. Sat on a long colored towel, being with three plastic plates filled with carbs, meat and salads, as well as many drinks inside a bright orange container, filled with ice to keep them cold as much as possible. A small percentage of their luggages, just like phones, a bag that was filled with only essentials, was situated behind Demo’s father.
The two ran towards the man. Small Keron and his mother were playing catch with a colored plastic ball filled with air, which transitioned into a running contest in Kenny winning, but his mother didn’t even let him.
Laughs of joy from the two of them and the commentary of the father, talking about their race filled the warm air and the background, while the scene flies towards the sky, into another scene from an abandoned train, stuck inside a big hole from the ground, with green vines, grass, and thick and pointy crystals filling up the hole, instead of being just dirt.
The warm air also filled the background of the time, and the clouds covered the sun, so the weather was just good for a hangout.
“Mason, finish it so I can take a picture!”
Said Demo with a joyful voice, holding up his phone so that he can take a picture, while being only a few meters away from the train, on which there were written different signs in graffiti, and a brand new one, a long one, drawn by Mason, the friend that was the same age as him, sitting right on top of the train, over his drawing, showing himself like he did an something great that will be remembered for ages, because it is engraved on the train.
“You like it Keron? It looks just like us!”
Smilingly said Mason, after Keron took the picture and lowered his phone, admiring the final drawing
“I don’t look like that, and neither do you. It looks more like… two Bigfoot doing an epic fist-bump”
Said Demo, tilting his head, trying to guess what was drawn, and giving out a quick chuckle afterwards
“Wha–?”
Exclaimed Mason, where a laugh has stopped him from continuing his sentence.
These images were blurry, more headed towards a vague landscape, yet, still, in every moment, Demo could feel himself enjoying every single moment, as well as a an uncooked loaf of bread filling the missing and empty place inside his heart.
The scenery comes back to the same dark and grim place, with Demo staying in front of the opened rusty iron door, with no emotions at all; only thing knowing is that he has to make the entrance.
Two steps after, Demo dropped down on his knees, splattering the blood river all over the walls and on his body, screaming as loud as his lungs were capable of going, while grabbing his head as hard as he could, by clawing his fingers around his skull.
The robot of the lady continued in the background. It was an artificial intelligence, but inside it’s voice, a sight of exhaustion and annoyment could be heard along her digital vocal cords.
“Project number 229. Status: failed. Repeat? : Immediately. Guards, take care of this one”
Ten exact people, with a thick build, dressed in black clothes so that their bodies can’t be seen, and armed up with small and large guns, preparing themselves in case something goes wrong, entered the long room
“Elf zone made its way”
Whispered one man, which seemed like the leader, inside his walkie talkie, right before he hired his small handgun towards Demo.
“PUT HIM BACK TO “THE EXTENSION”! “
Shouted the same leader, not taking his sight away from Demo; keeping a constant and angered sight towards him.
Now arrived, two meter away from Demo, the men let a little space between them. The leader looked behind him, at the two men, one rank lower than him, and showed them two hand signs, with the use of his two biggest fingers.
The two men nodded and prepared their positions, cornering Demo from every angle possible, all pointing their guns at him.
The leader took a big and thick syringe from the pocket of his black cargo pants, wanting to sting Demo in the back of his neck with.
“Nothing personal, project, just business”
The trigger was pulled and the gun exploded into the man’s hand, splattering his blood and flesh all around him, even getting into his eyes, blinding him for the continuing moments.
He screamed out loud out of agony and pain, kneeling down and bending his back, holding his injured arm with his other hand, while the other guards, on point, prepared to pull the gun, and some of them did it, getting the same fate as the leader, but for most of these men, by having big guns, they exploded and injured their entire upper body, dying instantly.
A shower of blood continued and Demo was bathing unintentionally in it. He highered his sight. His eyes were zoned out, empty. His arms and upper body were fully flexed, filled with veins, pumping blood ten times faster than a normal human’s.
“YOU DAMN SNOTTY BRAT! I’LL GET YOU FOR THIS!”
Shouted another guard, taking out his long knife from the holder, stabbing Demo right in his heart.
Demo looked down at the knife that penetrated his heart, and slowly looks up at the guard with his exhausted eyes, and ragingly slams both of his palms on his left and right part of his skull, making it into mush on impact, just like mashed potato, but with a mix of blood, skin, flesh and a “blood balloon” pop-ish effect on impact.
The remaining guards alive, backed up a little bit, with fright and awe in their eyes, not knowing if they can make it out alive or not. Preparing to run away, shouting while breathing heavily, they all got killed in the process, right before they would exit the room, in front of the lighted up staircases. They got killed by the same devilish Demo; wildly biting parts of their body and spitting them out on the pool of blood, ripping off their heads and arms just by one drag of his shoulder, after he locked his hand on their cartilages.
Climbing up the stairs, all covered in blood and with the wound in his heart healed up entirely, left with a scar instead of a single skin coverage, Demo made it’s way, breathing heavily and uncontrollably, towards the next stage of the entire place, or will that be the exit?
