Chapter 19: shadow under the tree 

Viven is sitting underneath a tree, a beautiful Lucious green leafed tree. He closes his dark eyes, the shadow of the trees covering his face. The green grass under his fingertips , the breeze wonderful against his skin.

He feels a small poke on his nose, he opens his eyes, his vision blurry at first. 

“ Wake up” , It’s Diz, poking Vivens nose sitting up right.

“ hm? Is something wrong?” Viv asks slowly, sitting up himself. Diz shrugs,

“ About the plan” he explains. All he speaks about is the plan, why can’t he just enjoy the moment?” Viv thinks to himself. All of this just for something that happened all those years ago. He guesses even if he wants to destroy the celestials, couldn’t he find the time to not think about it? 

“ Did you get all that?” Diz asks startling Viv a bit as he nods fiddling with his hands. Diz places a hand on Vivs shoulder.

“ You alright now?” He asks.

“ Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just, why continue this? I mean , your brother died a long time ago? I get that you don’t like the celestials but, why try to do all of this? Why..” Viven sighs, grabbing Dizs hands in his. 

“Let’s just, stop this whole revolution thing Diz, don’t let the celestials still haunt you. We can be happy even without them, Diz-“ 

“ Stop,” Diz says, taking his hands away, Viv desperately wanting to hold on. He grips dizs whole arm.

“ Diz please” he pleads, Diz just shakes his head.

“ This is my goal, and I shall succeed” he pauses standing looking at Viv below him. 

“ Maybe when they’re all gone, maybe we can. You're my trusted one after all” He says with a slight chuckle, the line echoing in Vivs mind. The line always stuck in the back of his mind even if he didn’t know. When he kills them all, they’ll only be him left, he could finally be rid of all those worries. He could be happy with him and him alone. That’s all he could ever wish for.

Even after all their arguments and even departure. Vivien knows how he wants the ending to be. He will have his happy ending no matter what obstacles are present.
