Days just pass: dawn till morning, dusk till night.

Trick or treat? Do they ever ask?

She's standing in the hallway, tears glistening in her eyes.

She wanted to scream, but, shut her mouth so tight.

Surrounded by ambiguities, queries undefined,

She yearned for a swim but drowned, intertwined.

Silence hung heavy; she fell on her knees.

Moonlight wove a tapestry, amazingly evergreen.

He ran through the hallway to grab her,

Forgetting how he lost his grasp on her.

He begged her to speak, to scream, to weep.

She was all innocent yet started doing all three.

He hugged her so tight; she wanted to let go.

If letting go were a choice, she would've said no.

But it was a need.

How to discard oneself, though?

Is this behaviour?

A disregard, after all?

He offered her an apology, as if it were just a word,

Ignoring all the suffering she'd endured.

Tears fell from her eyes as a gushing river flows.

Am I the one who suffers and cries the most?

That's not fair; suffering's my share.

Darkness surrounded her; mist filled the air.
