The kids were forced to use the same toothbrush for years. They rarely had soap to take a shower, so they sometimes used shampoo or dishwasher soap to bathe. The hygiene was so bad that the girls' teeth were messed up for life, even though they were only 18 years old. The neglect can come if different ways, from not feeding the child to not giving them the tools for hying, not being able to protect the child, and I can assure you the monsters fit every category. 

She remembers vividly almost every time an altercation took place in that house, The evil man would pull her from her hair, lift her or drag her by the hair, punch, slap. She would throw up from the pain after beatings, and cry till it felt like her eyes might bleed. No child deserves to be scared she might die every day from a beating, no teenage girl should be scared to shower, nobody should be scared of their parents and house. The scariest time was at night when mom went to sleep because even tho she let sexual abuse pass she didn't let him kill us by beating us, she would let him beat us until we lost conscience or we were bleeding, that was the stopping point. 

It was a sunny day, and birds singing, felt like it might be a normal day but it wasn't or maybe it was the girl could not know, days would blend onto a mush, cry, bleed, sleep, repeat.
