The Only Child Thereafter

Yetunde and her hubby enjoyed several opportunities and fortunes from the father in-law and the rest members of the family. She was a wife proud of by Segun too.

Yetunde was a brilliant daughter of honour. She finished her studies with First Class from the UniIlorin. She enjoyed her sole-life without exhibiting any thrift attitude. What a highly disciplined and cool headed wife?

Yetunde was the overall best student from her faculty. Her brilliance was without measures. The gift of establishing a Radio Station was the promise of the father-in-law on the graduation day aside from other special awards granted.

‘’If lie travels for twenty years, one day the truth will overtake’’ says a Yoruba adage!

Let us wait patiently and see.

The photographer will one day come up with the image or picture captured with his camera.

Nothing is hidden under heaven. One day the plain truth of every matter will be widely exposed including the very serious evil done in the past hidden and not revealed.

Really, a time would come in the nearest future that The Sealed Secret will be blown widely open. Will it be palatable? It is just a matter of time for the vagabond to identify himself in the house of honour and prestige.

Despite her advancement in age, Yetunde never lost her appealing. If you should come across Madam Yetunde; the mother of one issue at home or in the public. You think, what a golden under eighteen girl! She’s got everything going for her: good looks, charm, and intelligence.

Both Segun and Yetunde had wealth to a reasonable standard. They lived in opulence; eating four times as much food as their body requires.

 As it was slated and arranged by destiny, the teenager boy Junior; the son promising of Segun grew up rapidly. As a fast growing child, he started schooling at a very tender age.

He was a talented and gutsy boy that the parents were proud of. Almost everything about his growth was amazing and very unique. Junior was a versatile and lovely child like her mother.

Unfortunately, both Yetunde and Segun did not have any other child after Junior was born few years back. This was not planned at all or in tensional.

As a woman and mother, it was discovered that Yetunde could not get pregnant for a while. It was a rife. All frantic efforts made by the couples failed woefully. They were at a crossed road.

Every step taken has been in futility. Actually, Junior was ripped to have another kith and kin behind him but it was unrealistic. Yetunde was temporarily barren but hopeful.

 The issue at stake demands a prompt attention from the serious minded couples.

Actually, when an orange is sweet and juice, eating more than one is most likely to happen.

The sweetness of honey is never rejected by the tongue.

 You can’t sweep the floor of a house once and expect it clean for life!

The experiences of life are usually continuous or often repeated.

Both Segun and Yetunde desired and cherished having additional child. But all their efforts on the issue were like pouring water on the outer side of an egg. It will not hold.

Segun believed in figures as a chartered accountant, with clear understanding and the insights of multiple figures. ‘’One’’ as regards asset is never a comfortable zone and highly risky.

A child was not the best for the young couples. However, no individual can outrun or ran pass the mark of destiny. Every journey must have a specific destination.

Life and the experiences are lessons to behold for the wise. The prudent with native wisdom will tap constantly from the best teacher referred to as ‘’Experience.’’

Experience, they say is the best teacher today!

Nobody is older than his or her experiences of destiny. What will be; will be?

Sometimes, what is bound to happen will be? What is written is written already. We are only making efforts! In fact, our experiences are just the simple interpretation of destiny.

In life, difficulties mastered are opportunities won. Every situation has its own benefits if well managed.

Indeed, no one can force a ripped coconut to fall. There is time for everything under the sun.

The fact remains, Junior the only child of Segun may be due to have followers behind him. However, the reality of such expectation looks like a mere dream for now. The couples search for additional teenager has been fruitless.

‘’Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a real blessing’’ [Psalm.127:3] 

Every child is a heritage from the Lord. What a wonderful privilege it is for parents to rear the next generation! Children are blessed when they have parents who loved them and taught them how to manage their money.

Proverbs 22:6 says, ‘’Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.’’

Despite, Yetunde was never a cranky woman!  Conspicuously, the tummy of Yetunde also appeared big without foetus inside. The rain of a new infant seized for a while. This is an incontrovertible fact.

In the process, the two couples sought for spiritual solution by visiting the prophets and attending mountain tops for fervent prayers and counselling.

 A barren-woman desperately looking for additional child will not sleep at home all the time. It was like a constant dripping on a rainy day.

 With God all things are possible. If we can pray; something will happen! Those who do not pray deprive themselves of the blessings that only God can give!

In addition to finding help spiritually, the couples took a bold step further by going for medical attention to detect if anything went wrong with any of them.

As a result, Yetunde underwent series of tests and medical treatments. They even took some herbs as recommended. Her heart was heavy for not having additional child of her own.

It was confirm that the couples are medically fit to produce additional kid. The seizure was temporary. They only have to wait for God-the embodiment of divine strength!

At an appropriate time in the sight of God, the joy of a new child will visit their castle again. The blessing of childhood will one day be bestowed on them eventually. They just need to be patient for a while. It is never late in the sight of God to do it for them.

Since no one can stop the wind or hold unto anything with oil-slick hands; what is destiny to happen to a man will eventually become a history to be told like folk-lore!

To have rest and peace of heart, don’t fight the facts of nature. It is a battle that cannot be won!

In life, a rich man can buy virtually anything but not a biological child. 

The couples waited and waited. The story remained the same. When human efforts failed on an issue of life the best will be to result to fate and forge ahead. Tough times never Last! But the Tough People Do!

A long the line, both Segun and Yetunde were appreciative  to God almighty that did not allow them to engage in the devilish thought of terminating the pregnancy of  Junior that came at an odd time years back when the mother was an under graduate in the university then.

‘’All things work for good. If not, regrets would have been our potion now.’’ 

Thankfully both couples acknowledge the fact, and consoled themselves further.

Since the situation remained as usual. The couples were yet to make any headway in their struggles to have additional child.

 Segun as elite accepted it and resolved to fate. He did not give himself any further headache again. Instead, He faced squarely other pursuit of life with his other half.

‘’After all, a man with a son cannot be declared barren or childless in the society’’.

The adoring Yetunde voiced out happily and cheerfully in one of their discussions as husband and wife!

As the little-boy Junior grew-up rapidly, Segun was getting elevation in his place of work. Yetunde’s business too was booming with huge and bountiful contracts. The splendid of life was to the favour of both couples. Things were stunning for them in the society. They were experiencing divine blessings that made them multiply like the stars.
