The Promise Kept Intact

During that weekend, Yetunde eagerly came to pick her boy Junior back home so that he could attend the Sunday service at Redeemed Gospel Church International. Actually, Junior will be leading the children choir at the harvest service.

The absence of the boy almost made Segun sick. He was used with the son. Yetunde’s visit to pick the lad was with the consent of her husband.

Apparently, when Yetunde was with Segun’s father, the wife was not at home. She had travelled to Lagos to attend a wedding. The grandma was not likely to return until Sunday afternoon after service.

On sighting Yetunde, the wife of Segun, the guru billionaire politician saw the visitation as a chance again to re-enforce some things. The faint hearted Segun’s father tactically enquired from Yetunde solemnly if she ever told Junior or anyone else about what they had together in the past; simply because of the strange, nasty, funny behaviours exhibited by her boy to him during the short-stay. Yetunde was enraged by the sensitive statements from her father-in-law.

‘’No sweetie…you should count on me’’

Yetunde assured her father-in-law with a lovely smile.

The mother of Junior further explained to the aged grandpa that she was not pleased or at peace with the approval granted her son to stay behind with them for the short stay

‘’Sir, to be candid, if not because there was no option for me on that very day; I would have not have released my son for the short stay’’

 In a hushed voice, Yetunde declared boldly!

Junior is such a strange child…he could sometimes be rude or probing.

‘’He could bellicose most especially when cautioned against his mind.’’

The mother of Junior told plainly Segun’s father and she apologised for any embarrassments caused by the lad during the hang about.

‘’I ‘II charm him against doing such next time please’’

 Be rest assured and trust me….

‘’Hey, how come tell anybody about my mistake…what will be wrong with me to disclose such secret to anybody living or dead…never…never…never…I’m not daft!’’

Yetunde said further in a serious mood.

Segun’s father smiled as Yetunde coyly winked suggestively at him. The secret lives of sweet hearts met again. What a big chance to chill out some pending matters!

Meanwhile, Yetunde the wife of Segun denied out rightly ever informing anybody how she was raped by the politician in the past.

‘’Our secret remained a secret and it must be secretly kept and preserved for ever’’

Yetunde authoritatively pronounced.

 ‘’Haba, when am not a kid or inexperienced. What do I stand to gain from making the declaration of such sacred act?

‘’Rubbish, I can’t be so foolish or daft! ‘’

The amity between the two of them was so hidden like a Sealed Secret that was hard to blow open by mere person unharmed.

Yetunde was not sort of words any longer. She told grandpa that the deal between them had been died and buried for quite a long time and nobody can uproot it again.

With the statements of assurance from Yetunde, the troubled politician who foresaw danger with the boy Junior‘s unusual utterances became relief. The soaring tension in his heart vamoosed like a deflated balloon instantly. The man’s high blood pressure became normal right away.

Segun’s father was extremely delighted with Yetunde at that instant. He was gladly happy for having secret affairs with a matured woman; with better understanding unlike some others.

Cheerfully, he drew Yetunde closer to himself and gave her a romantic kiss.

‘’You will surely see my hand of favour before you reach home today for keeping the sealed secret intact’’

The billionaire politician assured Yetunde.  He was highly elevated from what he heard from Junior’s mother.

Thereafter, light aromatic refreshment was offered to appetizer Yetunde after they had exchanged banters for a while over bottles of red wine, stick meat and snacks.

A meal of frivolous pounded yam was served with apricot to crown the length engagement. They both ate the sacrificial meal together.

The housefly that is freely drinking wine inside the king’s cup will one day get drunk and soaked.

A woman should not forget the bottle of rat poison on the dining table; it could be assumed to be a juice for the dinner!

In the scenario, the boy Junior with unique hindsight appeared to have occupied himself with the giant-size Teddy-bear purchased for him as Greek gift by the grandfather as promised. He was bystander!

When both Yetunde and grandpa were staying together; they took the kid for granted. What a blatant error! Underscoring Junior doing a chid-play at the small waiting room, they be-little Junior as a small boy.

They assumed that he does not understand vaguely what was going on! He was almost absent minded to the scenario. Indeed, there was relatively a closed standing meeting and lengthy nefarious discussions between Yetunde, the mother of Junior and Segun’s father on that Saturday.

However, it is only the almighty God that can expose precisely the concealed actions of a father-in-law that turned himself to a surgical-doctor overnight behind closed door with his son’s beloved wife.

Anyway, nothing is strange again under the sun. It is a common practise elsewhere unchecked!

The hungry cat can swallow a tasty meat if placed within reach. But with the caution of aftermath, a dog should scare away from eating all the found dead-meat so as not to swallow poison as tasty soft meat freely.

 Life is delicate and should not be managed anyhow.

‘’Hey Yetunde, I always lose my sense each time I sighted your image…I have nightmare because of you nearly every day’’

Segun’s father confessed deeply in appreciation of Yetunde…the fresh African Beauty…An angel in human skin living at heartland of Ibadan.

‘’That will be for another day; the road is not clear’’

-Hearten Yetunde pleasurable discharged her father-in-law demand for sexual intercourse in aplomb audaciously. However, the deal was too dark for anyone to get a clearer picture.

Fortunately, without any overstatement, gaily Yetunde enjoyed fortified love and care from grandpa. Fortunes smile on her for the past years as vowed by the billionaire. The aged man was not sort of fulfilling his earlier promises of good care for Yetunde, the wife of Segun.

The showers of raw cash and splendour gifts amazingly flowed like a stream regularly for several months. Yetunde was extremely fostered by her father-in-law without gauge or any limitation. There was nothing demanded from Segun’s father by the woman that were not provided or made available for years.

The father-in-law was like a Father Christmas to the woman. Every day was raining raw cash for her in one way or the other. He sincerely demonstrated his deeper interest, desire, best wishes, love, kindness and affection graciously for Yetunde.

Undoubtedly, the big fortunes were boldly settled permanently with Yetunde as influenced by Segun’s father. Indeed, Yetunde’s life presented a series of striking events and experiences of poverty and wealth. She inherited and enjoyed unlimited wealth accumulation.

The cash tap like an ATM was flowing and dropping money into Yetunde’s pursue until it got fattened up within a short span.

Anyway, the hidden love together with the sealed secret remained a covenant and bond between Yetunde and the generous Ibadan-based politician who refused to grow old.
