"Tsk! What a rubbish cabin this is!" I recalled what I had just thought as her eyes scanned the room with coldness in her eyes and her speech, in contrast to her noble appearance, resembled the whining of a spoilt brat.
"If this is the place my father has prepared for his beloved daughter, I am quite disappointed. How can he be so stingy with all that wealth!"
"My lady!" I had just noticed a woman speaking in an agitated manner and a servant standing behind her. The young woman carrying large suitcases in both hands was trying to soothe the young lady's complaints with a helpless smile on her face.
The maid's efforts to calm her down must have worked to some extent because the young lady sat on the seat opposite me without complaining any more. When she looked at me with thorns in her eyes and grunted, I realized that she did not like sharing a cabin with a stranger.
Judging from the way she spoke and the way she dressed, it was obvious that she was a noble lady from a high aristocracy. However, I did not understand why such a person was here when she should be in the first-class cabins.
As I took my eyes off them and started to open and read the information brochure next to the seat, the train started to move with a loud horn sound.
The train shook at first, but as it gained speed, the shaking disappeared. Tickets for the Droan train were not expensive for nothing. The high price was beyond the purchasing ability of an ordinary person, and the speed and comfort level were different from ordinary steam locomotives.
The view outside the transparent window quickly passed by me. The snow was piled high and the coniferous trees stood firmly in the snow. The white snow covering the mountain was so beautiful that it naturally attracted my attention.
However, after watching it for about 10-20 minutes, I got bored because it became boring. I took out the newspaper that was stuck next to the brochure and opened it.
There were no laptops or smartphones in the world, so the only things I could use to kill time were books and newspapers.
[Princess Heylina, the witch of the Kingdom of Zackar, was executed.]
[Second Prince appointed crown prince.]
Such news was widely reported on the front page of the newspaper. The Kingdom of Zackar was located in the north of the Arcena Empire. Until recently, there had been a civil war, and many mercenaries had gathered in the Kingdom of Zackar because of Princess Heylina's rebellion.
Among the black lettering was a black and white photograph; it was a photograph of the Second Prince's group declaring victory in the war.
"So the civil war in the Kingdom of Zackar is over."
A voice was heard from beyond the newspaper. I slightly lowered the newspaper covering my face and looked at the young girl in front of me. I did not expect this disgruntled lady to speak to me, and I guess neither did her maid, who was looking at her master with wide-open eyes. If she asked me directly, I couldn't ignore it, so I opened my mouth.
"Yes. I was wondering when it would be over. I'm glad it's over sooner than I thought."
"I honestly expected Princess Heylina to accomplish something after she threw the country into chaos, but the result was disappointing," she clicked her tongue. "Still, I'm glad it ended early."
Princess Heylina, the princess of the Kingdom of Zackar, was known as a witch, as the newspaper reported.
The first prince and all her family members on her mother's side had been executed by her half-brother, the second prince. But why is this lady discussing sensitive matters of another country with a foreigner? Is she, contrary to appearances, a fool?
Thirty years ago, when everything in my world was falling apart and I was lost, I found myself in a different dimension.
I stole different bodies to survive, but I could not stay in any of them for more than four years.
Miraculously, however, the body I had just acquired seemed to match my soul. The only problem was that this person was hated by her family and many other people around her.
Would I be able to survive in the body of such a person and hide my identity?
