The peculiar thing about Ruiying is that when she closes her eyes at 10:30 pm, no amount of noise or distractions can awaken her. One could tie her up and throw her down the Zhuoshui River and she would still remain asleep until the clock strikes 5:30 am. So in between Ruiying's precious seven hours, she is dead to the world. Unfortunately for her, the world does not stop for the princess's beauty sleep, and that morning at 5:30 am, Ruiying saw the consequences of her quirk manifested in a text message.

[Xu Jiashu. 23. Manager:

Due to your silence and my upcoming deadline, I have finalized your schedule!

Here is your simplified schedule for today!

6:00 am - 10:00 am: Meeting with writer, director, and co-stars

- Destination is: Grand Hyatt, it is a 20-minute drive, including traffic, I will be downstairs waiting at 5:30 am.

- You should have a basic understanding of your character, Xia Yanzhi, and the impactful scenes in the series

- You are also expected to socialize and add constructive criticism to your fellow co-workers, including Qin Yueyan

- Do not forget to take notes and ask questions about things you are unsure about

10:10 am - 12:30 pm: Press Conference

- This press conference will be regarding ReTry

- Be aware that they may ask personal questions, including your rules. I know you are careful with your language, however, you must know that the people around you might not be well accustomed to it and you might have to take control of the situation

- Make sure to sell your ship #IvyLuna

12:30 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch

-I am not evil, enjoy your lunch!

- You must have it with Qin Yueyan and make sure to do fanservice!

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Acting workshop

- I have moved your classes so that you will attend with Qin Yueyan

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Film study

- You must study with Qin Yueyan and take a picture to post on SNS

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Character study

- You must once again study with Qin Yueyan as your characters rely on each other to push the narrative forward.

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Dinner

- Enjoy with Qin Yueyan

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Teaser Trailer meeting

- Follow similar instructions as those in the first meeting

9:00 pm - 9:50 pm: Script revisions

-Short revisions with director, writer, and coworkers

9:50 pm - 10:10 pm: Drive home

- Enjoy rushing to go to sleep!

As Ruiying glanced at the current time she couldn't help but curse out the evil Jiashu.

Ruiying quickly ran to change her outfit and brushed her teeth at the same time. She put on her shoes and headed out the door while grabbing a piece of plain bread for breakfast. Ruiying had never had such a messy schedule in her life. To her order is peace, and as a result, it meant a war had been sparked in her tiny world.

As she entered the small van a light and raspy voice hurriedly welcomed her,

"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty. Hurry up, I've been waiting here since 5:35!"

Ruiying rolled her eyes as her power-corrupted manager came into view. Her hair was jet black like hers, however, that is where the similarities ended. Her manager had a more flirty charm contrasting the colder more stoic Ruiying. Jiashu's hair carried a certain messiness yet it had a certain neatness to its flow. She was lean and tall, and her eyes were bright and energetic almost like a fawn. She had light dark circles underneath her eyes that complemented her equally dark brown eyes. She was in a light red zipped-up windbreaker and baggy cargo strap pants.

"I see you finally tackled that bird's nest."

"I see you didn't."

"What?" Ruiying quickly pulled down the van's sun visor mirrors.

"Got you!"

Ruiying just sighed as she closed the visor back up and revised her schedule.

"Jiashu."

"Yes?"

"Can I fire you?"

"No."

"Pity."

"Come on, RuiRui. Lighten up."

"How am I supposed to do that when my manager cannot even manage a proper and productive schedule?"

Ruiying did not need an answer, the silent drive to the Grand Hyatt Hotel was enough to let her know. 

She sighed and confronted the issue, "Jiashu, stop crying. You are going to crash the car."

"You are so mean! Last night I was really worried about you. I want to know what happened, I am your closest friend. But you still choose to hang up on me!"

Ruiying put on her best smile and tried to comfort her self-proclaimed closest friend, "Jiashu, what happened yesterday cannot be changed even if I told you. Yesterday my mood was horrible and I am sorry that my actions hurt you. Today is a new day and new mood, but you still choose to ruin it. You know I hold my schedule in high importance and just intervening with my personal one would make me miserable. However, the problem is that not only did you intervene with my time but you also made it so that I am guaranteed to be late to at least half of my duties. That's harming not only me but also the people I work with. You are so good at other parts of your job yet severely lacking in this one!"

Ruiying really did try to comfort Jiashu. She even changed her usual monotone tone to let Jiashu know that she wasn't aggravated but just a bit annoyed. 

"RuiRui, your acting is horrible without a script."

Still, despite her best efforts Jiashu's tears did not stop, they worsened. At that moment, Ruiying realized that her day was not going to get any better so she stopped trying and just sighed. She tuned out the wails, connected her earbuds, listened to some of her favorite violin concertos, and this time focused on the ReTry script she was handed.

When they arrived at the hotel, Jiashu left her alone to find parking and change. Ruiying had long become immune to her manager's strange habit. In the van or after work hours, Jiashu always carried a playful tone and afterglow. Her clothes reflected her cheeky personality and wild lifestyle, however, as soon as work had to be done she would change like a sailor guardian' transformation. Her hair would be neatly combed and pulled into a tight and professional bun and she would always wear an ironed three-piece suit, pencil skirt, stockings, and black shiny heels. No one could guess that woman was the same one who was bawling her eyes out earlier. Ruiying just signed as she saw her poor and irresponsible manager run to the bathroom with a black ripped-up garment bag, make-up bag, and bag to hold her current clothes.  

Ruiying found and entered the designated conference room quite early. Although she expected to see a room full of people, there were only three. During the ride, Ruiying made sure to research the director, writer, and producer she was working with. As it turned out, she was already acquainted with the director and producer.

"Good Morning, Mr. Zhang, Mrs. Li, and Mr. Huang. My name is Lin Ruiying, however, you may also call me, Ivy, my stage name. I am very grateful to have a chance to work with Mr. Zhang and Mrs. Li again and I am thankful to have a chance to work with Mr. Huang from today onwards. Thank you for having me." Ruiying made sure to bow as low as she could to show her respect to her superiors. 

"Good Morning, Ms. Lin. I must say that as soon as I found out you would be one of the main characters, I was beyond delighted. Working with you has always been a pleasant experience." A booming voice filled with kindness escaped the director, Zhang Wei's, lips along with a big bright smile. It was so contagious that Ruiying almost let out a genuine smile of adoration. 

"Haha, I agree, Mr. Zhang. Ms. Lin has always been one to lighten my workload." This time, the producer, Li Minghua, spoke up. She had a more graceful smile and tone, much more reserved than the director's but still filled with honesty. 

Ruiying had not lied about her feelings towards working with them again. In fact, if Ruiying was alone on that ride and had seen the people she was working with, she would have begun to sing and dance around like an adolescent.

"Good Morning, Ivy. I have heard great things about you and am excited to start this project with you and Luna." Huang Yifeng was the last person to return Ruiying's greetings. From what Ruiying researched Yifeng was a new and popular writer. He was around her age yet he still seemed so innocent with child-like wonder. He had an almost puppy look about his appearance and seemed more giddy. Ruiying instantly knew that he would most likely not appreciate her personality and work style as much as the rest did.

As the time rapidly approached 5:59 am, Ruiying began to wonder the whereabouts of Luna, her supposed exception, and the other co-workers. She began to sigh at the inevitable disappointment she would be facing for the foreseeable future. Suddenly the door swung open and Yueyan carrying five boxes filled with a dozen donuts entered the room with an annoyingly bright smile. 

"I'm not late am I? My name is Qin Yueyan also known as Luna. It is a great pleasure to meet you all."

Ruiying's poker face collapsed into one full of dread. If this was the amount of professionalism that cocky Yueyan had, they would have some major problems. With her eyes already twitching with annoyance Ruiying could almost envision herself kicking that woman back to their high school days.
