It also meant we walked all day long. The sleep deprivation was really beginning to reach its peak. As the sun began to set our guide spotted an old run down house. Similar to the one we hid in earlier to the day but luckily it had all four walls this time. He spoke " We will sleep here tonight." No one responded. We just headed in. It was cramped but we made it work although the hunger was strong. Sleep was stronger the second my body hit the floor I fell asleep. I felt like I could sleep forever until I heard a noise. *drip drip drip* I begrudgingly woke up when I felt a drop of water on my face. I wasn't the only one. Little by little everyone awoke to the noise as the dripping got louder and louder. It was raining and as luck would have it the roof had holes so water began to leak into the house. I think we were all too tired to fight with the rain that day because nothing was said as we all began to shift inside the home moving to areas without holes. That night we slept scrunched up in balls hoping the rain would stop in time for us to continue our journey tomorrow.
Taking a risk his father abandons the gang he was forced into 10 years ago after his brother borrowed money and ran. And if they do will they be welcomed?
