The recently mutated Wang Fuxiang had struggled to rise behind Sasha and lunged at her.
Shen Yiyue noticed Sasha hadn't turned around and raised her hand, wanting to warn her.
It was as if Sasha had anticipated it.
She quickly spun around, and with a precise motion, plunged her knife into the zombie’s head.
Although the zombie had gotten very close, it immediately froze in place, collapsing to the ground.
This confirmed once again that destroying the brain was the most efficient way to kill a zombie.
[You have killed an ordinary zombie. Points +10.]
Since the deal was already struck, Sasha, ever decisive, immediately started searching through the corpses and backpacks of Wang Fuxiang and Xu Qiang.
It was mostly junk: a few packs of cheap men's cigarettes, some bandages and plasters, half-eaten bread and jerky, an empty water bottle, a dead phone, and cash that had no use in the apocalypse.
To her surprise, tucked away in a side pocket of Xu Qiang's backpack, she found dozens of small condoms.
Sasha's lips twitched slightly in silent disbelief.
These thugs sure cared about hygiene, huh?
Maybe they were afraid of spreading the T-virus that way.
She moved on to handle their corpses.
The windows of the shabby warehouse were tightly shut. The air was thick with dust and the metallic tang of blood, making the place smell unpleasant.
But the sealed space was a blessing in disguise—it kept the stench of blood from escaping and attracting more zombies.
Sasha glanced at Shen Yiyue, who was standing there frozen, and said:
"What are you doing just standing there? Come and help."
Shen Yiyue, a delicate high school girl, had never done anything like this before.
But she obediently moved to help Sasha carry the bodies, despite her disgust and the strain on her strength.
Sasha was somewhat satisfied with her attitude.
The sun had set, and the quiet supermarket was shrouded in darkness.
Apart from the occasional distant zombie growl, the area was silent.
The two thugs' bodies were carried into a separate storage room, where Sasha burned them to ash.
As for the kind-hearted supermarket couple, they had been struck in the head by the thugs and showed no signs of turning.
The damage to their brains ensured they would not become zombies.
Sasha buried the unfortunate couple in the small backyard behind the supermarket.
With no fresh ingredients in the supermarket, Sasha wasn’t in the mood to cook.
She grabbed a pineapple bun and ate it casually for dinner.
Shen Yiyue picked through the snacks and also settled for some junk food.
Since the city’s water supply was still functioning, Shen Yiyue took a bath after Sasha.
She washed her dirty light blue school uniform and also helped clean Sasha’s bloodstained, delicate dress and her white over-the-knee socks.
Coming out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, Shen Yiyue saw Sasha sitting in the small supermarket lounge.
The petite girl swung her slender legs back and forth, her silver hair now trimmed into a bob that just reached her neck—likely for convenience.
Her hair was still damp in places, with some strands lazily falling across her adorable forehead.
Sasha had changed into a snug black tank dress.
The thin straps rested on her slender shoulders, framing her delicate collarbones and pale skin.
She held a box of strawberry milk in her soft hands, sipping absentmindedly while her amber eyes focused on a book titled The Stranger.
Shen Yiyue couldn't help but stare at Sasha, who seemed like a charming little doll—someone she wanted to cuddle like her younger sister.
But the reality was that without Sasha today, she would’ve fallen victim to the two thugs.
Sasha's strength and abilities were completely at odds with her innocent, childlike appearance.
Sasha noticed Shen Yiyue standing there.
Seeing that Shen Yiyue had casually stepped out in nothing but a towel, her delicate features blushing from the hot bath, Sasha tilted her head in confusion.
“Is there something on my face?”
Shen Yiyue had been staring at her for over five seconds.
Not dwelling on it, Sasha set aside the milk and the book. She called Shen Yiyue over.
“Come here.”
Without hesitation, Shen Yiyue dragged a stool over and sat obediently beside Sasha.
To her surprise, Sasha reached out and started unwrapping her towel.
“W-What are you doing?” Shen Yiyue stammered, instinctively grabbing Sasha’s hand.
Did this little girl have... certain preferences? Shen Yiyue's mind raced with inappropriate thoughts.
Sasha blinked, momentarily confused.
Then she noticed the misunderstanding and grabbed a nearby first-aid kit.
“I’m checking your injuries and treating your wounds,” she said calmly, waving the box.
Shen Yiyue froze, realizing she had entirely misread the situation.
Her face flushed even redder.
“Th-thank you,” she mumbled.
Sasha carefully examined Shen Yiyue’s bruises and began tending to them.
She skillfully avoided any inappropriate areas, applying ointment and wrapping bandages where needed.
“Ahh...!”
Shen Yiyue winced slightly as the medicine stung her wounds, but she sat still, letting Sasha finish the treatment.
The close proximity allowed her to see Sasha’s long lashes, clear amber eyes, and serious expression.
She even caught the faint, sweet fragrance lingering around Sasha.
"How can someone this strong also be so... adorable?" Shen Yiyue thought.
But then she remembered the blood-soaked image of Sasha earlier—her cold, merciless eyes and deadly precision.
Shen Yiyue's awe and gratitude were tinged with fear.
After finishing Shen Yiyue’s treatment, Sasha turned back to the system interface to check the points she had earned and explore what the T-virus immunity capsule could do.
Shen Yiyue, meanwhile, was still blushing. Sasha couldn’t figure out why.
"I’m just a little girl in this body," Sasha thought. "What’s there to be embarrassed about?"
