MTB -- Meant To Be

[10] [The boys]

[10] [The boys]

Jan 15, 2025

[Friday]

I didn't even realize I fell asleep until I woke up. The room was a little darker but, looking around, I realized it was due to the curtains being drawn close over the small window at the top. I looked at the watch to realize it was a new day. And almost evening. So it wasn't only the curtains afterall. Cool

I looked to the sides of the big bed, realizing I was alone. I could feel my eyes water and I plopped back down on the bed, burying my head under one of the pillows, and waited, for whatever or whoever was to come

About five minutes later, the door burst open and I gasped, flinching. I took my head from under the pillow and looked at the two boys that were staring back at me like I grew a second head

'Who are you?' One of them asked a little too loud. I blinked but didn't answer

'Are you deaf or mute or what? He asked you who you are!' The second one with darker hair color asked a little too harshly for my taste. I just froze further, still laying on my belly on the comfortable bed

Not answering is what I'm best at sometimes but, it's not good. It only seemed to anger people

The dark-haired guy lunged forward, and before I could even realize what was happening, I was on the floor, on my knees as the two boys stood infront of me

The guy had his hand wrapped around my arm as he dragged me to the door and it was like deja vu. My dad held my arm like that, just tighter. He dragged me like that towards the door, opened it and threw me out like he just discarded a cigarette onto the floor

The boy had the door already open but I held tightly onto the frame, trying to keep my tears in check and trying to use my voice but I just couldn't. No matter how much I tried

The boys were talking between themselves and I think were yelling at me a few times as well. Eventually they managed to pry me off the door and I stumbled backwards, scraping my elbows as I made contact with the floor

I didn't wait there a second longer, running away as fast as I could to the neighboring alley. I really preferred to be back in the warm puddle of blankets I've found before but that wasn't really an option right now

So, reaching to the farthest corner of the different, darker, colder alley, I sat down after finding a rag to place underneath me so my buttom won't freeze

Finally settling down, I thought about what in the world just happened. Why would the boys just enter that room and decide to throw me away because I didn't answer them? If I was there, laying on the bed and looking so comfortable, why would they assume I broke into that place? It was obviously what they had assumed based on their actions

At least an hour or two have passed. My eyes were still watering. There's no way they did not find out about me being missing. Or maybe... maybe they had but they do not care.. NO! Snap out of it! There's no way that was fake. It couldn't be. They do care for me. I saw it in their eyes. It couldn't be fake... Right..?

And how are they even supposed to know I'm here? I tried to reason with myself but it still hurt

Just as I went full on sobbing, there were the sound of footsteps running around the corner, heading to my direction before stopping. When I looked infront of me, the person, two actually, were already standing next to me

Parker is a boy. Just a teenage boy.
But despite being 'just a teenage boy',
he experienced some things in life that
most teenage boys don't. After being kind of
kicked out of his house, he stumbled upon a
restaurant. Staying in the dark alley through
the night might've been scary, but it was the
best decision of his life that lead him to people
who made him feel belong.
