“So how does it feel, travelling by foot?” Mir said in a snide tone.
“Hellish, more than I thought.” Gantz replied begrudgingly. He grunted laboriously as he hoisted his inventory bag on his shoulders, as it loosened a bit and almost fall off from him. “It has that weight reduction magic, but still heavy nonetheless. I can hear my own shoulder crying at me.”
“That’s why I told you to use the teleportation stone. You’ll get here in no time.”
“But if I did, my savior won’t be able to explore the world.”
“Explore the world…? Anyways, it’s your own fault that you decided to travel by foot. The bag is as light as it could be, unless, you brought back anything strange, apart from your savior.”
Gantz could feel his veins throbbing. Mir is annoying by default, but with an extra weight on his shoulders, he sounded more annoying than usual. While Gantz was bickering with Mir on the communication marble, next to him, Bear was looking around the plains. After spending an entire day trudging through the forest where Bear came from, they saw a huge plain and were in the process to traverse through it to go to the nearest town. The reason being Gantz wanting to peddle his items and refresh his supplies.
A thought crossed Bear while he randomly eyed the bag Gantz was carrying. Now that he looked at it, the bag is comparatively big, almost the same size as Gantz. Did he fell down from the hill due to his bag?
Just like that, Bear stopped on his tracks, and lifted the bag by its upper sling. That action consequentially lifted the bag up, along with Gantz who was carrying it.
“Ugh.” Gantz let out a small sound, followed with a short gasp while he looked in bear’s direction.
“Hm? What’s wrong, Gantz?”
Gantz blankly looked at Bear—who effortlessly picked the bag up in one hand—fluttering his eyes in confusion.
“It’s nothing. I’ll contact you again later.” Gantz turned off the communication marble and looked again at Bear. Bear placed Gantz down when he let go of the bag.
“Bear, you’re pretty strong, huh?” Gantz started. There was a determined glint in his eyes. “Wanna be my bag carrier?”
Bear tilted his head.
“I’ll pay you 1 gold when we finished this trip.”
Bear flapped his ears.
“What is a gold?”
“Huh?” Gantz fluttered his eyes. In shock, he covered his mouth and was frozen in that state for a time, long enough that Bear tilted his head closer to Gantz to take a closer look out of concern.
“Is gold the money Gantz have spoken of?” Bear asked again. That broke Gantz out of his trance, and although delayed, he nodded a yes to that question.
“I guess we’ll have to start from that.” Gantz scratched his chin. He slipped the communication marble into the pocket of his pants, placed down his inventory bag on the side of the dirt road, and ushered Bear to come closer to him while he opened his inventory bag and took out a pouch.
“Bear, I’ll teach you about the currency of this country.”
