Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire

Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire

Feb 01, 2025

I weaved to the right, hoping that this would work. Sure enough, they tried closing the gap by following my weave, but this is what I had planned. Fools! I kicked Grad In the leg, temporarily slowing me down. Samantha took the chance and sped up, but ended up tripping over Grads body. It wouldn't take long for them to get back up, so I sped away hoping to lose them.

I finally stopped running what felt like a mile away from where I last saw them. I think the girl on my back finally woke up cause, "Dareka tasukete kudasai!" "Say what?" She screamed something completely nonsensical.

"Kono shōnen ni yuukai sareta yō desu." She flailed and tried to untie herself.

"Wait, do you think I kidnapped you?!" I asked, trying to stop her from flailing.

"Koko wa doko desu ka? Sore kara, nani o itta no desu ka?" She continued to flail and hit me in the head.

"OK OK, I'll let you down, but don't instantly run away." I took the binds off but grabbed her hand tightly and bound them together.

"I'll help you Babe, if we can have some alone time after this, hehe!" A gun came out of the middle of nowhere and pressed against my head.

Obviously not understanding what he said, she assumed that he was trying to save her and nodded her head. "Oh come on!" I thought "Perfect timing dude! You just had to, didn't you?"

He grabbed her and ran off, pointing the gun at me until he was out of sight. I followed them at a distance making sure to not let myself be seen or heard.

He went into an old run down looking house that must of been his because he used a key to get in. He put the key under his rug ("Seriously, What a cliche spot."). I pressed my ear up against the door waiting for the footsteps to dissapear.

I unlocked the door and creeped in making sure to not make a sound. It sounded like they were upstairs. I slowely walked up the stairs cringing on every step because they all creaked. I reached the top of the stairs and turned around. There was a single room with it's door cracked open.

I heard the sound of cloth ripping and...other sounds coming from the girl. I barged in before I could hear anything else. The man turned around in surprise and took the gun out of his pocket.

I realized that you don't usually "forget" to introduce your main character's name. Yeah, and I already know that the 6th chapter of the hobbit is also called this.
