DepTen; When A Depressed Guy Gets Reincarnated in Another World
More Magic, and A Beautiful Girl!?
More Magic, and A Beautiful Girl!?
Jan 29, 2025
After fainting in the attic, my mother found me after thirty minutes and brought me to my room.
"Lilinet, how were you even able to get up there?"
She asked in a soft, comforting tone as she carressed my head while she held me in her arms.
This actually feels very nice.
I wonder if my mother in my previous world would do this with me too?
"Lize, have you placed the request to the town hall yet?"
"Yes, I have."
"Well, that's good."
Reiss asked in his usual calm tone, seems like he just came from his job.
Reiss, as it turns out, is a swordsman, and he gets payed by the town to protect it.
Swordsmanship has pretty much the same ranking system as magic, and he is a Sage rank swordsman.
I got to admit, he's pretty cool.
He's also a good guy, with a nice personality.
Overall, a great person, husband, and father.
Anyways, he said something about a request to the town hall, what's that all about?
Since I'm still a two month old baby, I can't exactly move freely, so I miss out on things like this.
Well, since I am a baby still, I shouldn't dwell too much on things like that.
Instead, I want to practice my magic even further.
Who knows, it might come in handy to start practicing magic early?
2 years Later.
So, I am now two years old.
Like I intended, I practiced magic whenever I can, and I can now use magic up to the Expert level.
I don't know how impressive that is though...
I also found out that the book had some misinformation, can't be helped as this world is still in the medieval era.
It said that the amount of Mana you have is something that is consistent.
But after practicing as much as I can, even after casting hundreds of Adept level spells such as "Earth Lance" or "Wind Wake", I wouldn't pass out, unlike the first time I casted magic.
That is proof that my mana is increasing.
Other than improving magic, I also improve in the physical manner.
I can not only stand on my own two legs, but I can also speak.
Lize and Reiss were pretty surprised when I first spoke, because...
A couple of months earlier...
"Wah!"
Reiss is doing his usual "hiding his face with his hands thinking he can surprise me" schtick.
Haah-...
"That doesn't work on me, you know?"
"Ehh?!"
I then look up, wondering why Reiss is so surprised.
But then I realized...
Wait a second, I spoke.
I spoke for the first time ever as a baby in this world, and my first words were "That doesn't work on me".
Well, can't help it since I already said it.
Looking up at Reiss, I chuckled.
Reiss looked so stupidly perplexed, I couldn't help but do so.
That was the first time I ever saw him making a face that wasn't calm.
Then, he told Lize, and she too was surprised.
I was also able to walk shortly after that, and basically, they were more focused on me.
I think they kinda forgot about my four year old sister, Lilia.
I felt bad for her, she would always be pouting while looking over from the corner of a wall or door frame.
I guess she wanted attention as well.
I hope she doesn't end up being a bitch like my younger sister from the previous world.
Present Time
Now, a couple of months have passed, and they started to treat it as normal.
They've started to pay more attention to Lilia, so she's no longer being pouty.
In fact, she's being more friendly with me, asking me to play with her and things.
And sometimes, I do come and play with her, it's mostly roleplaying with her stuffed toys and things.
But most of the time, I decline, because I would rather practice magic in the attic.
I'm guessing this might damage our relation a bit, so I'll try to be much closer with her in the future.
"Okay, let's go try a new spell."
I said while alone in the attic, I was practicing again.
"Let's see, I haven't tried much divine magic, I guess I'll try an offensive one."
I then flipped through the pages of the book till I got to the divine magic part.
Divine magic is said to be really effective against Devils and curses.
Demons are part Devil, so it's also effective against them.
To add further info, according to this book, and some other books I read, which were alot, I don't know if books are expensive in this world, Demons are basically a race split from the original race and mixed with Devils.
Devils are humanoid beings that were created by the evil god, Ychva, which is literally the word for "evil" in this worlds language, or at least, this country's language.
They are beings of hell that were created with the essence of wickedness of all beings in this world, or so the books say, and are so powerful , even the weakest kinds of demons could singlehandedly turn a kingdom to rubble.
Now, back to divine magic.
The reason it is so effective against Devils and curses is because it destroys the so called "wickedness" they have within them, and in turn, break the very essence holding them together.
Divine magic has two types.
Punishment, and Solace.
Punishment is basically offensive magic that's just in the divine category.
While Solace is defensive magic that specializes in destroying curses.
Curses are also another type of magic, but is considered forbidden, and therefore, any further information on them are rare.
Especially information on how to use them.
"Let's see, "Atonement", an expert level spell that weakens a Devil, the level of effectiveness is dependent on the users mana and control of the spell."
That's a pretty nice spell to have just in case.
Since I don't exactly have any Devils or cursed objects to test this magic on, I guess I'll just see what happens when I use it on a "non-wicked" object.
I then point my hand at the empty boxes I usually use as targets.
"Oh divine beings in the heavens above, let this wicked soul reflect on their sins, so they shall be handed upon mercy when their time comes; Atonement!"
A bright glow then comes from my hand, with blue and yellow hues.
It's bright, but not blinding, and it feels warm, like a gentle caress.
"Ha-, that was easier than I thou..."
I then falter to my knees.
That consumed more mana than I expected it would.
I'm pretty fatigued even after just one spell.
Learning divine magic might be tougher than I initially thought.
"Guess that's enough magic practice for today, I had been practicing offensive and defensive magic for the last two hours or so before this."
I then go down the attic, and go to our living room.
It was a pretty wide space, which led to our very wide kitchen and our front door.
And as expected from this era, there was not much to do.
I looked outside the window, it hadn't even pass midday yet.
"Guess I'll go read a book."
But I already read every single book in this house at least a hundred times.
There are a lot of books in this house, but not enough to fill a cabinet.
If I remember correctly, there was only 12 books here.
10 in the attic, and two in me and Lilia's room.
"Haah--, It's gonna be pretty boring waiting for the day to end."
I then lay down on our couch made of wool and cotton which I assume is expensive.
My eyes then slowly close by themselves.
30 minutes later
Knocking.
I heard knocking on the door, which made me wake up.
"Is it Lize?"
I said to myself.
She went out for a bit to buy something with Lilia.
I don't know what it is though, and to be honest, I don't really care that much.
I then get up from the couch and walk to the door.
I then open it, to see a girl, seemingly in her early twenties.
She has dark colored skin, and long silver hair.
She has long ears that stretch to the side, like elves in a fantasy novel.
D cup, don't ask me how I know.
And she's dressed in a maid outfit you would expect in a fantasy novel.
I keep saying fantasy novel, do I really not have anything else to compare it to?
