The Silver Haired Elf Maid
The Silver Haired Elf Maid
Feb 04, 2025
There I was, face to face with what I presume to be a dark elf, based on previously read source material, which is of course, light novels.
I don't know if it's true, or if my lack of height is making my perception skewed, but she's tall!
I think around 175-180cm, maybe?
Ah-, I'm freaking out on the inside.
Except for my extremely beautiful girlfriend who cheated on me with my bully, I've never spoken to women much before.
Plus, that event totally crushed me, causing me to kill myself and all... hehe-...
I shouldn't really joke about that.
"Uhm, could you tell me who you are, little girl?"
She said as she bent down to match my height.
While being called a little girl is a bit embarassing, especially due to the fact of my past, I think it helped me gain a bit of my confidence in talking to her, as she doesn't view me as a guy trying to hit on her, but a two year old child.
"I'm Lilinet Ashford."
I said in my calmest voice.
"Uhm, nice to meet you, and, may I ask who you are?"
The girl then stands up properly, and bows at a 10° angle, I can measure angles with just one look by the way.
Why am I even bragging about that?
"My apologies, I should've introduced myself first, even if you were younger than me. I am Sylpha, a dark elf here for the job of being a maid in this household."
It seems that what my parents did at the town hall was post a maid job.
I see.
It would also seem that my assumption of her being a dark elf was correct.
Although presuming just from looks seems very racist...
"Uhm, young lady, could I ask you where your parents are?"
She said in a corteous tone, she must've been properly trained somewhere.
Wait a minute, why do we even need a maid?
Must be due to the increasing difficulty of housework for Lize, or she's finding a job.
"Ah, mom is shopping with my sister, and dad is at work."
I say in a calm tone.
"I see... Could I say something, young lady"
"What is it, Sylpha?" (In japanese, Lilinet says san as a sign of respect.)
"The way you talk, and how you hold yourself up, it's a bit uncanny, you seem more like an adult."
As I thought, some people would be suspicious of how I act.
And even though I'm aware of it, it's a bit hard to act like a normal child when I forgot ninety five percent of what I did as a two year old.
"Please don't mind me, I know it is a bit weird, however, you'll eventually get used to it, Sylpha."
I say in the least rude way I could think of.
"Please come in, it would be awkward to talk in the middle of the doorway."
"Ah-, yes, thank you."
She then enters our house.
One thing I really like about this world is that the houses are design with an elevation for leaving shoes at the doorway, and wearing socks for the interior.
I like it because I'm used to it.
I then let her sit at our couch, and I give her some tea I brewed using some tea leaves I saw on top of the kitchen table, in a jar.
"Here, please make yourself at home."
"Uhm, yes."
I'm a bit curious about Sylpha's past before coming here, I wonder if she'd tell me if I asked?
"Uhm, Sylpha, if it isn't too probing, could I ask you about where your from and what your life was like before coming here?"
"Oh, that isn't a problem, miss Lilinet. I am from Lizhea Village, in the Dark region of the Desmark Continent."
Desmark Continent, if I remember correctly, it is also known as the "Demon Continent" since its occupied mostly by demons.
And due the discrimination of humans and humanlike races like elves against demons, it will probably stay that way for a long time.
And the "Dark Region" of the Demon Continent is said to be the part most cut-off from the outside world, as the most "vile" and "disgusting" demons who are closest to the devils live there.
It's most likely just due to human prejudice why they cut them off.
"I always hated where I lived, since the land was a barren desert. I barely had enough to eat and drink. My body was covered with tattered clothes, and I would always be beaten up by the demons who were prejudiced against our race."
She said with an uncomfortable face, I must've brought back bad memories.
"They would do that almost everyday, while the adults just watched with disgust, disgust directed at me. Dark elves, while related to demons, are also related to elves. So not only in the human and elven occupied continents would I be ostracized, but in my own home land as well."
She then looks at me, seeing how attentively I was listening to her story.
She then chuckles.
"This is the first time someone listened properly to me, and treated me well."
She then looks down, and then forward.
"It may be a bit weird to say this, but, talking to you is very comforting, despite being a child, you have a very mature air around you."
She then stood up, and bowed at a 45° angle.
"After what I have deduced from your personality, I promise that I will serve you and your family with utmost loyalty."
She smiled.
"You were the very first person to look at me with those eyes."
I then shifted my expression.
"Wha-What do you mean? Did I look at you with a mean look or something?!"
She then chuckled.
"No, no. You were the very first person, to look at me with such caring eyes."
She then straightened her back.
"Till the day I will face death, I shall serve you unwaveringly, miss Lilinet."
