When he stepped closer to the benches that were on the rooftop, he saw a man in a suit seemingly reading something on his phone. It looked as if he was the only other person there, so Mr. Kim assumed the scent was from him. But, this buttery scent of freshly baked bread seemed familiar. Mr. Kim could faintly remember smelling it before, and the person who it belonged to was Mr. Lim, his boss.

As if suddenly sensing someone behind him, Mr. Lim turned to look at Mr. Kim.  He quickly stood up as if surprised to see him actually standing there, the two stared at each other for a few seconds, before Mr. Kim walked closer to the benches and took a seat.

As Mr. Kim sat down, Mr. Lim who was still standing completely frozen, flinched, "he-hello Mr. Kim. I hope you enjoy your break." he said.

And as he was about to miss an important meeting, Mr. Lim started heading towards the door, "wa-wait, Mr. Lim." Mr. Kim shouted.

Mr. Lim paused, but didn't look behind him. 

"Mr. Kim, I'm sorry. I happened to hear about your condition from Mr. Cho after he visited you at the hospital. I'm an alpha. I don't want you to get hurt because of me. So please, stay here, I'll go back down. I should be getting back to work anyway."

Mr. Kim didn't expect that he was an alpha, but also considering the little he heard about them, wasn't too surprised. He wondered for a second, before replying to Mr. Lim's long explanation, if that was why his pheromones smelt good to him.

"Mr. Lim, I'm stronger than how everyone is treating me. It's not alphas. I'm simply not used to these things, it's okay to stay a little longer."

Maybe it was the sight of Mr. Lim being so nervous and seemingly trying his best to be considerate of him,

but Mr. Kim didn't feel the need to lie about the reason he's feeling a little sick. Afterall, it truly wasn't just the scent of alphas, it was all pheromones that have surprised Mr. Kim and have been making his stomach turn. 

"But isn't my scent too strong? I don't want you to push yourself just because I'm your boss, it's okay Mr. Kim I'll leave."

Mr. Kim was starting to get annoyed about how this man was seemingly so eager to leave. 

"Mr. Lim, your scent doesn't bother me. In fact, it-it makes my stomach ease a little after smelling the mix of scents all morning." 

It was true that the mixing scents of flowers and rotting fish are still fresh in his mind. But, he thought that if all pheromones were as good as Mr. Lim's, then he wouldn't be having any issues.

"What?"

Mr. Lim accidently learned about Mr. Kim's memory loss and how he went through a traumatic event. Because of this, he knew that Mr. Kim didn't understand the weight of what he just said. The fact that Mr. Kim just said that he prefers him over other alphas.

Although he wanted to tell him how it could be taken, he had read earlier that it's best not to be pushy about topics that are tied to the traumatic event. And it seemed like the scent of pheromones was a sensitive topic right now for Mr. Kim, so he held his thoughts for now.

"Then, I'll stay to finish reading this article. I was planning to leave after reading it anyway, so don't think that I'm cutting my break time short."

Mr. Kim nodded at his compromise, "okay."

Mr. Lim went to sit back down at where he was sitting, which was on the bench right next to the one Mr. Kim was sitting at. He continued to scroll through his phone as Mr. Kim took bites of his bread and drank his milk. 

There had been a question lingering on Mr. Kim's mind for a while, and he decided to take this chance to answer it.

"Mr. Lim, can I ask why you sent Mr. Cho to visit me?"

"Alphas can't enter hospitals for omegas if they aren't related to the patient. Since Mr. Cho can't sense pheromones, I asked him to go in my stead. I hope that it wasn't too pushy, I just wanted to make sure that you were okay."

Mr. Lim provided another long detailed answer, which satisfied Mr. Kim's curiosity. He didn't think much about how all the staff at the hospital were omegas or couldn't sense pheromones.  

"I'm okay now."

Mr. Lim focused on the last word that Mr. Kim said, almost completely ignoring the rest.

"now? It must be hard to be in your situation, I can't imagine losing parts of my memory."

Mr. Kim felt a little guilty towards him, thinking that he's concerned as Mr. Kim fainted right into his arms. 

It was because of this, and because he hadn't been hiding anything all day, that he replied comfortably.

"Yes. honestly it's a little worrying, thinking about the future."

"Mr. Kim, I'm sure you must already know, but there's people here who will help you with anything you need."

Just like how his coworkers did, Mr. Lim started relaying his own well wishes to Mr. Kim. 

Already used to it from this morning, he replied the same as he did to his coworkers.

"Yes."

Mr. Kim wondered if he was going to be given more bread from Mr. Lim with a post-it note stuck to it. He thought that it would perhaps be sort of cute to see such a serious business man doing something like that. Although this conversation was already different from the image he had once placed onto Mr. Lim.

Instead of being uptight and serious all the time, he can in fact show concern like any other person. 

Mr. Kim was curious to know if the department head in his original world was something like this as well. And if he was, would they have ever had a chance to talk like this with each other?

Before Mr. Kim could get lost in his thoughts for long, Mr. Lim continued his speech,

"And I'm here for you as well. I want you to be happy, if that's okay for me to say."

"Thank you, Mr. Lim. I seem to be hearing these kinds of things a lot lately."

"I hope I'm not pushing my advice onto you too much, Mr. Kim."

"Rather than that, I wanted to thank you."

It seemed like the two forgot that Mr. Lim was going to leave after finishing reading his article. 

"It's okay, I simply did what was necessary."

"Still, I'm grateful for you. For calling Mr. Cho and bringing my things to the front desk. I'd like to buy you a meal as thanks."

"Mr. Kim, I appreciate the thought. But, don't push yourself to be around me if its hard for you."

"I'm okay. I can at least buy you some coffee."

"Thank you Mr. Kim. I can wait until your condition is better."

A part of Mr. Kim wanted to know why exactly people are treating him like he's as fragile as glass. 

He already knew he must look sick, being nauseated and wearing a mask, but still he didn't understand the others.

"Mr. Lim, it's okay. I'm feeling better. If that changes I'll tell you."

Mr. Lim smiled at his reply, "then, I'm looking forward to that coffee, Mr. Kim."

"Me too, Mr. Lim."

Mr. Lim stood up, placing the phone that was forgotten long ago into his pocket, "well, I should head back before Mr. Cho comes to get me."

When Mr. Lim stood up, Mr. Kim followed and got up from his seat, grabbing the wrappers to the snacks he had eaten. 

"I should return soon as well,"

"Have a good day Mr. Kim, take it easy."

"Yes. you too, Sir."

Mr. Kim wondered what was wrong with his bosses, for them to tell him to take it easy. He felt like that was something that a boss wouldn't say, which made him wonder how exactly the others see him right now.
