Rise of The Forgotten: From Despised Weakling to the God of All Magic

Part 4: The Rise of the Boundless God

Part 4: The Rise of the Boundless God

Feb 08, 2025

Elara's heart pounded in her chest as she watched the chaos unfold before her. The once peaceful halls of the capital were now a battleground, the air thick with the crackle of magic and the desperate cries of the guards. The King stood helpless on his throne, watching the destruction unfold. But amidst the chaos, it was Kieran who held her attention, his very presence causing the air around him to warp and tremble.

She had seen him wield incredible power before, but this... this was something else. Something terrifying. His eyes were glowing a deep, ethereal red, and the mark on his forehead-a symbol she had never seen before-burned with a divine light. It felt like the entire kingdom was on the brink of collapse, all because of Kieran's wrath.

She couldn't just stand there. Not after everything he had done for her. Not after everything they had been through together.

"Stop!" Elara cried out, her voice cutting through the chaos. She ran toward him, desperation driving her forward as she tried to reach the man she barely understood, but knew had changed.

Kieran's magic surged around him, a violent storm of energy that sent anyone foolish enough to approach flying backward. But Elara didn't stop. She didn't care about the forces surrounding him. She had to reach him.

As she neared him, Elara's feet faltered slightly, the weight of the situation bearing down on her. Kieran stood still, like an immovable force, his eyes glowing with hatred and rage, but something in his posture told her he was... distant. Far away, as though trapped in a place beyond his control.

"Please, Kieran!" Elara shouted again, her voice shaking. "You're not yourself! This isn't who you are!"

Kieran's eyes flickered, just for a moment, and Elara saw a faint trace of recognition. It was as if her words had reached something deep within him, something buried beneath the overwhelming wrath and power.

But then, as if battling against the pull of his own darkness, Kieran's eyes sharpened, the glow dimming for just a second. A battle raged inside him, and Elara could feel it. His power was vast-impossible to fathom-but so was his suffering.

In a sudden, violent flash, the mark on his forehead flared once more, threatening to consume him. His body trembled, his hands clenched at his sides as though struggling against the chains of his own fury. The light in his eyes flickered violently, and for a moment, he seemed lost, untethered from his own consciousness.

"Elara..." Kieran's voice broke through the storm, raw and filled with pain. "I... I can't-"

Before he could finish, Elara threw herself forward, grabbing his hand with both of hers. Her touch was gentle, an anchor in the sea of chaos he had become.

"Kieran," she whispered, her voice soft yet firm. "You're not alone. You don't have to carry this alone. I'm here."

The words seemed to strike something deep within him. Slowly, the furious storm that surrounded him began to calm, the surge of energy slowly dissipating. His body relaxed, as though the weight of his power had lessened, if only slightly. The mark on his forehead flickered one last time before fading completely, and his eyes returned to their normal color.

Kieran blinked, as if coming out of a trance, and the world around him came into focus again. The guards, who had been thrown aside by his overwhelming power, lay groaning in the background. The throne room, which had been reduced to chaos, was still, save for the hushed whispers of those who had witnessed the godlike power before them.

"Kieran..." Elara's voice was softer now, almost a whisper as she looked up at him, her eyes full of concern and relief.

Kieran stood motionless for a moment, his breathing heavy, his mind struggling to grasp the full extent of what had just happened. The rage that had consumed him seemed to have dissipated, but something lingered in its place-a hollow emptiness, a sense of confusion.

"I..." Kieran began, his voice hoarse, as though he hadn't spoken in ages. "What did I just...?"

Elara squeezed his hand tighter, looking up at him with sincerity. "You're still you, Kieran. You just... lost control. But you came back."

Kieran glanced at the chaos surrounding him, at the destruction his power had caused. The King, still sitting on his throne, stared at him with wide eyes, a mixture of awe and fear. The guards that had tried to stop him were struggling to get up, their faces pale and full of terror.

But Kieran, now free from the overwhelming anger that had consumed him, turned his gaze back to Elara. He could feel the weight of the consequences of his actions pressing down on him. He had come so close to destroying everything.

"I'm... sorry," Kieran muttered, the words feeling foreign to him. It wasn't like him to apologize, but there was something about Elara, about what she represented, that softened him. "I didn't want to hurt anyone."

Elara smiled gently, relieved that he was still in control of himself. "You're here now. And that's what matters."

Kieran looked at her, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, he wasn't consumed by vengeance. Instead, a strange warmth spread through him-a recognition that, maybe, there was more to this journey than he had realized.

The King, who had remained silent throughout, finally stood from his throne, his expression now a mix of respect and caution. He looked down at Kieran and Elara before speaking.

"Your power is unlike anything I have ever seen," the King said, his voice reverberating with authority. "You are a being of immense potential. But with that power comes great responsibility."

Kieran didn't respond. He didn't know what to say. All he knew was that, for the first time in a long while, he wasn't alone.

And perhaps, just perhaps, he could find a new purpose.
