Mr. Lim hadn't known Mr. Kim very well before he saw him faint. He simply knew of an employee who's name was Kim Junho. However, after that day, Mr. Kim for some reason had always been on Mr. Lim's mind in one way or another.

First he was wondering if he was okay, hoping that he wasn't seriously ill or anything.  Then, he couldn't stop thinking about the scent of his pheromones that day. Although Mr. Lim wanted to forget about them, for the sake of Mr. Kim, as he thought that might be embarrassing to Mr. Kim. But, the smell of sweet caramel sauce drizzled over a latte. It reminded him of the days when he was a college student, where he would drink iced caramel macchiatos while studying for exams. Mr. Kim felt familiar to him. 

It wasn't only his scent that was stuck on his mind, there was also the information he learned from Mr. Cho about Mr. Kim's condition. Mr. Lim didn't think that he would have gone through something traumatic and that it would affect his memories.  

He wanted to make sure that Mr. Kim didn't feel uncomfortable at work, and being an alpha, him.Because of this, he developed a habit of reading articles about how to  support people who have gone through a traumatic event. Mr. Lim would head to the rooftop during his lunch break and read a different article each day. 

He kept up this habit even after Mr. Kim had come back to work and told him that he was feeling fine. Mr. Lim still was concerned about him though. And after seeing Mr. Kim eating red bead and mint flavoured milk for lunch, he wondered what kind of things Mr. Kim likes.

The only things he knew for now was red bean bread, mint flavoured milk, and coffee.

When he left the rooftop to head back to work, he noticed the offices where Mr. Kim works. He stopped, wondering if he should simply ask Mr. Kim what kind of things he would like. Although this made another question come up for Mr. Lim, why exactly was he so interested in knowing more about Mr. Kim?

The team leader noticed Mr. Lim lingering around outside the office and walked up to him. 

"Ahem. Hello Mr. Lim." 

"Hello,"

"Can I ask what the department head is doing here?" the team leader asked.

Mr. Lim didn't have an answer prepared as he couldn't really bring up his true objective.

He answered as formally as he could, “I was wondering if Mr. Kim was doing well. I heard about his recent visit to the hospital and was worried for his health.”

“Mr. Lim, you worry too much, he’s fine. We’ve all told him to take it easy.” 

“I see. That’s good, don’t push him too hard for now.” 

“Of course, Mr. Lim.” 

The team leader waited for Mr. Lim to walk away first, as he thought that would be the end of the conversation. But, Mr. Lim stood there, glancing towards the office.  He was trying to see where Mr. Kim’s desk was, however, Mr. Lim couldn’t see which one it was.

After a few seconds, he noticed the team leader’s stare, and started to walk back to his own office. 

As he was walking through the hallway, he noticed a few employees carrying bags full of snacks. 

There were three employees walking towards the direction he was just in, and Mr. Lim happened to hear a bit of their chatter.

“Do you think Mr. Kim will like these?” One asked.

“Of course! He seems to like these types of snacks.” Another answered.

“I hope he gets better soon. He doesn’t realize how important his work to our department is.” 

The other two nodded along,

“Let’s make sure to write notes for him,” one added.

“His desk will break from all the gifts once the day is over,” another said.

The three employees noticed their department head, Mr. Lim stopped in the middle of the hallway and greeted him.

 Mr. Lim now felt like he shouldn’t be worried over what Mr. Kim likes, or even why he keeps thinking about him, but about what gift he could give him.

And, it seemed that Mr. Lim had completely forgotten about the fruits basket he made Mr. Cho give to him.

Even during the weekend, it seemed like Mr. Kim was the only thing that he could think about. While looking around a bookstore, he could somehow sense the scent of Mr. Kim's pheromones. 

It wasn't until he heard Mr. Kim reply to him saying his name, that he realized that Mr. Kim was actually there. 

"Hello, Sir." Mr. Kim said.

It wasn't simply his pheromones that seemed to linger in his mind, but, the soft yet strong tone of his voice lingered as well. Even though he seemed to have simply rolled out of bed, with his dark grey sweatpants, white t-shirt with a light grey hoodie over it, and his slightly messy hair. Mr. Lim's heart fluttered at the sight of him. And more than his pheromones, it was Mr. Kim himself that he was flustered over. 

Mr. Lim was glad to see Mr. Kim in his casual clothes, but he was also happy that he could buy him a gift. Although he didn't quite make it clear that it was gift, he was able to buy Mr. Kim a book he was interested in and some coffee as his get-well gift to him.

It was after that encounter that Mr. Lim couldn't wait for that promised cup of coffee from Mr. Kim.
