A crowd of students formed a circle around the two people who would have a duel any minute from now.

"Be ready to be blown away, Lame Prince." Zervis tightened his grip on his wooden sword.

"So be it. But don't ever tattle on your parents about how I will beat you in pulp."

"So much talk!"

Zervis attacked first, giving a big slash downward which Ryder easily evaded. He stepped a side and created a space between them.

Zervis, who was already in the hotheaded state, stepped his right foot backwards before twisting his body, causing a momentum for him to make a horizontal strike.

His sword and body was larger so Ryder wasn't able to completely evade that attack, resulting in his uniform taking a damage.

Feeling triumphant, Zervis continued to attack Ryder as the latter tried his best to defend himself.

The students were all in unison that Ryder would not have a chance to defeat Zervis, seeing him struggling to get his proper stance.

"That idiot. Why is he trying to accept all of his attacks?" Sienna felt impatient as she gritted he teeth.

Zervis smiled as he was overpowering Ryder with his continuous heavy strikes while Ryder was trying to receive it and defend with all his might.

Zervis gave him three big downward slash, heavy enough to make him kneel down, before he took a step back and pointed his on him. He thrusted his sword in swift motion.

Ryder, who was bewildered by it, could only shield himself with the sword before he got thrown away near the audience.

Zervis already celebrated for his win before mocking Ryder about his incompetence. Ryder just stood up while enduring the pain from that attack.

"What is it, Ryder? Do you still want to go?" Zervis sarcastically asked.

"I see..." He patted his clothes like trying to dust it off. "Your swordsmanship is really good. It's heavy and strong. Probably, the Brandell Family's swordsmanship focuses on raw power and overwhelming strength. I could see from your body."

"What the hell are spouting, Ryder? Did your brain got jogged by that last attack?"

"No. I'm okay." He fixed his stance. "You should put your defense up because I'll gonna ingrain in your body what real swordsmanship is."

Zervis felt offended by his words so he raised his sword and about to unleash an attack when Ryder was able to predict his move and passed through him.

"This is the real swordsmanship from Leonardus' sword style."

In Grevallis Kingdom, knights, who wielded swords in their waist, all practiced a same swordsmanship being taught from the teachings since old times.

Leonardus. The war god who helped established the said kingdom and the bearer of the title, Strongest Swordsman in the Rollaire Continent. His swordsmanship was hailed as not only being strong but also beautiful and enticing.

His swordsmanship got passed down to his direct descendants and its branches. 

From this day, his swordsmanship got immensely instilled in all knights and nobles, practicing swords and who are knighted.

But, since the long period of passing down, some changes happened creating more complex style and forms, but still anchored to his original style.

With all those swordsmanship, every nobles jumped in the wagon to learn the improved swordsmanship and made it their own.

Brandell Family got the swordmanship which focused on dealing more damage and overwhelming strength on the opponent, inclined to heavy strikes in two directions, downward slashes, and swift thrusts.

But, Ryder von Grevallis, the Fourth Prince of the kingdom, didn't learn proper education in swords due to his situation and influence as the fourth line in succession. Yet, he didn't despair or give up on his fate, rather he read and read countless of books about the origin of Leonardus.

In his research, he was able to find the original sword style of Leonardus and learn to know his identity.

He tried to tell it to the Knight Commander and his father, the King, but was ignore as the swordsmanship was deemed simple and not innovative.

But he was persistent to learn it so he taught himself and practiced hard to make it his own until he was able to execute its strength by being awarded with Sanctorium Chevalier at the age of eight years old.

Zervis looked back and tried to strike horizontally but Ryder was able to parry it by tapping his sword lightly and turning around to deal with the impact.

He was immediately able to find his stance and ready to attack Zervis.

Ryder approached Zervis fast which the latter couldn't respond on it. He struck his left shoulder which he was able to defend but Ryder's sword slide up on his blade and went up. He immediately fixed his handgrip and was about to make a downward slash.

Zervis defend his head from Ryder's attack and hastily put his sword on guard. Due to the sudden motion and fast pace of the battle that caught Zervis off guard, he couldn't take the impact and knelt down.

The situation was like the reverse situation of the earlier scene. Everyone was shocked about Ryder's swordsmanship as they all felt that there was no heavy weight put on those strikes but he was able to overwhelm Zervis and make him kneel.

Ryder didn't waste the chance to battle with strength by forcing himself to destroy his defense, but retrieve his sword and posed himself like just about to unsheathed his sword. Zervis, who was still overwhelmed, tried to stand up but Ryder made an upward diagonal slash that everyone couldn't see, even the line of strike.

They are all just able to see that the sword was already pointing upwards and Zervis' wooden sword got snapped in two. And also, to hear a sound like a lightning from the clash of those sword.

"This is the real swordsmanship from Leonardus--no, not that. It's Leonardus von Grevallis swordsmanship."

Ryder pointed his sword in Zervis neck whoch caused an uproar in the audience as they felt amazed by his actions and performance.

"This is not real. This is... I am Zervis van Brandell. I am a stronger than this incompetent prince. I am stronger. I am..."

Zervis couldn't contain his anger and unleashed a mana that surprised all the students. His broken sword got fixed with a bluish solid light enveloping it and taking a form of great sword.

"Sword aura! Stop it, Zervis!" Johannes shouted.

Zervis didn't hear him as he was focused on striking Ryder with his mana sword.

Mage Knight has an ability to unleash an aura with the expense of the owner's mana. It will help them to strengthen and enhance their physical abilities, as well as to manifest it and become a weapon.

Ryder tried to guard himself with the normal wooden sword, even though he knew that it won't be enough.

Sienna and Johannes tried to cast a magic barrier to protect Ryder but there was not enough time to do it. Ryder just saw the sword with aura flashes before his eyes and his sword being pushed back.

"Who the hell are causing trouble here?!!!"

A loud, deafening voice echoed in the whole gym, causing Zervis to get back on himself. Ryder saw that chance and parried his sword. The floor that was hit by Zervis' sword git destroyed.

"I just came back from talking with Chairwoman and I will be welcomed with this..."

Teacher Valkan, instructor of the Physical Education and Body Strengthening for second years in the academy.

He went to the commotion created by the students and saw the two perpetrators, Ryder and Zervis, and also the broken floor with Zervis still having the sword aura.

"I can deduce what is happening." He looked at the two students with deadly stares. "You two. Come at my office after class!" he said with full of intimidation.

The two just nodded at him and he ordered everyone to go back at their training. Ryder got approached by Johannes and Sienna and her friends, asking about his condition.

Ryder just laughed at them and told that he was okay. He looked at his wooden sword and saw that it was broken and the other half was turned into smithereens.
