Act I - Loss of Father. Wants Revenge.
Nirin was a kid living in a small town inside the city of Djenné. He had lost his father on the day of his birthday—and he had seen the face of the person who had killed him.
Act II - The Monster is the Obstacle. The person has committed some sin.
Nirin wanted revenge for his father and sought to kill the man responsible. However, this man was famous for having a Music Monster protecting him from such attacks. Nirin needed to find a way to bypass this monster.
Since he couldn’t get close to a Music Monster himself, he decided to create one using Artificial Intelligent Sand. It took him months to complete, but as soon as he had successfully created and tested it against other natural monsters, he went straight after the man who had killed his father.
Act III - Fulcrum Technology: Sirin Nidjín
Finding the man who had killed his father was another problem—Nirin had no face to match the name. He attempted to use Intelligent Sand to locate him, but due to its dust-like nature, the process took too long. Time was running out. The longer he delayed, the harder it would be to track him down.
Observing the weapons used by the Bosunirun, he saw how they could use echolocation to detect anything and anyone, not to mention the sheer power of their weaponry—using sound to defeat enemies. Nirin decided to steal a Sirin Nidjín from a Bosunirun, an extremely difficult task. However, with his advanced Intelligent Sand, it was as easy as taking sweets from a baby.
Once he had the weapon in his hands, he used it to find the man who had killed his father.
