Shard For Recovery

Day 95 School Infirmary 12:54 pm
Akari's near-lifeless body lay in a bed where her wounds were taken and healed using the Isotonic Vitality method.
Zenatori stares at Akari's unconscious body and says to the nurse,
"Will she be okay?"

The nurse calmly smiles and says,
"Yes, she'll most likely be up by tomorrow; it was only some reactionary fatigue."

Zenatori says,
"What is reactionary fatigue?"

"Reactionary fatigue is when you overuse your isotonic force farther than your body can handle. Someone with high isotonic force can use isotonic force a lot more than someone with low isotonic force. Isotonic force regenerates constantly, so when you use too much too quickly, there's nothing to regenerate anymore, so your body instead uses blood cells because that's the closest thing to isotonic atoms. Of course, when you're low on blood, you'd naturally pass out."

Zenatori rubs his chin,
"Interesting."

The nurse stares and Zenatori and speaks,
"I wonder how Hayoku healed you with the reactionary vitality method, considering the fact that you need reactionary osmosis to get healed by someone with the reactionary vitality method."

Zenatori stands puzzled,
"Look, I just remember blacking out, and when I woke up, I was healed. I don't know that much of Syneji Artistry to be honest, so I don't have a clue what you're talking about."

The nurse says,
"I see. My apologies then for asking."

Mashaka's classroom 12:55 pm
Zenatori sits down at his desk and begins to dreadfully recollect the events that happened yesterday. Suddenly, Akari and Yachi walk in, Yachi walks over to Zenatori and raises her voice, saying,
"Do you guys know how strong Zenatori is!?"

Zenatori grabs her mouth, then says,
"Hush, you blabbermouth."

Zenatori slightly smiles but then instantly straightens his face.

Yachi stares at Zenatori, then says,
"Hey Sakatoro-kun, why don't you ever smile? Every time you're about to, you stop yourself every time Why?"

Zenatori looks shocked for several seconds and says,
"You noticed that? Well, I just smile a lot, so I don't want it to be a bad habit."

Yachi says,
"Oh."

Yachi thinks to herself,
"Why would you lie about that Zenatori?"

Suddenly, Mashaka walks in and says,
"Everyone. Tomorrow is your second pre-Tokushu Exam."

Suddenly, the student Aoi Iwasaki springs up,
"But... this is so sudden."

Mashaka says,
"In syneji artistry, everything is about surprise; it isn't our fault your guard was down."

Zenatori thinks to himself,
"Isn't this interesting?"

Mashaka continues,
"Tsuyo Hayoku will cast a reactionary barrier to protect you all from any outside forces. As for you all, you will be into solos with only yourself to worry about, meaning you will have to go against your own friends. You will all be transported to the same island again, and the exam will begin 30 minutes after everyone has touched the island. Tsuyo Hayoku will shoot his fire manifestation in the air to indicate that the 'free for all' has started. There will be numerous automorphs on the island, and whoever exercises the most and expels it to me will pass. You have until sundown to send me the most automorphs, and the barrier will release when the time is up. You can take someone else's automorph by any means necessary, by either forcing them to expel it, and as long as you bring it to me, you will get credited. Everyone should know the basics of manipulating Isotonic Force at this point; the rest is up to you."

Suda Katashi says,
"What kind of automorph are we up against?"

Mashaka says,
"That's for you all to figure out."

Small chatter bestows amongst the class while Zenatori thinks to himself,
"To be honest, I don't think I could bring myself to hurt Akari or Yachi, but..."

Mashaka says,
"Class will end early today to give you time to come up with a plan to win. Good luck, regiments."
