Rain sat in the back of a black car, Charlie sat beside him. He was pressing all the buttons in the car,one button made the windows go up and down while one button flipped open the middle seat,showing sodas in an ice bucket. If anyone were to sit in the middle seat, Rain imagined that it would be rather uncomfortable. 

Charlie grabbed a lemon lime soda and handed Rain a cherry flavor soda. As Charlie was going to press another button, seeing what was the next wonderful thing he could find, Rain noticed that they were nearing a stop and nudged Charlie to stop.

Botenzu, who was driving the car, stopped at a government looking building. Botenzu took a look from his phone and escaped the car. Rain and Charlie did the same.

They followed Botenzu in the government building at the edge of Ambert,near the castle.

Rain took a look at the castle as he followed Botenzu.

“Rain we are actually at Ambert this is so cool! What if we see the princess?” 

Rain rolled his eyes “I hope we don’t” He was pretty sure something ugly would happen if he met someone who made all the rules around here. He was only keeping his temper with Botenzu because his brother's life was at stake. 

Charlie looked up at Rain but said nothing. 

Orion led them in a hallway when a man ran to Orion.”Sir!” 

Orion raised an eyebrow at the man “Can’t you see I’m busy? I have to get these new recruits ready for a rescue mission.” 

The man stared at the ground,avoiding Orion’s eye. “Y-es I can see that but there is an attack at the docks.Signs of t-terible creatures.”

Orion sighed “Well it appears we have a change of plans,suit up boys we are going to the docks.” he gestured to the armory.

Rain and Charlie walked into the armory which was in fact full of all sorts of gear and weapons. Charlie picked a huge gun with all sorts of mechanical parts.

“Put that down.” Rain yelled. He grabbed a small pistol and noticed two hand gloves that were covered in spikes,it looks like a more dangerous version of boxing gloves but made of metal. Rain tried them on and grinned when he found out they fit like a glove.

“Why? We are allowed to grab anything we want aren't we?”

“You don’t even know how to use it.”

Charlie placed the gun down,he grabbed a shield that turned into an arm guard when not in use.

“Okay but if I get hurt it’s on you.”

What Charlie just said suddenly took Rain back to where he was younger.

He was 13 years old and sitting on a sofa while his father sat on the foot stool. 

Rain's face was bruised up and the top of his lip was bleeding. His father held a wet towel on his face. ”What happened?” 

Rain tensed up, “I got in a fight.”

“I can see that.“Rain I heard you have been hitting other kids,some even twice your age.Why?”

“Couple kids were asking for it.They were raving on how they’d beat up some ‘monster’. I can’t believe what they call them! They're monsters!” 

“I know,keep your voice down.” His father sighed and put the towel down. “You have to stop this.” 

“They keep saying that magical people deserve to die. It’s sick. So I beat them up like they say they want to do to them, it's just pay back.” 

Rain frowned

 “Rain, you're just 13 years old, think of your brother. He is influenced by you,whatever you do he wants to do as well. What are you going to do when he starts trying to copy you? If he gets beat up it's on you.” 

Rain looked down and looked at the bandages on his hands. “Yeah..I guess you're right.”

Going down to the docks was the easy part.

It was what was in the docks that was unnerving. 

Once they arrived at the docks A woman ran to Botenzu and she had blood splattered on her face “Thank the sea you're here!” she spoke in a thick accent. She pointed her gun at the scene behind her

People were shooting at something in the water, one of the men was dragged into the sea by some tentacle looking thing. 

“We were sure this thing was unbeatable but now you're here sir. I’m sure we can kill this monster.” 

“It’s coming out of the water!’ someone shouted.

Rain looked at Charlie “Stay here don’t do anything.”

“But-”

“Listen, stay here.”

Rain ran to the docks and saw a squid-like creature targeting a guy. Rain punched the squid monster and it wrapped its tentacles around his arm“Why are you doing this!” Rain shouted “Why are you acting like monsters!”

The squid made strange crackling noises “you won’t survive the war.”  and shocked Rain with electricity.

Rain fell on the ground and saw stars around him.

 “Rain!” He heard Charlie yelling. Rain tried to get up but it felt like he was swimming in water.

  He opened his eyes to catch a blurry Charlie    stabbing the sea monster with a sword that was very shiny. 

Charlie lowered the sword and ran to Rain, “Rain are you okay?”

Rain rubbed his eyes “Yeah,just a bit dizzy.Where did the sword come from?”

Charlie shrugged, “I don’t know, the arm braise just transformed.” 

Then the squid monster started to rise again. A gun fired, shooting the squid monster in the head.

Botenzu lowered his gun “You okay kids?” 

Rain whipped the squid-monster guts off his face. “Yeah I’m fine..What did he mean by a war.”

Botenzu shook his head, “Nevermind, let's find your brother.”
