Chapter 9: The Agreement
Leticia let out a heavy sigh, trying to suppress the lingering irritation from the recent incident.
She finally felt like she was back in control of her own body—but after what had happened, she couldn’t just ignore this strange phenomenon anymore.
— Alright, — she began, crossing her arms. — We need to establish some rules.
Aya sighed dramatically.
"Oh, of course. You just don’t want me to test how flexible your body is again, do you?" — she teased with a playful smirk.
— Don’t even remind me! — Leticia snapped, her face flushing red. — That’s exactly why we need rules! If we’re stuck sharing a body, we should at least set some boundaries!
"Alright, alright," — Aya chuckled. "Go ahead, write down your brilliant laws."
Leticia sat at her desk, grabbed a quill, and opened a blank page in her journal.
— We need to figure this out, — she said determinedly, dipping the quill into ink. — If this keeps happening, you’ll grope my body again without warning!
Aya burst out laughing.
"Oh, come on! That was purely scientific curiosity!"
Leticia shot her a deadpan look through the mirror, where Aya’s reflection was grinning mischievously.
— Scientific curiosity? You grabbed my thighs.
"What? I was checking if you had more muscle tone than me!" — Aya replied innocently. — "By the way, you might actually be faster than I was!"
— I’ll prove it by making you go on a five-mile run, — Leticia muttered, scribbling the first rule:
1. Body-switching is only allowed with mutual consent.
— This means that neither of us can take over the body without permission, — she continued, writing the second rule:
2. No taking control without prior approval.
"Fair enough," — Aya agreed. "Are we going to set up a schedule? Like taking turns?"
Leticia paused, considering it, then added:
3. Time-sharing of the body must be discussed in advance.
"It’s like renting the body!" — Aya giggled. — "You let me borrow it for a few hours, and I promise not to cause chaos!"
Leticia groaned in frustration.
— You already caused chaos by feeling me up! — she snapped, furiously scribbling the next rule:
4. No touching… ahem… sensitive areas without permission.
She froze, realizing what she had just written.
Her face burned as she slumped over her journal, burying her face in her hands.
— I can’t believe I have to write this down… — she groaned. — One day, I’m just going to die of embarrassment…
Aya snickered.
"Okay, okay, I promise to be more respectful!"
Leticia wasn’t convinced.
She scowled at the mirror but forced herself to focus on writing.
5. Any new discoveries about the body must be recorded in the journal.
"Wait, are we seriously keeping a body observation log?" — Aya asked, raising an eyebrow.
— How else are we going to understand why this is happening? — Leticia countered, drawing a line under the rule. — We’ll record everything—sensations, physical changes, emotional shifts. We need data.
Aya mentally nodded.
"Oh! Speaking of changes, when I was in your body, I think your sweet tooth is weaker than mine!" — she pointed out. — "You don’t love desserts as much as I do!"
Leticia frowned.
— That’s something we’ll need to test… — she muttered, adding another note:
6. Taste preferences may change with body-switching.
Aya suddenly fell silent, deep in thought.
Then she asked something unexpected.
"What if one of us wants to do something important, but the other strongly disagrees? How do we handle that?"
Leticia froze, quill hovering above the page.
She hadn’t thought about that.
— You mean… like a serious decision?
"Yeah," — Aya confirmed. — "What if you want to meet someone, but I’m completely against it? Or vice versa?"
Leticia tapped the quill against the desk, thinking.
— We’ll need a rule for that too… — she murmured, writing:
7. Major decisions must be discussed and a compromise reached.
"This is turning into an official treaty," — Aya joked.
Leticia rolled her eyes.
— Yeah, without the war, hopefully.
They exchanged amused glances, then Aya grinned:
"I, Leticia, officially grant body access rights!"
Leticia rubbed her temples.
— No. Too formal.
"Then how about just: ‘Okay, you can take control now’?"
Leticia sighed and wrote:
8. Body-switching only happens after verbal confirmation.
She leaned back, reading through the list.
— I think this will work for now.
Aya tapped her chin in thought.
"This is all great, but we still don’t know why this is happening."
Leticia stared at the page.
The biggest question remained unanswered.
They could control the process—but they didn’t understand the cause.
— Then our next goal is to find out why. — Leticia declared, closing the journal.
Aya smiled.
"And also… to test how fast I can run in your body!"
Leticia groaned.
— No more ‘scientific curiosity,’ got it?!
Both girls laughed, sensing that, at least now, things were a little more organized in their shared chaos.
Outside, the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of soft pink and violet.
They had so many questions left to answer—
And they might not like what they found.
But at least now, they had rules.
