Every night had been a long and lonely path in search of any sign or evidence of where he had been taken. She had sworn revenge upon those that had thought it their place to interfere in her and her Master's undisturbed life.
She would take back what was rightfully hers. Her raven lashes tapered slightly as she thought back to the nightmare of her Master's abduction. An unending circle of questions plagued her. How had the Nazis been so readily prepared for them that night on the bridge? Why had they tried to kill her? And why could her Master, with all power she knew he held within him, be so easily taken? These questions remained with her, leaving her with sleepless days of thoughts racing through her mind. No matter how much she tried to piece the puzzle together, she could not find any answers to the questions. This unknown made the otherwise unfamiliar feeling of revenge ignite within her chest. It devoured her innocence, leaving a black void that hungered to consume the corrupt and culpable that had wronged her. She would find her Master and have vengeance.
Her acute hearing caught a sound in the distance and her focus surfaced from her thoughts. The moment she had been waiting for was fast approaching. Determination had allowed her to wait for hours for that anticipated sound to slice through the silence. At first, it was an almost inaudible vibration. But with each passing moment the deep rumble emanating from the tracks grew louder. Looking down the length of the tracks, Rain could see the flicker of an approaching light. Stepping away from the tree that had completely concealed her figure in black, Rain drew closer to the steel train line.
