Alpha's Fated Mate

Agony

Agony

Feb 22, 2025

The mansion was silent, save for the erratic thud of a small heart pounding violently against the ribs of a twelve-year-old Alpha, Jeon Jungkook. The weight of his instincts was pulling him from the edges of childhood into the brutal world of true-blood Alphas.

Jungkook's entire body was taut with rage and desperation. His usually playful and innocent nature had been overshadowed by a force far beyond his years.

The moon, full and bright, hung low in the night sky, but it wasn't the moon who he was trying to hold, it wasn't the moon he was desiring, it wasn't the moon he was chasing.

It was his mate.

"Mate!! I NEED my mate!" Jungkook screamed, thrashing wildly in the grasp of his father, Jeon Jungwon, his hyungs (cousin) Yoongi, and his brother from another mother, Hoseok Hobi hyung. His small body fought with terrifying strength, his limbs pulling against the three Alpha wolves who struggled to hold him still.

Jungkook's eyes were wild, wide with something primal. A desperation that none of them could understand, but all of them could feel. His tiny chest heaved with panicked breaths, the air thick with the scent of sweat and grief. He hadn't eaten, hadn't slept properly in days. Nothing seemed to matter, except the painful, gut-wrenching sensation that surged from his very core.

He was desperate.

"He's in pain," Jungkook choked out, his voice cracking, tears flowing freely down his cheeks. "He's hurting, dad! I can feel him! Let me go, hyung! I need to find him! I NEED MY MATE!"

The strength of a true-blood Alpha was supposed to come with time, with age, but not for Jungkook. His power had surged far too early, and with it, the bond to his mate had formed. He didn't understand the concept of a mate. He didn't know what it meant to be bound to someone.

All he knew was that the ache inside him was more excruciating than anything he had ever felt. It was as though someone had taken a blade and carved a deep wound into his soul.

Yoongi, the ever serene and often grumpy Alpha, held Jungkook's small, thrashing body with an iron grip, his normally cold eyes clouded with concern and worry for his little baby brother.

"Jungkook," Yoongi's voice was softer now, strained. "You can't go like this. You're not ready to find your mate, Kookie. You don't even know where they are."

"I don't care!" Jungkook shouted, his fists pounding against Yoongi's chest, but the older wolf didn't budge. "Please! Let me go!"

"Son, listen to me." Jungwon's voice was steady and full of authority, but there was a flicker of something deeper in his eyes fear. Fear of what his son was becoming, fear of the uncontrollable strength he had already inherited.

He crouched down, bringing himself to eye level with the frantic child. "You're not ready, baby. Your instincts are too raw right now. You can't just go charging out there. It's dangerous for you and for your mate. You need to understand..."

But Jungkook didn't hear him. He couldn't. The agony in his chest was too much. It was like his soul was being stretched, pulled to the other side of the world, to a place he couldn't reach. His body was shaking violently as he screamed again, the bond pulling at him like an invisible rope, tugging him toward the source of the pain.

His voice cracked with desperation, his eyes now wide, the usually playful spark in them replaced by a terrifyingly deep longing. "He needs me, Daddy! I need him! He's alone… he's hurting!"

Jungkook didn't understand why this was happening. He didn’t understand what a mate was, what the bond meant. All he knew was that something was wrong, something was broken inside of him, and he couldn't fix it. His heart raced faster with each passing second, his chest tightening unbearably as the tears continued to fall. His emotions surged in ways he had never felt before. His wolf, dormant in the back of his mind, was awake, clawing at the cage, desperate to break free.

"Jungkook!" Jungwon shouted, his voice trembling with both anger and fear. "Calm down! We can't let you go like this!"

"Let me go!" Jungkook's voice was a guttural roar, and with a burst of strength, he shoved against Yoongi and Hoseok, his small frame suddenly overpowering them for just a second. But it wasn't enough. Yoongi tightened his grip, pulling him back into the hold.

"You have to listen to us, Kookie," Yoongi said, voice dark with worry. "Your wolf's not ready. You're not ready. You can't just chase after something you don’t understand. You don't even know where he is! We can't just—"

"I don't care!" Jungkook interrupted, the frustration and panic evident in his voice. His body trembled violently, the weight of the desire to find his mate so overwhelming that it made his bones ache. His hands clenched into fists, his nails digging into his palms. "I feel him! I feel him in my chest, and it's too much! He's hurting! He's alone, and I can't do anything, and it's killing me!"

Yoongi's expression softened, and for a brief moment, Jungkook saw the familiar older brother that had always cared for him. But even in Yoongi's gaze, there was something else. Something that scared Jungkook. Yoongi didn't know how to fix this, either.

"Jungkook..." Yoongi said, his voice trembling, "You're not ready to meet him. You don't even know what the mate bond is. You need time. You need... control."

"I don't care about time!" Jungkook screamed, his body writhing in Yoongi’s grip. "I can't....he's out there somewhere, and I need him!" His voice broke, ragged with pain. "I need to be with him! Please! Don't make me wait!"

Jungwon's gaze flicked between Yoongi and Hoseok, his own heart aching for his son, but the sense of duty he felt as an Alpha, as the father of an emerging Alpha, clouded his judgment.

"Kookie... you have to calm down. This isn't the way. We'll help you. We’ll find a way to manage this, but not like this. You're too young." His voice was steady, but there was a tremor beneath the surface. The fear in his eyes was undeniable.

"Dad!" Jungkook sobbed, his voice small but desperate. "I can't fix it! I can't stop it. Please, just let me go! Please!"

Yoongi, at a loss for what to say next, pulled Jungkook close, one hand gripping his shoulder while the other gently cupped the back of his neck, holding him still. "I know, Kookie. I know. But you have to trust us. We can't let you run off like this. You're too young for this. You'll hurt yourself."

But the words didn't reach Jungkook. They never did when the bond called to him so fiercely. His vision blurred with tears, and his mind was spinning with agony, the desire to find his mate burning like an unquenchable flame.

"Please," he whispered, his voice breaking. "I need him. Please... Let me go..." His voice trailed off into a sob.

The tears continued to pour from his eyes as his body shook uncontrollably, but the pain didn't cease. It only grew stronger. His chest felt like it was going to rip apart, his soul stretched thin, and yet, he couldn't understand what he was feeling.

It was just... a pull. A pull toward something that was too far to reach, and the fear of never finding it... it tore him apart.

Finally, Hoseok, who had been silently watching, stepped forward. His voice was calm, but it held a quiet intensity, one that Jungkook had learned to listen to over the years.

"Jungkook," Hoseok said gently, "I know you're in pain. But right now, you can't help him by chasing after him. Your mate is out there, and your connection to him... it's there. But it's too soon for you to act on it. Do you understand what hyung's saying?"

Jungkook's frantic eyes met Hoseok's, and for the first time, the younger Alpha's body seemed to freeze. There was something in Hoseok's eyes, a deep understanding that Jungkook wasn't sure he could grasp yet. But as Hoseok spoke, he felt a small fraction of the ache in his chest ease...just a little. Enough to let him breathe for a moment.

"I need him," Jungkook whispered again, his voice shaking. "Please... make the pain stop. Please, Hobi hyung."

Hoseok's heart broke for Jungkook, and his grip on the younger Alpha tightened, pulling him closer into a comforting embrace. "We'll help you, Kookie," he murmured softly, though his own heart ached with the knowledge that there was very little they could do to truly ease the agony of the bond. "But for now, you have to trust us. We'll help you. We're not going to let you go through this alone."

Jungkook didn't say anything in reply. He simply clung to his hyungs, his body wracked with silent sobs as the pull of the bond tugged painfully at his heart, begging for something he couldn't have, something he didn't yet understand.

For now, all he could do was wait, wait to find his Mate.

How was it? 👀 Did I manage to stir a little bit of emotion in you?
