2nd story of Fellen Tower(3)

2nd story of Fellen Tower(3)

Mar 03, 2025

"For what?"

"Why, your arrival," the creature replied smoothly as if explaining something obvious—its smile widening further revealing rows upon row of teeth filed down into sharp points dripping viscous fluid that sizzled against stone floor beneath us like acid eating away at flesh bone alike.

"Who are you?" Dog snarled beside me now fully crouched low ready for attack, his tail lashing back and forth in agitation. "What do ya want?"

The creature laughed—a sound more chilling than any scream could ever hope to be—echoing through chamber as if mocking our futile attempts at defiance.

"I am many things," it said finally once laughter subsided enough for words again, though still laced with amusement borderlining on madness. "But you may call me...Yogoth.“

I felt bile rise up throat hearing that name spoken aloud—recognition dawning upon realization of what stood before us now: not just some random monster born from human greed or ignorance but an ancient entity summoned here by forces beyond our comprehension.

"Cosmic horror," Raven whispered softly beside, voicing thoughts echoing within my own mind. "We've heard tales..."

"Yes." Yogoth nodded eagerly—its eyes gleaming with malice as it took a step closer towards us now trapped between wall and door leading back out into unknown dangers lurking beyond those heavy stone walls surrounding this place like prison cell bars meant to keep something locked away rather than protect anything inside. "And soon, you shall experience them firsthand."

Before any of could respond—react or even think straight amidst whirlwind confusion gripping our senses tight as vice—the creature moved.

It lunged forward faster than eye could follow; one moment standing there mere feet apart from us next instant looming over Dog who yelped in pain surprise when Yogoth's hand closed around his muzzle, lifting him off ground effortlessly despite size difference between them—Dog struggling futilely against grip far stronger any human or beast capable of.

"Let go!" I screamed uselessly as Raven dove forward attempting to pry open fingers digging into Dog flesh like talons yet failing miserably under sheer force behind those digits. "He's just a dog!"

Yogoth ignored me completely, instead focusing all attention on its captive squirming helpless within grasp—its eyes boring deep intently studying every twitch reaction until finally satisfied with whatever it sought.

Then came the change: subtle at first but growing more pronounced by second as Dog began to convulse violently beneath Yogoth's touch. His body contorted unnaturally, bones snapping like twigs underfoot while skin stretched taut over bulging muscles threatening tear apart any moment now—all accompanied horrific symphony of screams echoing through chamber that seemed endless.

"Stop it!" Raven cried out desperately trying once more to intervene but failing just as before despite renewed efforts. "You're killing him!"

"No," Yogoth corrected softly yet firmly, never taking gaze off its victim writhing in agony below—its voice barely above whisper still managing cut through our screams pleas for mercy like knife slickened with blood carving path straight into heart itself.

"This is merely...transformation."

I watched helplessly as Dog's form twisted further beyond recognition; his body now more misshapen mass pulsating flesh than anything remotely canine—eyes bulging wide white orbs staring back at us filled terror before finally rolling upwards leaving only blank emptiness behind them instead. Then, without warning whatsoever—the creature burst apart into a shower of gore raining down upon stone floor beneath like grotesque parody confetti celebrating some sick twisted victory.

Raven and I stood there frozen amidst carnage surrounding—our breaths coming in short gasps as shock set finally sinking deep within souls already battered by horrors witnessed here today. There was nothing left now but empty space where once our friend had been; only remnants scattered remains testament to his existence ever having mattered at all.

"Now," Yogoth said softly turning towards us again—its voice barely audible over pounding blood rushing through ears yet somehow managing cut straight into heart nonetheless, "it's your turn."

And so began descent deeper realms cosmic horror—a journey from which none of would emerge unchanged nor unscathed. For we had been chosen by fate—or perhaps something far darker—to bear witness events transpiring here within tower once meant symbol hope now reduced mere backdrop for our collective doom.

As Raven and I stood there facing inevitable, all thoughts fled mind save one: How could such a creature exist without driving anyone mad just looking upon it? And yet...here we were—standing before embodiment pure evil itself—and still very much sane despite everything witnessed thus far. Perhaps madness was not so bad afterall; maybe even preferable alternative fate awaiting us now.

But there would be no escape—not for any of us—for Yogoth had come seeking something specific, and it seemed our city held key to unlocking secrets long forgotten by time itself...secrets hidden deep within tower's heart waiting patiently until summoned forth once more into world above. And so began descent deeper realms cosmic horror—a journey from which none would emerge unchanged nor unscathed.

For we had been chosen—by fate or perhaps something far darker—to bear witness events transpiring here amidst ruins symbol hope now reduced mere backdrop for our collective doom...and there was nothing left to say but: "Let's get this over with."

I woke up to a throbbing pain in my head, like someone was hammering nails into it from inside out—an unpleasant reminder that our fight against cosmic horror wasn’t just some bad dream we could wake ourselves away. My vision swam as I opened eyes heavy with exhaustion and fear; the world around me seemed tilted somehow.

"Cat," Dog whined softly beside my ear, his warm breath reassuringly familiar amidst this chaos—his voice barely above a whisper yet filled more concern than any shout ever would've been able to convey. "You alright?"

I managed an affirmative grunt before noticing Raven perched on the windowsill across from us; he looked worse for wear too but still held himself with that same stoic dignity I'd come accustomed seeing in him over these past few days.

"Raven," Dog asked tentatively, sensing my lack of energy to initiate conversation. "What happened? Last thing...last thing we saw was..."

His voice trailed off as if he couldn't bring himself finish the sentence—to acknowledge what had transpired at that tower's base when everything went from bad to worse in a matter seconds.

Raven didn’t answer immediately; instead, his gaze drifted towards something outside our makeshift hideout—somewhere beyond broken walls and shattered glass. "It found us," he said finally after long pause filled only by distant echoes of screams still haunting empty streets below—a chilling reminder that we weren't alone in this nightmare.

"Found...us?" I echoed weakly, my mind struggling to grasp the implications behind those two simple words uttered so casually yet laden with dread. "But how? We were careful—we didn’t leave any trace..."

Raven turned back towards us then; his eyes held a strange mix of resignation and defiance that sent shivers down spine despite myself.

"Careful isn't enough," he said grimly, shaking off whatever thoughts had momentarily distracted him earlier. "Not against something like this."

I swallowed hard—tasting fear mingled with anger at our helplessness in face cosmic horror now looming over us once again after brief respite provided by unconscious state I'd been fortunate to slip into.

"Then what is?" Dog asked desperately, his tail thumping anxiously behind him as if seeking some sort of comfort through rhythmic motion alone. "What can we do?"

Raven hesitated before replying—his voice barely audible even for our keen ears: "...Run."

Silence hung heavy between us then; each lost in thoughts too dark and terrifying to put into words.

But there was no time left anymore—not when that thing out there could track down its prey with ease. So, despite knowing full well how futile such attempt might prove against cosmic entity's overwhelming power over reality itself—we moved silently through shadows cast by crumbling buildings around us; our hearts pounding in syncopated rhythm echoing each other’s fears.

We didn't get far though before realizing something was off about this city we'd once called home. The air felt thick and heavy, like walking against strong wind even without any breeze present whatsoever—an oppressive force pressing down upon shoulders already burdened by dread weighing heavily within hearts pounding wildly beneath ribcages now too fragile to contain them.

And then there were the sounds—or rather lack thereof: no distant sirens wailing mournfully anymore; instead, an eerie silence broken only occasionally when some unseen creature let out chilling cry echoing through empty streets around us. It was as if entire world held its breath waiting for inevitable end to come crashing down upon it.

An incident may be one thing, but the truth may take many forms. I would like to talk about the twists and turns that come when you delve into one incident.
