The doctor grabbed his staff, wielding it like a spear — with a firm, sweeping motion that revealed the weapon was an extension of his will. His lips curled into a sinister smile, and from his throat emerged a demonic, metallic, distorted voice that seemed to echo across the hall, filling the air with a disturbing tension:
“You are about to witness a power you've never experienced before. An Interdimensional Power!”
The rebels looked at each other, their faces reflecting a mix of shock, disbelief, and growing fear. The tension peaked before any of them could even make a move.
In an instant, a short, pulsating violet beam of energy shot from the tip of the staff, slicing through the air like a laser. The shot hit one of the soldiers square in the chest. The man collapsed to the floor without a word, his body twitching once before going limp against the cold stone tiles.
The rest immediately launched a counterattack, unleashing fire in the doctor’s direction, but Faro, with icy precision, tapped his staff against the floor. In the blink of an eye, he vanished from sight and reappeared behind them. Before they could turn, they felt a powerful blow — his staff struck with such force that one of the soldiers slammed into the wall with a crash, the sound of impact spreading panic and fear.
The remaining four instantly raised their weapons, ready to fight to the end. But Faro lifted the staff above his head and slammed it into the ground with full force. A thunderous boom echoed as a pulsating violet-and-yellow shockwave burst from the point of impact. The powerful energy rippled through the entire hall, throwing everyone to the ground — even me, though I was hidden behind a wall and should have been safe.
Three soldiers lost consciousness instantly, their bodies crumpling onto the cold floor. The fourth, paralyzed by fear, fell onto his back and began crawling toward the exit, desperately seeking escape. His lips trembled, trying to form words, but no sound came from his throat.
Faro approached him slowly, with that same unreadable confidence he had shown from the beginning. He held the staff upright, its tip resting on the floor like a symbolic scepter of dominion. Once he stood over the soldier, he reached out and grabbed him by the neck, lifting the body a few centimeters off the ground. His metallic voice spoke again:
“I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time.”
In an instant, the soldier’s body began to disintegrate into tiny fragments, his uniform crumbling into dust. The ominous process took only a moment, and at last, everything turned into a fine, almost glowing powder that Faro released coldly onto the floor. The dust scattered, swirling softly in the air before finally settling.
