Accidental Clones

Accidental Clones

Mar 03, 2025

A few hours earlier...

After pulling into a free parking space, Jiashu quickly grabbed her materials and locked her van as she clumsily ran to the bathroom. The exhausted gaze of her dear RuiRui pierced her back, sending a shiver down her spine.

Once she arrived at the luxurious bathroom, she quickly began her transformation. She made sure everything was perfect, shining her heels and using her lint roller to ensure no dust or hair stayed on her expensive outfit. She then said goodbye to her comfortable clothing and stuffed it into a duffle bag. She left the bathroom completely reborn, her stride confident and full of professionalism. She quickly opened her van, threw her duffle bag, and grabbed her briefcase in before locking the van and quickly getting inside the building.

As she walked towards the elevator she caught a glimpse of an ivory-haired coworker. Her high ponytail was swinging as she walked with her coffee and strapped briefcase. When their eyes met, the coworker almost lost her balance and nearly dropped her drink.

Jiashu almost let out a laugh, if it were Ruiying she would've cackled and called out her embarrassing moment, however, she wasn't on close enough terms with the woman in front of her. Even if they were, they were coworkers and she had her shiny reputation to uphold. In any case, she didn't even know the woman's name and to be quite frank she didn't care enough to find out. All she knew was that she had seen her in their company building before.

"Interesting choice," a cold monotone voice escaped Jiashu's lips as she saw her coworker wearing everything she had on to a tee.

Jiashu's work persona was truthfully a copy & paste of Ruiying's personality. When she was just a newbie at the company, many people didn't quite grow fond of her playful charm. They had no respect for her and never took anything she said seriously. However, when Ruiying entered the company, despite also being new to the industry, people made sure to hold her in high regard. When she was assigned as her manager she slowly took note of her tone and actions. Seeing her own improvement sometimes Jiashu wondered if the entertainment industry lost such a natural talent, herself, to the management industry.

The woman in front of her did not find the situation as amusing as she did and shrugged,
“Didn’t realize I walked into the corporate clone convention.”

Jiashu froze for a moment, the woman in front of her was quite a riot, in trying to offend Jiashu she also inadvertently offended herself. She quickly pulled out her planner, and pencil and closed her molars tight as she tried to keep in her laughter.

"You are that impudent actress's manager, right?" the woman asked after her last line fell flat.

Crack

The snow-haired woman flinched as she turned her head to where the sound had been. She then saw an innocent pencil broken in half, with its eraser half barely hanging on by a single strand of wood.

"Oh, so you're Luna's manager. I could tell your personalities are in sync, both of you are insolent and cheeky little brats who have no respect for the people who work alongside them. I originally thought that we could have an amicable relationship between coworkers but seeing your inability to maintain a professional relationship I retract that belief. Now if you excuse me, I truly hope we do not meet again after this."

As the elevator doors opened Jiashu exited only giving the wide-eyed woman a cold glance. The woman barely reacted in time to stop the closing elevator doors. As she followed behind Jiashu to the conference room she whispered in a voice so low that not even Jiashu could hear.

"Shit"

"So your name is Wang Ruxue?" Jiashu decided to break the ice in the cold dressing room that her dear RuiRui left.

"Yeah, does it ring a bell?" the chalk-haired woman pouted.

"No, should it- Ah!" suddenly Jiashu remembered the first time she had met the woman in front of her.

The woman's face brightened up slightly as she waited for Jiashu to continue.

"You're the weir- peculiar coworker from a year ago. I had to monitor your progress in the company at the time. Forgive me for not remembering you until this moment. However, that still does not excuse your attitude in the elevator." Jiashu almost lost her reserved persona remembering that the woman in front of her was the weirdo who acted like someone going through their eighth-grade syndrome phase.

While Jiashu was reflecting upon her composure she didn't notice Ruxue's darkening eyes.

Hearing no response the room got even grimmer than it was before Jiashu had spoken. Luckily, the door slowly opened as Ruiying entered the dressing room.

She walked up to the makeup artist and asked, "If you don't mind after you are done with Luna's makeup could you do mine? I've just been informed that my makeup artist thought my not being in the room meant that he could go home."

Meixi was already putting the final touches on Yueyan's makeup when Ruiying walked in so she just chuckled and nodded. Yueyan on the other hand seemed to be trying her hardest not to insult the calm Ruiying.

"Luna your makeup is finished," Meixi said with a light smile on her face giving Yueyan the cue to get up from the seat. Or at least it should've been. Instead, Yueyan nodded and took out her phone to scroll on SNS.

After a couple of moments of silence, Ruiying walked up to Jiashu.

"Please contact the makeup artist and alert him that he is fired."

The room's temperature dropped by almost 20 degrees.

"Luna, get off the chair." Meixi tried to push Yueyan off the chair but Yueyan stubbornly attached both hands to the seat and refused to be moved.

" Who is paying you Meixi? Me! Not the company and definitely not the annoying Lin Ruiying!"

"It's fine Meixi. I did say to do it only if it doesn't trouble you." A small chuckle escaped Ruiying's lips but she quickly silenced it, "It's not the first time I've done my own makeup before a press conference"

Jiashu then appeared by her side almost like magic with a small makeup bag. Ruiying grabbed it as she walked towards the small couch. Jiashu quickly followed taking out a handheld mirror on one hand and her phone with a flashlight on the other. She positioned herself so that Ruiying could have no issues applying her makeup.

Once she was finished and packing away her bag Jiashu and Ruxue's phones pinged.

It was showtime.

The community is ecstatic about the second IvyLuna project. Lin Ruiying, also known as Ivy, is the GL community's best of the best. With a multitude of awards under her stage name and projects, her work is recognized not only in the growing GL fandom but globally as well.

That is not the only impressive thing about her, as soon as she debuted, she released an article to the public revealing her sexual orientation. However, she has two strict rules.

1. No fanservice
2. No second projects with the same actor.

Her two rules are brought down by Qin Yueyan or as her fans know her, Luna. Unknown to fans they have a hateful and convoluted past.
