My Werewolf Boyfriend

The Wedding

The Wedding

Feb 24, 2025

As they left the room, the grandeur of the wedding venue came into view. The ballroom was a sea of twinkling lights and elegantly dressed guests, their murmurs creating a low, expectant hum.

Emma’s heart raced as she took in the scene, her hand tightening around James’s.

“Ready?” he asked, his voice steady and reassuring.

She nodded, her resolve hardening. “Ready.”

The ceremony began, the officiant’s voice echoing through the room as Emma and James exchanged vows. But just as James slipped the ring onto her finger, a sharp gasp from the crowd drew their attention. Emma turned to see a man in a dark coat standing at the back of the room, his face obscured by shadows. He held an envelope in his hand, his posture menacing.

“Who is that?” Emma whispered, her voice barely audible over the murmurs of the guests.

James’s eyes narrowed, his grip on her hand tightening protectively. “I don’t know, but he’s not supposed to be here.”

The man stepped forward, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. “Congratulations, Mrs. Lee,” he said, his tone laced with sarcasm. “But before you seal your fate, you might want to read this.” He tossed the envelope onto the aisle, the sound of it hitting the floor echoing in the stunned silence.

Emma’s heart pounded as she stared at the envelope, her mind racing with possibilities. “What is this?” she asked, her voice trembling.

James stepped forward, his body shielding hers. “Whatever it is, it can wait. This is our day.”

But the man’s chilling laughter filled the room. “Some doors shouldn’t be opened, Mrs. Lee. But I’m afraid it’s too late for that.”

As the tension thickened, Emma’s resolve wavered. The past she had tried to bury was clawing its way back, and she could feel the weight of it pressing down on her. But James’s presence beside her was a reminder of the strength they had together. Whatever was in that envelope, they would face it—together.

The wedding ceremony unfolded in the sprawling garden of the Lee family estate, where the scent of blooming roses mingled with the crisp autumn air. Emma stood at the edge of the stone path, her father, Logan Brown, by her side.

His gruff voice softened as he whispered, "You look just like your mother, Emma. She’d be proud." Emma squeezed his arm, her heart swelling with a mix of joy and nostalgia.

Across the aisle, James waited, his black tailored suit accentuating his broad shoulders, his eyes locked on her with an intensity that made her breath hitch.

The wedding march began, and Emma took her first step toward James, the crunch of fallen leaves beneath her heels mingling with the soft strains of the violin.

As they reached the altar, the pastor’s voice carried over the gathered crowd. "Do you, James Lee, take Emma Brown to be your lawfully wedded wife?" James’s answer was immediate, his voice firm. "I do."

When it was Emma’s turn, she hesitated for a split second, "I do," Emma said, her voice ringing clear.

The moment James lifted her veil, the world seemed to pause. His hand brushed her cheek, and he whispered, "Forever, Emma."

Then he kissed her, a kiss that felt like a promise, a beginning, and a culmination all at once. The guests erupted into applause, but Emma barely heard them. Her eyes were closed, her heart pounding, and when she finally looked up, she saw tears in James’s eyes.

As the cheers died down, the reception began, the garden transforming into a fairy-tale setting with twinkling lights and the clink of champagne glasses. Grace sidled up to Emma, holding out a glass. "To the bride," she said, her tone playful but her eyes serious. "And to the man who finally managed to tie you down."

Emma clinked her glass against Grace’s, her smile widening. "To forever," she echoed, her gaze drifting to James, who was laughing with his brother across the lawn.

The soft flicker of candlelight danced across the walls of the newlywed's bedroom, casting a warm, golden glow that seemed to wrap around Emma and James like a protective blanket.

The faint scent of vanilla and roses lingered in the air, a reminder of the floral arrangements from the wedding earlier that day. Emma sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers lightly tracing the rim of the wine glass James had just handed her. The deep red liquid swirled as she took a slow sip, her eyes never leaving his.

"You know," James began, his voice low and steady, "I meant every word I said today. I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure you’re safe, Emma. No one’s ever going to hurt you. Not on my watch."

Emma smiled, a soft, contented expression that made James’s heart skip a beat. She leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder. "I believe you," she whispered. "And I believe in us. This is the start of something real, James. Something permanent."

He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer. "Permanent, huh? Sounds like a lifetime commitment," he teased, his lips brushing against her temple.

"Good thing I’m in it for the long haul," she shot back, her tone playful yet sincere.

They laughed, the sound blending seamlessly with the quiet hum of the night. For a moment, the world outside their room ceased to exist. It was just the two of them, wrapped in the cocoon of their newfound happiness.

The days that followed were a blur of stolen kisses, lazy mornings, and whispered promises.
