BEYOND RAGNARÖK (ENDGAME)

The endgame, or additional content after finishing the main story, also works in this title as an epilogue. While it is full of diverse activities that provide added value. Below I will list the modifications corresponding to the quest or chapter in the game called "Beyond Ragnarök".  Although most of the content would remain unchanged, there are substantial changes that need to be clarified due to the large amount of previously altered events:

1.        Obviously, as the Blades of Chaos were destroyed, the player would no longer be able to use them. But Lúnda would activate a new "main" quest in which she suggests to search for the lost pieces of the blades scattered along the several ruins throughout the Nine Realms. Whose quest would mostly be an exploration of the new terrain altered by Asgard's rifts.
In order to then reassemble them again into the new Blades of Ragnarök. Which would have a new somewhat more nordic design and new features (although it would basically have the same moveset, of course); in addition to no longer being bound to Kratos in any kind of mystical way.

Concept design taken from one of Stephen Oakley's renderings for the new look of the blades in the game.

Note: I don't think it would be too dramatic to temporarily lose one of the weapons and I believe it would make the player prioritize that quest above the others. Besides, there would still be three weapons available; providing an opportunity to tinker, deepen and improve the new hammer in the arsenal.

2.       Asgard would be accessible for travel. But it would be a place in ruins virtually, there would be almost nothing standing. In addition, as in the game, the other realms would also have received debris. Although not only from the realm of the Aesir but from all of them indistinctly due to the rifts summoned by Ragnarök. So, the havoc in the environments would be more evident than in the game.

3.       The real Týr would not be found in Nifelheim but among the ruins of Asgard, where the prison in which he was confined was originally located.

4.       Upon meeting Thrúd at some undetermined point, Kratos would show the intention to return her father's hammer, Mjölnir, to her as its rightful heir. However, she would gesture to stop him while saying "For now, I'll lend it to you... but one day, when I'm ready, I'll come back for it".

5.       There could even be another extra quest related to the story: a "celebration" for the victory over Odin's tyrannical reign at the same time as a funeral in honor of Freyr and all the fallen in the battle of Vígrídr (although I admit that in both this and the canonical Brok's funeral, I find it odd that Atreus wasn't there...). It would seem a fair and reasonable addition to me, bearing in mind the magnitude of what happened. Besides, it seems weird to bid farewell to a dwarf who everyone considered dead but not to a widely worshipped Vanir god..

6.       Vidar, in place of Gná, would be the one who leads the remnants of the Einherjar and intends to avenge his father's death. He would also be located in Asgard, instead of Muspelheim. Waiting in a mausoleum, newly improvised with the remains of the realm, devoted to Odin.

BOSS: VIDAR

Vidar would be one of the most hard optional endgame bosses of the game, replacing Gná. Unlike the Valkyrie, he would stand out for his wide array of melee attacks and his brute strength. He would use it to take advantage of the environment, using rocks and beams of the rubble as weapons.

Kratos and Freya would arrive to confront Odin's last son to cease tormenting the Nine Realms, and he would greet them with some unexpected words. However, he would speak in a clumsy and halting way, stambling like someone who is learning to speak again: "I used to be the god of silence, now I am the god of vengeance... It had always been my destiny". To this, the Spartan would respond with his experience and wisdom about how neither vengeance nor destiny are values which no one should be guided by.

When he is finally defeated, Kratos holds the life of the Aesir in his hands. But, once again, he decides to use the gift of dialogue over violence by telling him something like, "No.... There should be no god of vengeance, not even a god of war. Don't waste your life like your brother Thor did. He didn't have the chance you have now, don't let it slip away. We should try to be better. We can... be better. Some kind of... gods of justice."

Vidar, thoughtfully, concludes "My life belongs to you now, as it belonged to my father before. I will try to live guided by your words." And finally, as if accepting his mercy and advice as a sign of respect, he would nod to him and be seen to walk away returning to silence.
