Chapter 3.

Unexpected Encounters.

The investigation into the Renové Ripper crimes continued, and the pieces of the puzzle were slowly beginning to fit together. Iraide and Jared worked tirelessly, determined to unravel the mystery that had enveloped the city for more than three centuries.

One afternoon, as Iraide headed to the library to meet with Jared, she accidentally stumbled upon a group of young students. The girls were engrossed in a book, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

Sorry! Iraide exclaimed, regaining her balance. I didn't see you coming.

One of the girls, with a friendly smile, replied: No problem. We're a little distracted by this book. It's called The Battle Without End, and it's about vampires and werewolves. It's fascinating, you should read it. If you don't fall in love with the werewolf, you'll surely want to die in the arms of a vampire.

Iraide smiled politely and said goodbye to the girls, but the words "vampires" and "werewolves" stuck in her mind. Over the next few days, the thought began to grow inside her. ¿Could it be possible that the Ripper of Renové, the same one who terrorized the city over 300 years ago, was more than just a human?

The possibility that an immortal creature was behind the crimes didn't seem so far-fetched in a world where legends and myths often hid disturbing truths.

As Iraide pondered this idea, she couldn't help, but imagine the Ripper as a supernatural entity, a figure who had transcended time to sow chaos and terror. ¿Could it be that the key to solving these crimes lay in something that science and logic couldn't explain?

She decided to share her thoughts with Jared…

I've been thinking about something, Iraide began during one of their meetings in the library. And I know it may sound crazy, but ¿what if Renové's Ripper is... immortal? ¿Or at least, someone who has found a way to live beyond time?

Jared raised an eyebrow, intrigued. ¿You mean, like a vampire, a merman, or a werewolf? Something supernatural?

Exactly, Iraide replied. I know it sounds crazy, but we've seen so many unexplainable things in this case. ¿What if this killer has found a way to stay young and strong for centuries?

Jared nodded slowly. We can't rule out any possibility at this point. Even if it seems like a crazy theory, we need to investigate all the clues, though of course, it's not like we're going to have a crystal ball that's going to tell us what species he belongs to, whether he's a vampire, a merman, or a werewolf.

They decided to explore local history and legends for any hint of the supernatural that might be related to the Ripper. There were ancient stories of vampires and werewolves lurking in the surrounding woods, legends of immortal beings that fed on the fear and desperation of humans.

Iraide and Jared began collecting tales and myths, looking for patterns that could connect to the crimes. Each new piece of information brought them closer to the truth, though the possibility of facing a supernatural entity was unsettling.

As the investigation progressed, Iraide couldn't help, but feel a growing sense of urgency. She knew they were getting closer to unraveling the mystery of the Renové Ripper, and that time was running out.

The shadow of ancient crimes was still lurking, and the truth, as terrifying as it was, was waiting to be revealed. Or perhaps it lay buried as it had for 300 years. But the question was rather interesting: ¿Which classification would the Ripper fall into? ¿A vampire, a werewolf, or a merman? Because Renové, the town, happened to have forests, hills, and even beaches.
