She
grumbled "That bastard Robert" and he chuckled "Don't forget that you
also used the shadows to run to the class" she pouted in annoyance
"Yeah... b-but it doesn't mean you need to... I can just go above my
limit, It's not that bad being blind for two days" he let go and looked
at her smiling "I'm your foster father so I'm going to protect you even
if you are going to be a protector" he rubbed her hair "Skyler, go to
the pillar and call the protectors." he pointed to the pillar at the
entrance of the university as the pillar beamed up the colour of yellow.

The smell of smoke was suffocating them. He grabbed the
rough blanket and tied it around the wooden frame. He threw it out the
window with effort.
He
climbed through the broken window, and the crunching of glass under his
shoes cemented the urgency of the whole thing "I need to get there
before more people die!" He thought.
His heartbeat grew louder in
his ears, and he clung to the blanket as he climbed down the wall. The
wind blew in his hair, making it hard to see.
He got onto the dirt
path. The dirt under his feet crunched as he turned around. He started
to run towards the flames and the people screaming. His lungs burned as
the oxygen got heavier and heavier.
"Oh
god," he cried loudly. He stopped and saw the many statues of lecturers
and students. "I'm sorry," he said sadly. He wanted to hurl, but knew
that he couldn't do anything about them. So he continued to run towards
the fragments "How many did get turned into fragments?"
He got to
the centre of the scene. He saw many more fragments than before. "Shit
it's the aqua elemental fragment!" he started to shake "I'm weak against
this element but I will keep them engaged until the protectors come"
He
rushed towards the fragments and began to slide onto the ground. The
burning feeling of his knees as he stopped. He grunted and grabbed a
stick "I need to keep them in one place!" He thought urgently.
The
scratching of dirt as he drew was annoying. He gulped and finished
drawing a circle. He pressed his hand on the coarse ground harshly, and
his eyes colour changed to brownish.
He shouted shakily at the top
of his lungs, "Magnus dome!" The surrounding dirt rose and enclosed him
and the fragments in a sphere. "Ok, let's go!" He whispered under his
breath.
The fragments mindlessly looked around. It seemed like they
had no concept of what was happening. Mr Richardson shouted at them "Yo
freakish beasts you're not gonna turn any more people into you or
stone!"
They turned to face him; their screams were deafening. His
ears buzzed but he didn't care. He just knew he had to buy time. They
started to rush at him.
His reaction was immediate. He began to draw quickly on the rough ground again. He drew triangles as spikes came out of the ground. It seemed that it pierced through the fragments dead on.
To his dismay he saw the fragments continue to run towards him, the liquids over them made them phase through the spikes. "Great!" He muttered and rolled onto his feet and ran to the other side. "I can't let them touch me because I will turn," he thought.
He
continued to think "What should I do to kill just one of them!" His
eyes widened as he saw a rush of water rushing towards him and he dodged
just in time, but his leg got hit. The steering pain made him scream.
He
squinted in pain while he looked at the remnants of his left leg
"Fuck!" He shouted as he collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground. Then he
saw the fragments closing onto him. "I just wanted to see her grow into
the woman she envisioned to be!" He cried out.
His tears were cold
as they trickled down his cheeks. And the fragments used his blood to
enclose him, trapping him from moving. He screamed loudly while The
cold, wet blood began to crush him. His eyes started to change back to
green.
The rumbling
of the sphere started to crack "I'm sorry..." he whispered. Finally, the
sphere broke. The wind and the dust were massive, masking them
immediately.

Few years before he adopted Skyler. Mr Richardson
was sitting in his lounge on his couch. He was watching a holographic
film about the imaginary core and how it works. His watch was on the
table in front of him projecting it.
It also showed a fragment. The
film talked, about how dangerous is too use too much ether near a
fragment. Mr Richardson saw how It showed the particles attach to the
red blood cells. He saw how the particles slowly change their
properties. Then the film start to change the victims into a statue
while mr Richardson grimaces as the scene being so differcult to watch.
As
the film finishes he leaned back in his sofa and thought "oh primordial
that was so much" he cupped his face and sighed as he felt so ill.
Then
he saw a car parked outside his house. He thought "strange why is she
here?" He was nervous because he always had to do strange stuff for this
person. "Please don't be another strange thing" he sighed.
David got up from his chair and walked towards the door. The carpet folded while his shoes glided across it.
He
opened the door to see a bleeding seven year old Skyler with a wound
on her stomach unconscious. "Oh fuck! What the hell Jasmine!" He shouted
knowing that it was her daughter and angry about how she treated her.
A muted noise came out her mouth while he stared at Skyler "I need to get her to the hospital" He thought hurriedly.
David
reached out for Skyler but Jasmine stopped him and said with a coldness
in her voice "you mustn't, she will be in danger if you do." He looked
at her confused "what are you on about? Fiona shook her head "I cannot
say why but if her blood gets extracted then someone will find it."
Jasmine
left and got into the car leaving Skyler in David's arms. He felt
confused and concerned about what just happened. "What the hell
jasmine!" He muttered.
He rushed to his kitchen and got the first aid kit. His heart was racing with fear. David thought about whether she was even going to survive this much blood loss. David gulped and felt the coldness of Skyler's body and knew he had to be quick. He quickly used a sewing needle and closed the wound up while he heard Skyler screaming. "Sorry about this" he whispered and he began to bandage it up as Skyler breathed softly.
"What am I going to do about you?" he asked softly before leaving Skyler on his bed while it was covered in blood from her.

Skyler
rushed from the tower as fast as she could. Her lungs were giving up on
her but she was determined to get there as fast as possible. As she
arrived she saw the giant dust cloud and covered her face from the wind.
It dispersed and she looked in horror as she saw Mr Richardson being touched by the fragments. He slowly turned into a statue. "Dad!" She shouted, collapsing onto the ground. She gripped the dirt harshly.
Her eyes widened as her chest tightened. It felt like her heart was being squeezed, getting the warmth out of her. Her tears were cold as ice. Her nails continued to bury themselves into the ground. "I'm going to kill you", she muttered as she looked at the fragments. Her eyes flashed purple for a second.
Skyler was not feeling fearful. She was feeling immense anger and it caused her heart to burn. Skyler knew that she was losing herself to the darkness. But she didn't care just cared for one thing to kill the fragments.
The
shadows rapidly formed around her. Her heart raced, and her eyes were
soulless. They turned bright purple. Black mist started to rise from the
shadows covering her body as it clung.
The coldness surrounding her grew and grew. "you're dead!" Skyler screamed. Then she stared down at the fragments with disgust.
She
stood up and stuck out her hand as a flash of bright purple lightning
struck before her. The heat of it was immense. She stuck her hand into
it and a misty rapier came out. She gripped it tightly.
Skyler
slid her left foot back as the pebbles cracked under her. She raised
the blade to her right shoulder. With a lot of effort, she slammed the
tip onto the ground. The result of that made a huge splash of shadow. It
rose underneath the fragments and they floated into the air.
She
jumped into the cold air, and the sky started to turn bleak and dark.
The moon was in full view as it turned red. Her body cast a large shadow
from its light. She smirked as her voice echoed more masculine than
her normal voice. "Eclipse!" She shouted as a purple beam came out of
her rapier.
It was sent towards the fragments. It collided with the building, melting it a bit with its heat. Then she fell onto the floor with a large impact. A large dust cloud covered her. As it dispersed a large crater with her body spread out like an angel.
Her blade disappeared into dust. And the fragments were nowhere to be seen. The moon disappeared to be replaced with the setting sun again.

A few minutes later a car pulled up. Its body was covered in bones and skulls. The door squeaked open and a man stepped onto the ground.. His hair was blue and he had crimson eyes, like blood. He wore a trench coat and a green shirt underneath with a pocket on his left chest. His hands were in the pockets of his red trousers.
The heavy bone pistol hung off his waist alongside capsules with paper in them. His yellow trainers grounded the floor “This is a shit show” he groaned. He walked towards the cathedral with haste.
His eyes glazed over the numerous statues along the way. “What!” He stood in front of the melted part of the cathedral. It was still so hot. “Who could have done this?” He asked and then crossed his arms, hummed and looked at the crater “Did you?”
He asked the unconscious Skyler. He walked closer and knelt. He felt the softness of the dirt was unnatural like it was changed to sand. “Let’s get you out of here” he muttered. He gently grabbed her and carried her like a princess. His arms were underneath her thighs and he supported her with his other arm under her neck.
Justin felt Skyler’s weight and felt confused, concerned about her. “How did you survive?” He felt like he was betraying his fiancé by carrying her. “I promised my fiancé not to go to crime scenes while I’m on vacation.”
Justin frowned but looked at Skyler’s unconscious face. “but it’s worth it because I wouldn’t get the chance to greet this mysterious woman” he chuckled and knew that he struck gold.
The ground underneath his feet crunched. It made him scrunch his face from the noise. Justin didn’t like the noise of stones cracking. But when he heard the rumbles of engines of cars parking he smiled.
He saw figures emerging from the cars. He yelled “you took your time” he smirked. When Justin got to them they rolled their eyes. “Justin, who do you have?” A grey-haired woman with blonde stripes.
She stood leaning against her car, Tapping her right foot. She had her slender arms crossed underneath her chest. The woman expressed a feeling of anger when she looked at the unknown woman in Justin’s arm.
Justin gulped as he walked towards her and others. His sight was drawn to the different outfits that they were wearing. They all wore the same badge. The badge had six different colours with tiny creatures engraved into them.
“Luckily, I didn't tell your fiancé that you’re out here.” Justin rolled his eyes and gently put Skyler down on a stretcher. Two other people took her away. He turned back to her “I know, okay” She huffed and walked towards him and whispered in his ear “This might be your last chance”
He looked away “I know but helping people is the key to…” he smiled sadly as he grabbed an empty packet of cigarettes. “you still hold on to them,” He nodded. the clinking of her shoes got more distant and quieter. “See you at the headquarters” she shouted.
“Right!” Justin yelled back, “But first I need to find out what happened.” He muttered as he leaned against his cold car “I just know that there were fragments but now there’s none?” He murmured, “Was it that inferno user that I heard about?” He rubbed his hands and covered his mouth as he breathed into them.
“But if it was then it would be hot… but it’s cold… but that cathedral was hot and still is!” he thought. He got back into his car. He turned it on and the rumble vibrated against his seat. Justin drove off, the ground under his car’s tyres crunched and cracked.
