Chapter 7.

Marina's Indignation.

While Brenna was crying in her room in Elmor, Marina was also awake, completely indignant and worried about her friend. She vividly remembered how, for the past three years, Brenna had not stopped talking to her about that boy she had met through the internet.

It was impressive. Despite being two years younger than Brenna, Shuhang Wang had made her fall in love with his words and small details. He sent her photos of his life in Elmor, showing the places he visited, the foods he tried, and the activities he did. Every picture and every message felt full of warmth and affection. Through those gestures, he had won Brenna's heart.

Marina remembered how Brenna excitedly told her about the packages Shuhang sent her via plane, small gifts and surprises that made her feel special. Over time, Brenna had fallen deeply in love with him, so much so that she decided to leave everything behind and move to Elmor in search of that love.

And now, she found out that all that effort, all that sacrifice, had been in vain. The man was still in love with his first love, Cristina, and he wanted Brenna to help him win her back.

 For Marina, this was the last straw. ¿How could he be so unhappy? ¿Or was he just blind and didn't realize that Brenna was in love with him? ¿Or maybe that Cristina was too good?

Marina couldn't sit idly by. She decided to investigate on her own who this Cristina was, the discord that wanted her friend's heart. She turned on her computer and began searching for information on the internet, tracking down any clues she could find.

As she browsed, her thoughts returned again and again to the conversations she had with Brenna. She remembered how her friend spoke with such excitement and hope about Shuhang, how she had left everything behind for him. And now, she was facing a cruel and painful reality.

I can't let this continue like this, Marina muttered to herself, determined. Brenna doesn't deserve this suffering. 

Finally, after hours of searching, she found some clues about Cristina. Apparently, she was a woman with a promising career and a well-established life. Marina couldn't help, but feel a mix of envy and rage. ¿What was it about this woman that had captured Shuhang's heart, leaving Brenna in the shadows?

Marina was determined to get to the bottom of all this. She wouldn't allow her friend to continue hurting herself for someone who didn't value her as she should. With renewed determination, she began to plot a plan to help Brenna, either by revealing the truth about Cristina or by finding a way for Shuhang to see what was really in front of her.

It occurred to her that if her friend could get the man drunk and sleep with her, he would take responsibility and, in time, his love for Cristina would fade away. That way, her friend wouldn't be left heartbroken.

But  ¿how could she convince her of that when she wasn't even in the same country? It was crazy. She decided to buy a plane ticket and rent an apartment in Elmor. If anyone was going to be able to talk Brenna out of it, it was her. 

She knew that texting wouldn't convince her; she needed to do it in person and see the face of the malevolent cockroach who had her friend blinded with love.
