Chapter 19 - The Forsaken's Legacy
Sehan stepped onto the altar, his gaze locked onto the glowing object left behind by the Forsaken Guardian. The energy radiating from it wasn’t just powerful—it was ancient.
[Forsaken’s Remnant]
[Type: ???]
[Effect: ???]
A rare drop with unknown properties.
Sehan narrowed his eyes. He had encountered plenty of hidden mechanics in God’s Game, but this felt different. The system usually provided at least a basic description. Yet this item? A complete mystery. He reached out and grabbed it.
[Would you like to absorb the Forsaken’s Remnant?]
Sehan’s fingers tightened around the object. Another abnormality. Normally, items had to be identified before use. But this one… it was offering absorption outright.
His instincts screamed caution. But at the same time, his mind whispered—opportunity.
“Absorb.”
The moment he accepted, darkness surged into his body. It wasn’t just mana—it was something deeper, something twisting. His vision blurred as a flood of foreign knowledge invaded his mind.
Images of battles long forgotten. Warriors falling before an overwhelming force. A city swallowed by the void.
Then, a name echoed in his mind.
[You have obtained the skill: Forsaken’s Grasp.]
Sehan gasped as the energy settled. He opened his status window immediately.
[Skill Acquired: Forsaken’s Grasp]
[Type: Active]
[Effect: Temporarily harness the power of the forsaken. Drains enemy vitality with every strike. Increased effectiveness against cursed entities. Side effects unknown.]
A lifesteal ability, but with a catch. “Side effects unknown” wasn’t something to take lightly.
Sehan exhaled slowly. He would need to test it in battle.
Just as he was about to leave, the dungeon trembled. The walls cracked, and the ground beneath him shifted.
It’s collapsing.
Sehan activated Void Step, blinking forward as stone crashed down behind him. He sprinted through the crumbling ruins, dodging falling debris and jagged spikes of rock.
The exit was in sight.
With one final push, he launched himself forward—just as the dungeon caved in behind him.
Landing outside, he turned back, watching as the entrance sealed shut, leaving nothing but a barren rock wall.
A one-time dungeon. No one else would ever find it.
Sehan allowed himself a smirk. Good.
Now, it was time to return to the group.
And test his new power.
