The Truth About Nora Jones | 2 | - The Last Year

Chapter Nine: A Whippersnapper’s Evil Plans

Chapter Nine: A Whippersnapper’s Evil Plans

Mar 10, 2025

My plan worked well. I haven’t heard the news of what will happen between Nora and Jules, but when I’ll learn of their breakup, I won’t be surprised. I won’t be the one to come to Jules and look needy and self-centered. People are going to think I was begging him, and they’ll find me pathetic. I’ll wait for him to crawl at my feet and repeat that I was right, am and always will be. Whatever happened with Riley and Stephany won’t happen again. They won’t try fighting again. It was just a phase.

No matter what, or how, I’ll toy with their thoughts. They became my friends in secondary two while I believed the same way, and they agreed with it. If the girls are still my friends, well then, they won’t change their minds considering how my mind hasn’t changed. Some may say it is cruel and narcissist. I don’t think so if they agree for now. If they end up thinking I’m wrong, too bad. I’ll find other friends, but I won’t let Nora get to my level ever. She never will. Well, I hope not.

I have other friends from primary school, too. Some that I kept the contact with, and that are as troubled as I am. Yes, I know I am. So what? We’re all crazy somehow, and it’s great if we’re all different. Lexi’s certainly the one I know the best. She’s taller than me, with shoulder-length black hair, dimples, and onyx eyes. I invited her over for a spa, the two of us alone in the backyard. I was so happy to share the news, and tomorrow’s Friday. We have much time, and I caused a huge scene just so my family would go away.

“....and so, that’s how I’ll get Jules back!”

“Holy shit!” Lexi snickers are she lowers her sunglasses and grins at me wickedly, “You have shown her who’s the boss!”

My lips curl into a smirk as I lower my chin and glare at her confidently. “She just needs to know. Knowing her, she might try to come back with something else. I’ll make her life a living hell. I planned everything for the months to come, even after she left Jules.”

“How clever. Chapeau, mon amie**.” My friend whistles in admiration, raising her eyebrows as she knocks her glass against mine before looking away with a sigh, “I wish I had such a cool life like yours. I have no victim.”

“Do you need to?” I ask with a smirk, “Do something bad to someone without that person knowing, then act like he or she did it and go on that person cause because of rumors or something stupid.”

Lexi nods and agrees with a laugh. God, she knows me too well. She’s just as wealthy as I am, she knows how’s it played. We both take sips of your drinks, not bothered at all by the heat of the spa growing.

“Tell me everything about her. Only think you have said is that she took Jules away, bothered your whole lifetime, stole your family’s attention, and deleted your self-esteem. Now I need the details, who she hangs out with, etcetera. In case I meet her, I’ll ruin her.”

“Worse than you think.” I start, before taking a deep breath, feeling sadistic, “She has emerald eyes, freckles with wavy brown hair. She often curls her bangs and puts on a headband. Her dad’s name is Stephan, and her mom died when she was younger. Her grandma’s name is Denise, and her grandpa’s Marc. Her birthday is September two, her zodiac sign is Virgo. She’s friends with Avery, Addison, Grace, Hailey, Scarlett, Hailey, Charlie, and Sandra. Nora had an ex called Dylan; she dated him in secondary first and he cheated on her after four months. Which is remarkably interesting to know to ruin her. I did that with the rumor.”

Lexi watches me intently, her expression darkening-in a positive way, in satisfaction- as she hears me going on. As I mention Dylan, she replaces her black hair in a bun and bores her gaze into mine as she sneers and shakes her head, shocked.

“That’s insane how much you know about her. I’m impressed. It does make you a real bitch. Hey, you should do something bad in case it doesn’t work with Jules. You need a plan N every time you have something planned.”

**: Chapeau, mon amie= Hats off, my friend (or congratulations)

“I’ve thought about that too.” I admit with a shrug, “I want to embarrass her. But I’m not sure how. I considered a few things. There’s the student council next week, I could also join the theater club to go even more on Nora’s case--”

“Stop right there! Student council’s an excellent idea! You could start worse rumors about her with that!” Lexi squeals as she nods and takes a sip, before sighing, “Ah, I feel smart!”

I stare at her blankly, a snide leer creeping onto my lips. Oh, that seems easy. Way too easy. It’s completely doable-and I believe she’s right. I could make a speech to invite people to choose me instead of her and get on my side. Now that I think about it twice, it’s a clever idea. I just know I could invent everything that I want to create for Nora’s case. Including Jules, so that I can be certain he’s not hers.

“You could make a great speech, y’know..” My friend mentions as she pulls herself out of the spa and sits on the border, holding her drink as she towers over me. “So, you can be sure.”

“That’s what I thought too. I must find better ways though; I must come prepared; I can’t sign my name on the list and act weirdly.” I admit with a shrug as I put a finger on the frame of my sunglasses, “Though I’m sure I won’t.” I add after a moment.

“Sure thing...”
