On an ordinary day, Han Jihoon, a 25-year-old office worker living a dull and monotonous life, makes a careless wish to escape his routine after reading a historical fantasy novel. The next moment, he wakes up in a different world—a vibrant, medieval fantasy kingdom. To his horror, he finds himself in the body of Lord Jihoon Thorne, a notorious 20-year-old bachelor with a reputation for partying, gambling, and evading responsibility.

With no guide on surviving as a "lord" in a strict, hierarchical society, Jihoon decides to lay low and figure out how to return to his world— or at least avoid ruining Elias’s life further. However, his plan takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a small child abandoned on the steps of his manor.

As Jihoon picks up the child, he's surprised by her big, round eyes staring up at him. She can't be more than three years old, with curly brown hair and a smudge of dirt on her cheek. She looks up at him with a mixture of fear and curiosity, and Jihoon's heart melts. He tries to speak to her, but she doesn't seem to understand him. He realizes that he has no idea what to do with a child, let alone one who's been abandoned.

Despite his initial hesitation, Jihoon decides to take the child inside and try to care for her. As he enters the manor, he's greeted by the stern face of his butler, Mr. Jenkins. "My lord, what is the meaning of this?" Mr. Jenkins asks, eyeing the child disapprovingly. The butler (Mr. Jenkins), the maid, and the servants look at the girl mysteriously, yet they are kind to her. There’s a sense of surprise regarding how a jerk can take care of such a cute girl, as noted in the novel our protagonist (Jihoon) is reading, which implies that the lord is a total jerk. 

As Jihoon tries to care for the child, he notices that the servants, including Mr. Jenkins and the maid, are looking at her with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. They seem to be wondering how someone like Lord Elias Thorne, known for his reckless and selfish ways, could take care of a child.  

The maid, in particular, can't help but glance at Jihoon with a mixture of surprise and amusement. She's thinking, "How did someone as irresponsible as Lord Thorne end up with a child?" But despite their initial reservations, the servants are kind and gentle with the child, and they seem to be genuinely fond of her.
