The First Stage: Trial of Endurance
The battlefield was a massive floating island, surrounded by a swirling vortex of wind and energy. The terrain constantly shifted one moment, it was a dense jungle; the next, it turned into a scorching desert or a frozen wasteland.
“This trial will last three hours,” the announcer declared. “Survive, or be eliminated!”
A loud gong echoed across the battlefield. The trial had begun.
Chaos Erupts
Immediately, the battlefield split into zones, forcing teams to adapt to different terrains.
Haruto’s Team (Fujikawa Academy) – The Jungle Zone
Haruto, Rin, and Kai found themselves deep in a jungle, surrounded by towering trees and thick vines that moved on their own.
Kai gritted his teeth. “Great, a trap-infested jungle.”
Rin nodded. “We need to keep moving. The terrain is shifting every few minutes.”
Suddenly, shadowy creatures formed from the vines, lunging at them.
Haruto dodged effortlessly, but he noticed something strange.
“These aren’t real monsters… they’re constructs, meant to slow us down.”
Kai punched through one of the creatures, but the vines regenerated instantly.
Rin frowned. “We need to find the core controlling these things.”
Haruto closed his eyes for a moment, then suddenly pointed at a large tree in the distance. “There. That’s the source.”
Kai smirked. “Then let’s smash it!”
He charged ahead, dodging vines and delivering a devastating punch to the tree’s base. The entire jungle trembled, and the shadowy creatures disintegrated.
Rin sighed in relief. “Good work, Haruto.”
Haruto only nodded.
But deep inside, he was thinking, “I still can’t use my full power yet.”
Satsuki Jr.’s Team (Tenshou Academy) – The Frozen Wasteland
On the other side of the battlefield, Satsuki Jr. stood in an icy tundra, facing a blizzard.
His teammates, Kazuki and Saya, struggled against the cold.
Kazuki shivered. “This place is insane. We won’t last if we don’t move fast.”
Satsuki Jr. smirked. “Then stop talking and follow me.”
As they walked, ice golems emerged from the ground, attacking with massive fists.
Saya attempted to dodge, but a golem grabbed her leg, freezing her in place.
Kazuki lunged to help, but Satsuki Jr. held up a hand.
“No need.”
His Strategist Eyes glowed. Within seconds, he analyzed the golem’s weak point—its left shoulder joint.
With precise movements, he struck it with pinpoint accuracy, shattering the golem instantly.
Kazuki and Saya exchanged glances.
“He’s terrifying.”
Satsuki Jr. smirked. “Let’s move.”
Reiji’s Team (Kagutsuchi Academy) – The Lava Zone
Reiji Takasugi and his team stood on magma-covered ground, where the heat alone could kill an unprepared fighter.
Tsubaki wiped sweat from her forehead. “This is insane. We need to find a way across.”
Shoma stepped forward. “Leave it to me.”
With a powerful fire-infused kick, he launched himself over a lava pit, grabbing onto a ledge.
Tsubaki, using her speed, sprinted across the thin rock pathways, barely avoiding the lava’s heat.
Reiji, on the other hand, simply walked forward, his flames shielding him from the heat.
With teamwork, they made it across the lava zone without a single injury.
The First Eliminations
As the hours passed, teams began to drop out.
• Two teams were eliminated in the jungle due to exhaustion.
• Three teams fell in the frozen wasteland after being unable to handle the extreme cold.
• One team surrendered in the lava zone after suffering severe burns.
By the time the final hour approached, only twelve teams remained standing.
Haruto’s team had survived.
Satsuki Jr.’s team had dominated.
And Kagutsuchi Academy had overcome every obstacle.
The Final Trial of Stage One
Just when it seemed like they had made it, the battlefield began shifting again.
The jungle, tundra, and lava merged into one chaotic arena.
Then, a massive mechanical guardian emerged from the ground—a final boss to determine the strongest teams.
The six academies now had one final test.
Who would emerge victorious?
