Rubicon: the river that Julius Caesar crossed, said to have precipitated the civil war that lead to Caesar becoming dictator of Rome. To "cross the Rubicon" is a turn of phrase meaning "to pass the point of no return".
Set at the turn of the 20th century, a young Eastern Cherokee man watches his world fall apart when his sister is abducted from residential school and his family slaughtered in cold blood. He sets out on a journey of revenge as he searches for the men responsible, carrying a small sliver of hope that his sister may yet be alive. Along the way he pits his morality and sense of self against the wild, unknown world around him.
