FAIRY TALE MYTH

CHAPTER 5

CHAPTER 5

Apr 06, 2025

I Will Protect You For Your Sake But Maybe For My Own Sake Too

There are some stories or myths that people know. You read some and admire some stories which you dream to be happening in real life. But little did you know, there are really those kinds of mythologies happening inside those books.

There are stories about different mythology gods and goddesses. There is a certain world where they lived and walked which you will dream to visit. Now, there is a certain event happening...

- LAND OF GODS - ASGARD (YEAR XX82) -

In a flower garden behind the main palace where the gods and goddesses were having a meeting for their yearly summit, there were two gods sitting on a bench while having a small talk.

“Are you sure you should be wandering here, Thoth?” the god with small clouds encircling his back asked.

“Don't worry, Indra. They already had Mimir-san there and also, there is Athena-sama. I don't need to attend the summit. Horus also told me to just stay put,” Thoth answered making Indra laugh.

“What a sad order. Horus just don't want you to cause trouble during the meeting. Remember the time you put it into the mess by telling so much nonsense.” Indra remembered that time.

“By the way, where's Shiva? He should be around here but... where did he crawl into?” Thoth looked around trying to find him.

“Ahh... Shiva was with Amaterasu-chan. You know... the usual way. Trying to kill each other,” Indra joked.

“Kill each other? That's too much. They're just simply training their muscles,” he refuted and they both laughed. “Just like kids, those two...”

“Well, they are,” Indra replied causing a moment of silence. “You know it, right? That's what always happens whenever we experience that,” he reminded him.

“I know. My fault, sorry.”

“Why are you being serious? It's not like you. There's nothing to be sorry about.” Indra gave him a weak jab.

“Ouch. Your punch had some electrifying effect,” Thoth sarcastically said.

“That's the Thoth I know.” They just laughed at each other.

Then, in just a few seconds, Thoth stopped and had an eerie feeling. He looked at Indra in a serious face making the other wonder about his reason.

“What happened, Thoth?” he inquired.

“This is a serious problem. The Fairyland.” With only those words, Indra created a condensed cloud. “Indra, they're being attacked,” Thoth said to him.

Indra nodded and rode the cloud. Thoth hurriedly stood up as Indra was ready to take off.

“How long has been passed since the start of the attack, Thoth?” he asked.

“Just a couple of minutes but it was already in the brink of destruction.” Thoth was also surprised by seeing those events.

“Tch. That's too sudden. We should be notified earlier,” Indra irritatedly said, charging his cloud vehicle.

“We have no time to complain. We need to go there as soon as possible. I will go to the conference room to know some more information. Mimir-san should also see that.”

“Okay, I will go first at the site,” Indra replied. “Wait, last thing. Is that person involved?” he asked.

Thoth closed his eyes and focused on looking for that person's presence in Fairyland or some kind of connection but to no avail.

“No. Probably not. But...” Indra got curious. “There is a familiar presence there.”

“Who?!”

“I can't really identify because that person is hiding their true identity. Just a significant person who initiated the invasion... ” He opened his eyes and looked at Indra. “Rumpelstiltskin.”

“Tch. That creepy imp.” Indra focused his eyes on his trails. “I'm going off first to do what I can.”

“Okay. Let's meet up there.”

Indra released the break and the cloud flew in the sky as fast as lightning. Thoth, on the other hand, ran towards the conference room. When he opened the door, he saw the gods and goddesses having a hectic and messy discussion.

“These bunch of stupids...”

He inhaled a deep breath before letting it all out in one go.

“Shut up!!!” All the attention got focus on him. “You are all prideful beings. Shut up your mouths and go back to your seats,” he ordered making them do what he wanted. “That's better.”

“What are you doing here, Thoth?” Horus asked.

“Shut up, Horus. I already knew what happened and I won't sit back and relax here. Mimir-san, I only had a glimpse of what happened so may you show us the real situation?” he asked.

“As what I will do.” Mimir showed a couple scenes in Fairyland.

Gods and goddesses got surprised by the situation as it was only quite some time ago but it seemed already in destruction. Thoth approached Mimir and also watched the Fairyland's state intently.

“How did it happen? Fairyland is known as a pleasant and peaceful world. Even if there are some threats, each kingdom can resolve it on their own but what happened now?” Odin wondered and slammed the top of the table.

“Relax, Odin. We should take it easy in dealing with this,” Zeus said.

“Yes. We should remain calm,” Ares agreed.

“But you are one of the hotheaded people earlier, you simpleton warmonger.”

“Odin-sama, it happened about some minutes ago, just ten minutes, 23 seconds and 43 millisecond ago. Right at the same time as Vishnu-san's yawning with Thor-sama's proposal and Apollo-san's frowning right after hearing Izanagi-sama's joke,” Mimir explained in an exact detailed manner.

“The second part isn't important!” Apollo and Vishnu complained.

“But anyways, there was something wrong there. How come that Mimir wasn't able to forsee it? In the past problems, he could identify it and prepared us for the worst scenario but now, he can't forsee it,” Brahma commented.

Thoth watched the scenes and noticed something while digging to all of his knowledge. He faced them like he knew something about that.

“It's an unforeseen future,” he simply replied to Brahma.

“We all know that. The thing is how Mimir couldn't—” Bishamonten's words got cut off.

“It's possible,” Athena said. “That's probably the case,” she added.

“Yes. A future is like branches of possibilities. Mimir-san and Odin-sama can foresee each one but Odin-sama tried to restrain himself in doing so because of his status. Mimir-san, on the other hand, can see everything that will happen or might happen. But there is one event that will lead to a malignant branch of the future.” Thoth raised his index finger. “When a person or creature suddenly feels a burst of evilness or greed to cause turmoil, creating an unexpected and inevitable possibility...”

“The possibility for world destruction.” Mimir finished his words.

All of them understood the situation and turned silent, thinking of things on what to do.

“If that's the case, during those times, we always assign some kind of savior who will stop that kind of dystopia. As much as possible, we don't involve ourselves in human wars and self-initiated destruction,” Ebisu explained.

“Yes. We limit the involvement of us to humans. If they caused their own problem, we try our best to support them in resolving it but didn't do anything to solve it ourselves. We're neither right nor wrong, neither good nor bad. We're just simply guiding. Unless one of us had a prior involvement in that problem,” Poseidon added creating a tension.

“He's right. But there is another problem here. If it's really an unforeseen future. Who had the power to accumulate enough evilness and greed in a short amount of time. Rumpelstiltskin is known for his hidden desires but he can't do it alone so who is his accomplice?”

“Let's not wait for another news. Let's go there,” Izanagi suggested and stood up.

“A couple of seconds.” Zeus tried to stop him. “Hermes, who are the assigned observers in that world today?” he asked.

Hermes got startled as he picked up his files and scanned for that information. He stood up after finding the answer.

“Hestia-san and Kaya-san, Father!” he said making Athena gasped so everyone looked at her.

“Why are these things happening?” Athena asked as her tears started to fall.

“What's the problem, Athena-nee?” Artemis tried to calm her down.

“Kaya... Kaya's life is depleting...” she said making the other stupefied.

“I see. Kaya is...” Mimir looked at his mind. “Kaya's future is nowhere to be found now,” he shared with them.

“H-Hey... what kind of joke is that?” Thoth asked nervously.

“In this kind of future possibilities, information and knowledge are being scattered in a mess so you don't know what will happen or will not. You need to arrange everything but it will take some time so you won't be able to prepare.”

“Mimir-san, but Kaya...” He grabbed his shoulder like asking to do something.

“You already know it Thoth. Even though we're knowledgeable, mighty or superior. Sometimes, we couldn't change or battle with fate and the flow of time.” Mimir held Thoth's shaking hands. “Memory Road is just a way of knowing one's past, present. You and Athena-sama had that power. Path of Wisdom is just branches of the future you can choose but it's only had limited time. Odin-sama and I had that power. And the Door of Truths are doors that will lead you to certain outcomes. You can freely reign it but it costs you something. No one is able to reach its level,” he explained.

“Ahhh! Let's stop arguing here. Let's head out!” Ares insisted.

“I agree with him.” Bishamonten stood up.

“Sit down, you both hotheaded idiots!” Ebisu scolded them.

“Who's idiot?!” the two complained.

“I must go,” Thoth said and about to go when Ebisu grabbed his hand.

“Are you insane, Thoth?” he said to him.

“Let me go, Ebisu. I won't let Kaya die.”

“It's not like Kaya will die, you crazy simpleton!” he shouted at him. ”We don't die. We can't die. We're gods and goddesses.”

“But it's like dying if that happens! Kaya will...”

“Enough! If you're really raring to go, I will kill you here, Thoth,” Ebisu warned him.

“Try me,” Thoth responded as they engaged in a staring contest.

“Calm down, Ebisu.” Horus tried to mediate the two. “Thoth, don't be a kid. Stay still. It's not like Ebisu wants this. He also cares for Kaya so let's stop this,” he asked but the two didn't listen to him.

“That's enough, you two!” Zeus slammed the table.

“Ahh... it's getting out of control,” Odin commented.

In the middle of heavy tension, a fire appeared in the center of the table. All of them looked at it and figured what it was all about. Then, a figure of a woman forms in it.

“Hestia's hearth fire.” Zeus sat back. “Hestia, what happened there?” he inquired.

“Zeus, the Fairyland got invaded by thousands of monsters led by Rumpelstiltskin and the Evil Queen.” Hestia's voice was weak. “We got knocked unconscious by something and brought somewhere here in this world. Luckily, Indra made it in time to save me. He is now finding Kaya as we both brought in different places. My sincere apologies for letting my guard down," she reported.

“First, I'm glad to know that you are safe,” Zeus replied. “We would like to hear what happened there in detail.”

“Okay. I will report everything.”

They listened intently to what Hestia reported and all just felt a deep disappointment for themselves. After the report, they decided to conduct a strategy meeting and implemented it.

Athena, Bishamonten and Hephaestus led by Izanagi were assigned to go to Fairyland. Thoth got in after a persistence to accompany them.

Apollo, Artemis, Vishnu and Ebisu led by Odin were assigned to go in Alfheim for another mission related to light elves. The other remaining were left inside the conference for some other trouble that will arise.
