As the Archon turned to depart, Lady Lirien called out to him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Arin, wait."
The Archon paused, his eyes glinting in the moonlight. "Yes, cousin?"
Lady Lirien's expression was serious. "Be careful. The Emperor is not what he seems. Some would seek to use him for their gain."
The Archon's gaze narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. "I will be cautious, cousin. But I must ask: what do you know of the Emperor's plans?"
Lady Lirien's eyes flickered, and for a moment, the Archon thought he saw a glimmer of fear. "I know only that the Emperor seeks to claim the Starlight Crystal's power for himself. But there is something more, something that drives him to madness."
The Archon's expression turned grim. "I will uncover the truth, cousin. And when I do, I will make sure that the Emperor pays for his treachery."
