Chapter 4

After Eric, Carlene, and Charles all got packed for school, Samuel and Jackson were exploring the village and actually bought some stuff. Jackson actually got a shortbow and 100 arrows, and Samuel bought a longsword. They also decided to change their clothes into ragged clothes, which were much more comfortable than expected. They were able to stay in the village for 2 more days, but they decided to leave on the third. Now that they had a new wagon with a new Lalooma, they were officially leaving.

“So where did you come from again?” Carlene asked Jackson and Samuel. 

“We come from a place called earth, but we live in a place called america.” 

“And how did you get here?” Eric asked, 

“Well, we went to an evil summer camp. We got bored and went to go find movies in the woods, but we saw a glow on a rock and went over to find the portal and then the portal closed behind us.” Jackson explained, Eric and Carlene’s eyes were wide. 

“So you were touched by inter-dimensional magic?” Carlene asked, 

“Kind of?” Samuel answered “I don't think it would be counted as magic, but yes we were pulled toward the portal in a way.” 

“Interesting, so what does your world have? giant monsters, magic, oh how big is your island?” 

“Island? What are you talking about?” 

“your island, like your world.” 

“We don't have an island, we have continents, planets.” 

“Weird, you have multiple islands then. Your world is much different than ours.” Charles said. Then Samuel heard a rumbling noise, he looked to where it was coming from to see another wagon. 

“Guys, who are they?” Samuel squinted his eyes to see through the darker area, only to see a person flying straight at them. Samuel ducked to let the person fly over their heads, then he saw a strange symbol on his cape. Jackson pulled back his bow and fired, but failed to hit the person. 

“Who was that!?” Samuel asks, 

“It’s the controllers again!” Sylvan yelled from the front. Suddenly the wagon sped up, and they were going so fast the trees were hard to see. 

“Ready to learn your first wand spell!” Eric yelled from behind Samuel, 

“You bet!” 

Eric stood up as another person was flying at them “Abolilicric!” Eric yelled, firing a blast of energy at the person, but the person flew out of the way before they were hit. 

“Say exactly what I say!” Eric yelled to Samuel. Samuel nodded, and then stood with his wand in hand. At the same time they both said “Abolilicric!”at multiple shots of energy fired out of their wands. 

“Not bad for a human.” Eric said, 

“Thanks?” Samuel said. 

Another person came from behind, Samuel tried to shoot them with the spell. 

“Abolilicric!” Samuel said, the person neroly dodged the blast. Eric came from behind Samuel, He shot a bolt of energy and was able to hit them. 

“Thanks.” Samuel said, Eric nodded. 

Eric and Samuel kept shooting the people attacking them though not knowing who they were. Sadly they only shot one of the people attacking them, but one of the people landed on the wagon behind Samuel and Eric. He had a staff in hand, 

“You have no idea who you’ve trifled with!” the person said. 

Then a blast of water was shot from behind the person, but they dogged it. Charles had tried to shoot the person with water. The person successfully attacked Charles with his staff. Carlene summoned a vine to wrap around the man. Another person came and pulled the person out of the vines. Somebody came around the wagon and shot the Lalooma from the side, the Lalooma fell causing the wagon to stop entirely. 

“Know any other wand spells?” Samuel asked Eric. 

“You bet.” Eric ran forward and jumped on a rock into the air, 

“Eliconer!” Eric started to fly into the air, Charles ran towards Eric. 

“Carmola!” Charles yelled, creating a large shield around him and Eric. Samuel, Jackson, Sylvan, and Carlene all ran into it as well. Then there was a rustle in the forest, and everyone prepared for battle.

A person floated out of the forest ”Hello young ones, I cant believe the rumors are true. There really are humans here.” They kept floating around the shield that Charles created. He looked different compared to the rest of the controllers. His cape was black and his paints were white, but his mask was white and his shirt was black. 

“So which one of you is Samuel Knight? Our psychics predicted that they were here.” He looked directly at Samuel, then snapped his fingers and multiple of the others stepped out of the forest with spears. They started to surround them. 

“What do you want?” Samuel asked, 

“All WE want is a safe future for Marshlake. A controlled future for Marshlake, and you threaten that.” 

“How do WE threaten the future of Marshlake? We just want to go home.” 

“But in doing so you threaten villages, people, timelines, it's just too complex that everything falls apart.” The man stopped right in front of Samuel’s view. 

“But you, you threaten the safety of not just this realm, but all realms. We are here to keep balance.”

“How is the multiverse balanced at all! The power of the multiverse cannot be controlled, and is never balanced.” Samuel responded. 

“You think that but there is still the portal, the one that you came through.” Samuel looked at Jackson, who looked right back at him. The person continued, 

“That portal threatens the balance of the multiverse, but somehow  it doesn't cause any danger to the multiverse. It was able to be controlled, HIM wanted to know how and we shall deliver.” Eric came up from behind Samuel, 

“What about the whole Elf civilization, we would crumble from the multiversal power and HIM!” 

“Power can be controlled! Just as we will do to Marshlake. Marshlake will be balanced, as will the multiverse. All thanks to HIM.”  The man waved his hand at the other people, who kept moving forward. The shield started to shrink, as Samuel looked back he saw Charles on one knee. 

“They have something that suppresses my magic!” Charles yelled in pain, Eric ran to his side. 

“Wait, what are you trying to do!” Eric yelled at Charles' side. 

“We’re getting that key!” The man yelled, and pointed to Samuel’s necklace. 

“Samuel,” Charles said in a hushed voice. “I have an idea, I can create an Illusion of you throwing the necklace. You have to act like you did, and hide the necklace.” Samuel nodded, and tucked the necklace into his shirt. 

“Hey weirdo!” said Samuel. The man looked at Samuel, and Samuel pretended to throw something. When he did, an illusion of the necklace went through the shield into the forest. 

“NO!” The man watched as the illusion flew into the air over the treetops, 

“WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!” The man was in complete anger. He pointed at two of his men, 

“GO FIND IT, IT’S THE ONLY THING THAT CAN OPEN IT!” The two men he pointed to ran into the forest where the Illusion went to, and the man floated down to Samuels level. 

“You just made a powerful enemy.”
