Chapter 2.
Playdate
༺♱༻
A week after the incident happened and the bruise had healed, I asked my Mum,
“Can I get a playdate with Henry today?”
“Sure honey. Now?" She said,
“Yes please.” I said excitedly
My Mum took her phone up from the table and called Henry's mum.
“Hello Mrs Fernglade, my daughter wants to have a playdate with your son Henry today. Is that possible?” My Mum asked “Okay, good, see you later,” She said. “Henry can have a playdate with you.”
I was so excited to see him again that I jumped up and down. I ran up the stairs and into my room to get a bag with some cookies I had gotten and some books. Then I headed downstairs with the bag I had packed. When I was down to the room with the outdoor stuff in it, I took my shoes and jacket on. When I was ready I shouted:
“Bye Mum, bye Dad!.” And went outside. I waited a bit for his Mum’s car to arrive. After some time the car came. I walked towards the car. His Mum stood out of the car and helped me open the door.
I put all of my things in first then I got into the car. I sat next to Henry.
"Hello," I said.
“Hey” Henry replied. “How is the leg doing?” Henry asked.
“Oh the leg yeah it’s fine now it has healed.” I answered.
“Good for you.” Henry mumbled.
"What? Is something wrong?” I asked.
“No. I tripped and fell and hit my head.” Henry replied. So that’s why he has a scar I thought to myself.
“Am I going to carry you now?” I asked ironically.
“Shut up,” Henry giggled.
When we arrived at Henry’s house I got out of the car and took my stuff out of the trunk. Then we all went inside. We ran into Henry's room. But when we were in his room I saw that he had cleaned his room, but he doesn't usually do that and just says that it doesn't matter. Then I took my bag with cookies and books out and gave a book to Henry. He excitedly took the book out of my hand when I handed it to him. I looked at him. He looked at me and saw that I was making my really?-face.
“What?” He asked “Why are you looking at me like that?” I didn’t answer him, and just rolled my eyes on him.
“C’mon..” He said “Don’t ignore me. Hey?” He came closer. Henry then started to tickle me.
“Shahp!” I shouted while giggling.
As Henry kept tickling me his mum walked in on us. “What’s going on up here?” she asked us. Henry stopped tickling me. Silence.
“Uhm…She was ignoring me!” Henry ended up saying.
“And you just snapped the book out of my hand!” I said.
“I’ll leave you two alone then” She said while closing the door and leaving the room.
After she left me and henry looked at each other and he started to tickle me again. I burst out laughing.
After a bit of tickling back and forth he pinned me to the bed making me unable to move. The blood in my veins began to rush directly to my cheeks. But I kept struggling, but it was no help, he was too strong.
Or so I thought. He fell onto my chest, giving up. I suppose I was struggling too much. My bad. I took my chance and held him by his wrists and flipped him over.
"Hey! No fair!" Henry shouted when he hit the bed.
“It is very fair, because you were tickling me first and then pinned me to the bed. So yes, it is very fair” I confronted him while he struggled to get away.
“Fine, you win, I give up.” He said giving up. Henry closed his eyes and I let go of his wrists and then I laid down beside him. I just stared at the ceiling for a while in my thoughts.
I closed my eyes to be alone with just me, myself and my thoughts. I started to feel something in my hair. I took my hand to where I felt it. I started to feel a hand grab mine. It was Henry's hand.“What are you doing?” I asked him while still holding hands.
“Braiding your hair.” He answered with confidence in his voice.
“Why?” I asked. Still holding his hand.
“‘Cause I just want to practice.” He answered.
“‘Kay.” I said after I realized that we were holding hands. Then I quickly took my hand down to my stomach.
Henry started to braid my hair again. Practice? Why would he want to practice braiding hair? Welp, that's his business.
After a bit he was done braiding my hair and it started to rain outside. We both looked out the window at the same time. I walked over to his window and looked out at his garden with cherry blossom trees, normal trees, bushes, and flowers that his mum grew right under his window. Then Henry came
“Is it okay if I read?” Henry asked, and I opened my eyes.
“Yes. Can you take my bag with you?” I said.
“Sure, what’s in there?” Henry asked.
“It’s a surprise so do not look, okay?”
“Okay, i won’t look”
Henry went over to my bag with my stuff in it. As he picked it up, there was a loud bang outside. Oh no. I realized that the bang was thunder. I immediately ran over to Henry and hugged him because I was scared. He dropped the bag and hugged me back.
