I stay silent. I did not expect that. I mean there's nothing wrong with it. I just didn’t expect it.

“I hope that it's okay I told you. I didn’t mean to make things awkward.” he says. 

“Oh no. No you're fine. All good. I was just not expecting that. So your….?”

“Bisexual.” he answers.

“Cool…cool. Anyway…you play soccer! What position?”

“I mainly play defensive mid but I can play pretty much anything except for goalie.”

“Yea, I'm terrible at goalie. Freshman year Coach put me in goal for the half and I had to get subbed out at the quarter, I was so bad.”

Mason laughs slightly at my story and smiles. Damn…he's got a killer smile. Like, any girl would drop dead seeing a smile like that. I can’t help but look at him while he laughs. I swear he has the prettiest laugh I have ever heard. Can a laugh be pretty? Who cares? I think it's pretty.

He brings me out of my little…trance? When he says, “so, what's your second period?”

“Oh! I have Mrs…Hawk…? I think. I know its computer science.”

“Cool. I have…” he pulls out his schedule and looks at it and then looks back up at me, smiling. “Mrs. Hawk, computer science!”

I showed him around the school for a while longer before leading him to first period. Mrs. Hawk opens the door, greets me and ushers me to go sit down. I do as she says and she talks to Mason a little. I can’t hear what she's saying, but she points over at me and Mason walks over and sits down in the seat next to mine.

Mrs. Hawk starts class as usual and it goes by pretty quick. After class its time for lunch, I go over to Mason and ask, “want to join me and my friends at lunch? They're all pretty chill so don’t worry about trying to fit in or anything.”

“Oh? Yea! Sure that'd be great!”

I lead him to the cafeteria and to the usual lunch table. Already sitting there is Kayden, Milo, and Madison. Milo and Madison seem to be flirting? God Milo moves fast. This is how hes at an advantage with our challenge! Kayden is just sitting there awkwardly listening. He sees me and Mason and his face immediately lights up. I think he's just happy to not be a third wheel anymore.

“Hey guys. This is Mason, the new kid. Be nice.” I say.

Milo rolls his eyes and says, “Hey Im Milo and don’t trust anything Danny here says.” he motions to me by tilting his head towards me.

Mason slowly turns to me, slightly amused, and asks, “Danny?”

“Yea, some stupid nickname given by Milo. Aiden and Danny sound similar to him I guess.”

Mason nods in understanding and looks over at Madison.

“Hi! I'm Madison!” she says excitedly. “Its nice to meet you.”

“Good to meet you, too.” he responds.

“Hey, I'm Kayden.” Kayden says.

“Hello.” 

Behind us comes Ally and Nicole, the two younglings in the group.

“Oh my god hi! I'm Ally! You must be the new kid!” Ally says a little too enthusiastically.

Mason chuckles and says, “Hi, yeah. I'm Mason.”

“Hi, I'm Nicole. Don’t mind Ally. She's just excited to have a new person in the group.” says Nicole.

“Oh no, she's all good.” Mason responds.

Then James comes running up.

“What's up guys! And hi! I'm James. You must be the new guy.”

“Yep. Does everyone in the school know there's a new kid today?”

“Pretty much.” I sigh.
