Read Sin Reaper :: Episode 7: Turning Gears

Zen coughed as he sat up, A small amount of blood coming out, Shaking his head he wipes it off and sighs, Looking over at Vana. The one who had saved him. Vana tilted her and looked at him as well, Trying her best to ignore the voices in her head that were telling her to kill him so that SHE could be Lucifer's favorite.

"You really did save me Vana, Thank you. How did you find me though??" He said curiously

"O-oh, Well I just so have happened to be passing by, That's all" She said awkwardly, Not wanting to reveal she was Lucifers messanger.

Zen slowly stands up and stretchs, Cracking his neck. "Phew that Ancient dude did a fuckin number on me."
"You said these "ancient ones" were a legend right? What's their story exactly??"

Nava yawns and places her hands behind her head. "From what I remember they were the three first demons Lucifer ever created. And his most powerful apparently. They were exiled from hell because Lucifer was scared they may become more powerful than him and strike him down. Which one did you fight?"

Zen scratches his head. "I think it was...Sezus?"

Nava blinks. "Oh, Yeah he's apparently the weakest of the three."

Zen jumps back in surprise. "The weakest!? Dude made me into a shishkabob."

Nava shrugs. "Get good then."

"Excuse me??"

" You heard me Zenny, Get good. TRAIN."

Zen looks at her then to the floor. "I.... Think you're right. I have seven sins to take out and I can't even Take down the first ones bodyguard." He says clentching his fists. "I let the power go to my head..."

Vana laughs softly. "Sounds about right. Alot of you reapers tend to."

"It's weird though... When my emotions heighten I just.. snap. I never used to be like that."

Vana shrugs her shoulders again. "Could very well be a side effect of not being able to move on. Like a vengeful spirit type of deal. Reaper or not you are still technically dead."

Zen closes his eyes. "That's true... But I can't let go of what happened to my family until I see them face to face and apologize."

In the distance outside Zen suddenly hears someone yelling his name, It was Adonis looking for him.

"Sounds like she's back from her own mission." Zen chuckles. "Let's go say hi"

Vana scoffs in disgust. "i'd rather die..."

Zen raises a brow and walks over to the door of the run down toy store they were in. opening the door and then looks around. "Yo Adonis!! Were in here!"

Adonis Hears him and runs over. "WERE? Whos with you??"
She walks into the abandoned toy store and notices the blood on Zen. "Holy shit dude, Did you get into a fight with a wood chipper??" She says laughing then notices Vana.

"Oh HAHA very funny.... It's a LONG story...." He says. Noticing Vana and Adonis glaring at each other.

"Vana....." Adonis says with venom

"Adonis...." Vana says with just as much venom

"I'm uhh... sensing some hostility here.. you two....know each other??" Zen says awkwardly looking between the two.

Adonis squints at Vana. "We do... Back When I was more devoted to Lucifer we used to be rivals."

Vana squints right back Adonis. "We were... Always vying for Lucifers approval and praise, Until I finally beat her." She says with a smirk forming across her face.

Adonis grits her teeth. "Oh fuck you, You won by a fluke...."

Zen steps in front of them with his arms out. "O-okay ladies pack it in please... I just got done being STABBED, Can we not??"

Adonis and vana both sigh and calm down, Adonis crosses her arms and looks at Zen. "Yeah, I heard you met Sezus."

Vana and Zen look at her. "How???" They say in unison.

"Let's just say... my trip to Avarcie's a mansion was... Eventful, To say the least. Sezus came and chased me out."

Zen scratches his chin. "Must've been where he went after he was done with me...."

Sezus's words about the darkness inside Zen echoed in Adonis's head. "Never thought i'd meet one of the ancient ones. honestly.."

"Adonis, I don't think were ready to face Avarice. Let alone any other sin right now." He says looking at her seriously.

Adonis nods and looks at him. "I agree. So what do we do?"

Vana rolls her eyes and scoffs. "You train, DUH..."

Adonis quickly points her head in Vana's direction. "You be quiet ya little gremlin."

Vana sticks her tounge out at her. "Make me~"

Zen sighs and shakes his head. "This is my life now, Or...afterlife I guess"

Adonis sticks her tounge out at Vana then looks over at Zen. "We should probably find someone who can teach you to harness your reaper powers, And I know someone who can help us find a person like that."

"It's Mephisto isn't it..."

Adonis shakes her head again. "Yuuup..."

Vana blinks. "Oh that guy? I helped him hide a couple bodies once."

Adonis and Zen facepalm. "Of course you did..."

we switch over to Sezrus reporting to Avarice in his office the next day

Avarice with a look of rage on his face as stands up from his chair, Throwing it to at the wall.

"You absolute fucking failure!" he screams at the top of his lungs. "Why did you let them go!?"

Sezrus looks at the floor clentching his fists. "One of my rules is to never kill a human. I just wanted to teach them a lesson...."

Avarice walks over to Sezrus and grabs him by his collar, gritting his teeth.
"A lesson in what!? How to PISS ME OFF!?" He says throwing Sezrus to the floor. "Do you not realize that those idiots are out to KILL me!?" He says kicking Sezrus while he was down. Sezrus just laying taking the kicks.

Sezrus tries to get up but gets knocked back down by Avarice. "I bought you from The Zero Triad so you could protect me yet you FAILED!" Avarice stops kicking Sezrus, Sezrus wiping the blood from his mouth.

"My hope was that they would learn they wouldn't be able to beat you if they can't even beat me." He says coughing abit.

Avarice kicks his desk and shakes his head. "For your sake Sezrus you better hope so. Or it's your head on a pike. Do I make myself clear? The next time you see those two KILL THEM." He says with venom, Glaring at him.

"Yes sir" Sezrus says quietly, Bowing before leaving Avarice's office.
He walks back over to his desk and sits down to continue work on their latest game title.

One of his co-workers walks past him, She takes a glance and stops, Noticing the marks and bruises on his face and arms.
"D-did the boss hurt you?? Are you okay??" She says with concern.

Sezrus looks over at her then back to his computer screen.
"I'm fine, I just fell down the stairs this morning...."

The co-worker puts a hand on his shoulder.
"But I heard yelling..."

Sezrus grabs her hand and glares at her. His eyes glowing a deep red.
"I said i'm FINE" He says annoyed.

The lady winces and looks at him with a horrified look.

She nods and walks off quickly in fear."

Sezrus shakes his head.
"Humans and their damn sympathy."
He looks down at his desk thinking to himself.
"Then again.... I'm not one to talk, Not after what I did to those souls in hell"

He clentches his fists and closes his eyes, sighing and then returning to his coding job.

We switch to Zen, Adonis and Nava walking down a street. They had stayed the night in a hotel the night before.
They were headed to a local sushi spot that Mephisto liked to meet with him.

"Always food places huh?" Zen says non-chalantly placing his arms behind his head he walked.

"The guys loves food." Nava shrugs as she walks next to him.
Adonis was on the other side of him. "You know for someone who almost died AGAIN you certainly are...calm"

Zen grins and chuckles. "Well hey i'm okay. Helped that we got some pretty damn good rooms in the hotel. How'd you get us the luxury suites anyway Nava?"

Nava pictures last night in her head. She had threatned the front desk clerk with her Chain Flail weapon.
"GIMMIE THE BEST ROOMS YOU'VE GOT OR i TAKE YOUR HEAD" She says to the terrfied clerk

She smirks and chuckles. "I have my ways~"

Adonis squints her eyes at her and places her hands on her hips. "Nava... Did you threaten the front desk guy?"

Nava puts on a fake innocent smile. "Nooooo......"

Adonis shakes her head. "Pssh Liar. We talked about doing stuff like that."

Zen watches them start to get into an argument as he places his hand on his face. "Like and old married couple...." He says with a sigh. Noticing they were at the place. "Yo Ex-lovebirds. Were here."

Adonis and Nava look at him with venom. "Don't call us that!" they say in unison.

Zen winced and stepped back. "O-okay... Can we just go find Mephisto please???"

The three walk into the sushi bar, It was a conveyer belt styled place.

"You'd think he's stick out like a sore thumb with that suit of his..." Adonis said looking around.
They hear a voice from behind them '"Zenny! Adonis! Over here."

Zen grins. "Found him!." As he walks over with Nava and Adonis.
"So what brings you guys here? And is that NAVA? Well shit I haven't seen ya since the Giraffe incident!"
Mephisto says getting and patting her head.
Nava scrunches her brow and grabs his hand. "Dont"

Zen looks over at Adonis and whispers. "The hell does he mean "Giraffe incident??"
Adonis shrugs. "No idea, Best not to ask either."

Mephisto laughs at Nava and sits back down. "I'm guessing you arent for the sushi huh?"

"I mean, I kind of am." Zen says and laugh. "But there's also another thing."

Mephisto raises his brow and smirks. "And what's that?"

Adonis glares at him. "Information."

Mephisto takes a plate off the belt, Kappa maki, And takes a bite as he looks at Adonis. "Alright. But that's gonna be two you owe me." He says holding up a peace sign as he dips his sushi in soy sauce.

Nava rolls her eyes, Adonis crosses her arms, Zen stares at the sushi with drool coming out of his mouth.
Adonis puts her hands on the table. "Zen got beat by Avarice's guard. I had a run in with him too after trying to break into his mansion to scope it out. Why didn't you tell us he was guarded by an ancient one named Sezrus?"

Mephisto drops his chopsticks in his soy sauce, His pupils growing smaller. "T-they exist??"

Nava points over too Zen who has stolen some sushi off the belt. "Yup, Almost gave Zen here a second death."

Mephisto closes his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Shit... That's not good. When I told ya where to find him I had no idea he had someone like that at his beck and call.... What info do you want?"

Adonis Looks back at Zen then back Mephisto. "I need someone who can train Zen. Sezrus told me something at Avarice's mansion. He said he had a dark power inside him." She says looking Mephisto dead in the eyes.
"He needs someone who knows how to train with him. He isn't a normal reaper. Lucifer did something this time"

Mephisto leans back in his chair placing his feet on the table. "So Lucifer has a bigger plan than just being tired of the sins huh? Yeah I think I know a guy that could help. Name's Rumin. Specializes in stuff like this. I'll have him meet you outside Tokyo Station tommorow afternoon. but you owe me even bigger for this. Cause now you got me curious on ol'Luci's plans."

Adonis nods and looks at Nava, making sure she heard. Nava also nods.
"Zen, Stop stuffing your face. It's time to go." Adonis says walking over to him.
Zen shakes head while scarffing down sushi. "No, I'm still hungry."

Later that night we see Lillith with Rumin at a capsule hotel in Tokyo. Tommorow was they day they went after Avarice.
Lillith sits in her capsule, Punching her hand with a smirk.

"Oh tommorow is gonna be fun... Taking out David AND Avarice. I know he's here... "

Rumin nods as he sits next to her, His phone rings Lillith raises a brow as he answers.

"You've had a cell phone this entire time???"

"Mhm... Yes... Okay I got it." Mephisto hangs up his call and looks over at lillith.
"Think you can handle Avarice by yourself? I have something I need to take care of."

Lillith raises her brow even higher. "What is it??"

Rumin looks at her and shrugs. "Mephisto called me and said I have some people to meet up with, Didn't describe the details."

"Must be important if that sleezebag is calling you at fuck all hours of the night."Lillith says laying down.
"Yeah i'll be fine. Avarice is the weakest of the sins." She laughs softly and closes her eyes. "It's funny. As a kid I always wanted to come to tokyo. Who thought it'd take me dying to make it here"

Rumin nods and goes to his own capsule. "Good night and good luck."

Lillith closes her capsule door. "You too."

We see Lucifer sitting at his throne yawning softly as he rubs his eyes.
"Being king of hell is boring sometimes. Even the screams no longer bring me joy..."

The huge chamber doors swing open, Lucifer raises a brow and looks up to see Nava entering his throne room.
"Well well if it isn't my little spy. So do you have updates?"

Nava nods and bows to him. "I do lord Lucifer. Zen was attacked by Sezrus and lost. He was Avarice"

Lucifer looks at her surprised. "Why I haven't heard that name is decades.... What an interesting development.." He says with a smirk on his face. "Anything else?"

Nava nods contuing to bow. "Yes. Zen is training with Rumin tommorow."

Lucifer claps his hands and laughs. 'Wonderful! It's SO interesting watching this all unfold."

Nava looks up at Lucifer. "my lord, If I may ask... Sezrus told Adonis that Zen had a "Dark energy" inside him... What exactly is your plan...If it's okay to ask"

Lucifer stands up and walks over to her ruffling up her hair. "Oh Nava... If I were to tell you i'd have to kill you....And I don't want to do that..." He says gripping her head tight. Nava wincing in pain, The voices in her head screaming. "Let's just say the world is going to change when i'm DONE" He says aggressively, Laughing manically.
He goes back and sits back, Nava falling to the floor. holding her head. "Y-yes sir...." She says walking out.

After she walks away we see Mephisto poke his out from behind the door. waiting until she's out of sight,
"So... Nava's his little spy huh.... Lucifer what the hell do you have planned? What do you mean the worlds going to change..?"

Mephisto silently blends into the shadows. Making his escape.
