Kyuuzaki wakes up from the flight and goes to the small kitchen to grab a drink. One stirs awake, asking if they’ve arrived. Kyuuzaki shakes his head, and One drifts back to sleep.
In the forest, Hikaru continues to run, and they slide down to another cliff. He lands safely, and they sprint towards a massive cave for cover. Some wolves race past, but others pause, sniffing the air. They encircle the area, tracking the scent.
Hikaru whispers, “Just stay still…”
Taiyō arrives, and he starts scanning the terrain. Hikaru remains composed, but Krista is very nervous. Taiyō finds them and pretends that he hasn’t. Then he proceeds to order the wolves to look and smell the area.
A few minutes have gone by, and the wolves are in position, and Taiyō grins. “Alright, playtime is over.”
He smashes the cave wall beside Hikaru, yanking him out and hurling him skyward. Taiyō teleports behind him and sends A swift kick to Hikaru’s back, sending him crashing onto the cave’s roof. Taiyō looms above as Hikaru coughs blood and staggers upright. A dark smoke coils around his body slowly, and Hikaru smiles.
“I’m ready.” Hikaru’s eyes glow purple.
A couple of minutes before the wolves caught up…
“I have a plan.” The voice suggests something to Hikaru.
“What is it?” Hikaru sits down inside a cave.
“When I took over your body, I knocked down the leader of the wolves. Since he has a machine behind his back that can also be his weakness. Although we will have to be more cautious since it’s morning. Like what Krista the fox said Yesterday. It will be dangerous, but we still don’t know why.” Hikaru nods and then agrees with the voice.
“So attack him from behind since I don't have the strength like you to knock him out?” Hikaru clenches his fist while looking outside the cave.
“Yes, but be careful.” The voice raises a concern about its tone.
One and Kyuuzaki arrive at the Crescent Moon Island, and they settle a small camp beside their plane. One looks around and scans the area, and he processes to find something odd on the floor. One kneels down and checks the dirt and some footprints. Kyuuzaki jumps beside him and he looks down where One is also looking.
“Have you found anything useful?” Kyuuzaki asks.
“Only wolf tracks, and a giant wolf footprint.” One touches the ground and examines the marking carefully.
“They must be hunting something, and did you say a giant wolf footprint?” Kyuuzaki looks around.
“Yes, and do you think they are hunting for the kid?” One stands up and looks around.
“I can’t say for sure, but there are tons of wild beasts on this kind of island. So please be wary because you haven't fully recovered yet.”
“Don’t worry about me.” One walks around the area.
Taiyō’s back starts to radiate with light while He is looking down at Hikaru. The heat around them started to rise, and it’s making Hikaru sweat. Hikaru starts running in circles and kicks him in the back. Taiyo stumbles a little bit and looks around, following his movements.
“So you think you got me, kid, because you attacked me in the back?
The machine behind the werewolf starts to transform into a small metallic cylinder. The machine starts glowing, and the sound of humming is coming from the machine. Hikaru is confused about what is about to happen, and he jumps away from him.
“What is that?” Hikaru asks cautiously.
“Oh, you will know soon.” Taiyō inhales, then his mouth starts to glow, and he blasts a giant solar ray at Hikaru. Taiyō hits his arm when he attempts to dodge the attack. Hikaru stumbles on his feet, and he backs away from him. Taiyō starts to grow bigger, and he runs towards him. Hikaru and Taiyo start to clash with one another, and Hikaru's strength starts to fluctuate drastically.
“Sorry, kid, but I don’t have time for this.” Taiyo grabs his shoulders and stabs him right in the middle of his chest using his claws. Then he tosses him on the other side of the small mountain.
Taiyo jumps down where Krista is located and captures her instantly. They proceed to run toward the laboratory. Hikaru continues to fall down the hill while blood is gushing out of his chest. He is in shock at what just happened to him, and the dark smoke starts to wrap all over him, forming it into a black cocoon.
“No, No, No, I won’t let you die.” Hikaru’s consciousness is slowly fading from the shock, and his consciousness is starting to fade slowly.
“Am I dead?” Hikaru's consciousness feels like he is underwater, and slowly sinking into the abyss. His fingertips are getting colder, and he feels a heavy weight pulling in.
“No, but you're dying slowly. I won’t let you die like this…” The black smoke continues to swirl and envelope the penetrated wound.
“I feel like I'm sinking…” Hikaru’s eyes close, and the abyss seems to be pulling him even deeper.
“This wasn’t the time to give you my strength, but I'll give you a 1/15th of my power.” A dark cloud begins to envelop Hikaru, creeping over his entire body until it swallows him whole. He curls into a fetal position, trembling, as a faint purple aura pulses in and out of his chest, a ghostly rhythm synced with his heartbeat. The swirling dark aura continues its eerie “healing,” leaching color from his skin until his body resembles a shadowy void. Inch by inch, the darkness spreads, and soon, a pitch-black veil cloaks him completely.
“What is this feeling…” Hikaru’s eyes start glowing slowly, and he looks up at the sky.
The black cocoon around him explodes violently, unleashing a wave of pitch-black sludge that smothers everything nearby. The trees, rocks, and soil are now covered with a black substance. Thick black smoke claws its way upward, twisting into the air like serpents, while explosive energy ripples outward in chaotic waves. Nearby wildlife bolts in terror, birds screeching as they flee the unnatural darkness, their instincts screaming of danger.
“What was that?” One, Kyuuzaki and Taiyo asks.
Everyone at the crescent island see the dark towering flame, and Taiyo looks back to find where it is. He saw it is where Hikaru was, and he and the pack started bolting away. The flame dissipates slowly and it retracts back into nothingness. One and Kyuuzaki also saw the dark flame, and they look at each other.
“Are you seeing this, Kyuuzaki?” One holds his sword tightly.
Yes, One and I think we have found him.” While Kyuuzaki brings up the map on the crescent island.
Hikaru looks around him, and everything is pitch black. He looks up at the sky, and he sees birds flying from above. The sky turns back from its original color, and he feels the wind blowing to his face. “What happened to me…”
“Krista… Where is she?” The realization slams into Hikaru, and His head whips around. He starts scanning the ravage landscape, and the trees that are wrapped with the black substance. There’s no sign of her and he slightly panics.
“What is happening to me?” Hikaru is confused about what happened to his body, and he jumps upwards. The wind slaps on his face, and he opens his eyes, realizing he is 200 feet in the middle of the air.
“Are you surprised at what you can do?” Hikaru tries to land on his feet, but he ends up destroying the ground. Then he looks at the chest where he was stabbed, and there is no scar.
“I know I got stabbed directly on the chest, but there is no scar.” Hikaru pulls down his shirt, pats his body.
“When you received 1/15th of my strength, all your abilities were enhanced. I’m not supposed to give this to you yet, but that was the only option.” The voice replies.
“So that includes the healing factor and absurd strength that I am feeling?” Hikaru asks the voice again.
“Yes.” The voice replies firmly.
“Alright then, I will use this strength to save that fox.” Hikaru looks around for any wolf tracks, and he sees a couple of them.
One and Kyuuzaki start running to the place where Hikaru’s black “beacon” originates, and they are both wondering what happened to him.
“Do you think he got stronger?” One asks while vaulting from tree to tree.
“Perhaps, but I doubt he can defeat us both,” Kyuuzaki says confidently while swinging at the trees.
“Still confident in your power, eh?” One mocks Kyuuzaki for being runeless.
“Well, when you went all out on him, you lost, right?” Kyuuzaki banters back at One.
One glares at him for a few seconds, rolls his eyes, and fixes his gas mask. While giving a big sigh and continuing to vault over the rocks and tree branches.
“Well, I wasn’t expecting a random power-up from him.” One gives an excuse to get out of the conversation.
“Excuses.” Kyuuzaki grins and proceeds to speed up.
Hikaru slowly follows the trail of the wolf, and once he feels certain, he breaks into a full sprint. After a couple of seconds, he stumbles again since he is not used to the newfound speed. He doesn’t give up, and he keeps on running.
In the underground laboratory Taiyo arrives while holding the fox. He order the other animals to lock up the fox, and he ordered the three elite animal guards of the underground laboratory to prepare for an incoming fight. The three beast are celebrating, and they start preparing.
Hikaru finally arrives at the location, and He looks around a strange white building. There is only one building in the area, and it looks abandoned. He walks around the area to find an entrance, and he sees destroyed laboratory machines scattered outside the building.
“I guess this is it.” Hikaru looks around for the wolf tracks.
“It would appear so.” The voice responds to him in a neutral tone.
